Will it be the virus that takes Trump down?
WestCanMan replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Trump needs to 1) let Biden talk more, so that voters don't need to guess how stupid Joe is, but 2) not let Biden speak too much, because we don't want the Dems to get an excuse to remove him, and replace him with someone who is more competent. -

When Trump tries talking to the media about their revisionist history they try to yell over him and just make brand new accusations. He put the vido out there for them so that there was no room for debate or denial. If they weren't caught lying then there would have been no video of them lying for Trump to post. Do you think that Justin Trudeau can make a video of CBC [who got $695M from him after they ran propaganda for him from 2012-2015] lying about his handling of covid just to make him look bad boges? What about the other "select media outlets" that he gave $600M? Does he have a video to run about their slander and deceit? FFS, I don't even know where you get some of your ideas from. -

"Hark, sycophant horde, bow down before your TVs for the official New Truths as we create them! The hundreds of videos of us making childish insults, and the transcripts on our website which verify the content of the videos, are not important compared to the bold new truths! ALL THE EVIDENCE YOU NEED IS YOUR OPINION OF TRUMP. SPREAD THE GLORIOUS NEW TRUTHS! YOU ARE A SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR LIKE GRETA!" MLW Lefties: "OH HELL YEAH! This bold new truth is way better than Russian collusion, Fordgate, Ukrainegate, drapegate, and Sandmangate!" -

Facts are facts, and I never said that I was buying your propaganda. I laid out how the virus was handled in both countries. You didn't challenge any of the actual facts I posted. You just keep on insisting that on March 16th, when Trudeau FINALLY TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS TOWARDS CONTAINING THE SPREAD OF THE VIRUS, that somehow he did so much on that day that it made up for all the lost time that he had to make up on the US, who had blocked travellers from covid hotspots and had actual screening in place at the airports. That's impossible, because social distancing guidelines in the states on March 19th are exactly what they were here. Trudeau wasn't ahead of the US in any way, at any time. Trudeau lagged way behind, for 45 days in fact, and we got lucky because our population is 1/10th the size of the US and our country is larger. We also don't have a Mardi Gras, we didn't have a Superbowl during Covid, and we don't have a subway system that moves the population of BC every single day. Not only are you completely sucked in by propaganda, you spread it yourself like a sweaty Reverend spewing hellfire and damnation. You completely refuse to consider what actually happened, or try to understand it, you're desperately clinging to "but CBC and CNN said!!!!" Yeah, they said Trudeau did so much on March 16th that it made up for everything that he failed to do prior BUT THEY NEVER GAVE EXAMPLES OF IT. NEITHER DID YOU. THEY DON'T EXIST. Grab a fact somewhere, and try to prove something. Name-calling only works in your little circle. It doesn't prove anything here. -

Are you saying that Redstate is any less accurate than CNN? Do I have to remind you that CNN was successfully sued by a High School student for libel (lying to malign his character)? Yikes. -

Riiiight. Your precious Trudeau was behind at every step of the game up to March 16th, that’s not in question, and your only comeback is your opinion of what suddenly happened after that, which massively changed the whole game. You don’t have any cites for your claim which appears, on it’s face, to be ridiculous, and now you call me uninformed. Did you notice that the people making that claim just say it, expecting you to just believe it without question? You just heard something bad about Trump and automatically took it as gospel, and you have the nerve to talk about other people being misinformed lol. It’s the spirit of the times. -

CNN: "Let's accuse Trump of doing the wrong things when he's actually doing the right thing, and then in a month or two when it becomes known that he was doing the right things all along, we will just get mad at him for not doing it all earlier. We all know that everyone who is dumb enough to still be watching us in April of 2020 won't notice." -

You're such a WAAAAAAAH! FACT - The US shut down travel from Covid hotsposts, Canada allowed people from covid hotspots to fly into our busy airports and walk freely there, and then they were allowed to walk around Canada before we started practicing social distancing. FACT - The US was screening passengers entering the US at their airports and Canada was not screening passengers entering at our airports. FACT - Canada did not start practicing social distancing, increased hygiene regimens, or recommending masks before the US did. If they did, You'd be waving the truth around like Trudeau waving a white flag if two Boy Scouts attacked him. So, if you want to talk about a BLIND FOLLOWER, look in the mirror. YOU'RE PARROTING WHAT IS KNOWN TO BE TOTAL BS AND YOU'RE NAME-CALLING AGAINST PEOPLE WHO TELL YOU THE TRUTH. Suck it up Princess. The truth is what it is and I don't give a rip if you can't handle it. Grow up. Lol. -

I don't give a crap what you think the meetings were/are. They still gave all the same pertinent covid advice that our government was giving us. That's all that's relevant to this topic. -

Will it be the virus that takes Trump down?
WestCanMan replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The US Covid task force had briefings every day, usually for an hour or more, and gave all the proper advice for social distancing and hygiene. The Canadian government DID NOT DO more than the US gov't in that regard. Your concrete example wasn't backed with links, or facts, just your own opinion, and your opinion was just wrong. -
There's no risk of infecting other people if you get tested and you're negative. One of the biggest defences against covid is testing people who may have the virus. Trudeau refused to take one of the most basic covid precautions there is, and that's why he chose to stay in his basement. It's not just important for isolating the virus, it's also important for tracking the virus statistically.

Will it be the virus that takes Trump down?
WestCanMan replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So you don't have an example, you just made the statement based on a broad assumption. The fact is that the US did more to block travellers with the virus, they did more to screen travellers who potentially had the virus, and after that it's basically the exact same. It's time to stop making the claim that "Trudeau did more to protect Canadians from covid than Trump did" because it's patently false. -
Will it be the virus that takes Trump down?
WestCanMan replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Do you have examples of this at the federal level? I'm not aware of any. The main differences that I notice are that the US closed down travel from the covid hotspots and that they actually conducted screening at their airports. We never did either of those things until both countries were shutting down completely. -

I think that people who were regarded as being nutjobs, like Howie Mandel [for his refusal t shake hands, touch door knobs, etc], will be a lot more common in the future. Personally, I never touch the doorknob of a bathroom when I leave, even if I have to be a contortionist, because I know that lots of people have touched it without washing their hands. Aside from that I'd still rather build up my immunity to things than have my immune system remain a clean slate. I also think that herd immunity is a real thing, and that it's important. -
Centrist Party of Canada
WestCanMan replied to CentristPartyofCanada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, in our parliamentary model the MPs are actually responsible to represent the will their own constituents. If something is important for the whole nation then hopefully the majority will prevail. Right now our democracy operates like a purely partisan shitshow, where MPs would vote against the cure for cancer just to screw the opposite side and the PM can unilaterally declare that terrorists don't need to go to jail. Currently we can't even extract half the oil there if we wanted to. This is an answer to a question that was never asked. I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with anything I said. -
Centrist Party of Canada

The NDP are basically far left morons who want to fundamentally overhaul our government, they’re not in your lane at all. The Libs are anti-western Canada, and pro virtue signalling. That’s it. If someone cries, they just scream along with them without thinking. Despite 5 years of glowing media coverage the fact that they’re wallowing in ineptitude is blatantly obvious. Canadians are ready to move on. The Tories are the bad guys that the media loves to attack. Scheer won the popular vote and yet the CBC immediately came out with a story suggesting that he had to go. “It was a slam dunk victory for Scheer because Trudeau had so many scandals, etc! The fish had already jumped in the boat at all Scheer needed to do was whack it with an oar!” Funny that, because the media had never characterized Trudeau as Mr Scandal before the election was over. He has always been Mr Virtue in their stories and articles. Bottom line is, you can say any childish insult about the Tories you want, the media will run with it. They’ll lionize you. Lisa LaFlamme will roll her eyes when anyone says anything bad about you. Just remember that for every glowing, vague promise that you make you give a bunch of people a warm feeling inside without alienating anyone. For every declarative statement that you make, you definitely alienate a small voting block, you risk alienating a large voting block. By the time you’re up to five declarative statements you’ve given the opposition 5 chances to make straw-man arguments against you and you’ve alienated a lot of people. Eg, as soon as you say anything decidedly pro-oil you have instantly lost the Greta Thunberg toadies, and they’re a vocal, hateful bunch who will dog you forever. If you go against it, you’ve lost a whole province. So you promise to take a common sense approach to putting Canada’s interests first without being isolationist. “We get that Trump puts America first. Xi puts China first. That’s to be expected. But we all have a strong desire to do a lot of business. We’ll make it work.” Blah, blah, blah. You need to be extremely adept and nimble to tackle topics with declarative statements without alienating people, PLUS you need to have the media characterize your debate points and opposition debate points accurately. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. If you think that you can go head to head with Trudeau, speaking concisely, without getting shredded by his sycophantic media horde, I think you’re wasting your time bud. Virtue signal from the center lane. Brag about Canadians and our vast achievements and sacrifices. Brag about how successful immigrants of all stripes have been here and how inclusive our society is. Your call to action is unity and fairness. Attack incumbents for the way our country is currently divided. Attack the general hyper-partisan culture of politicians AND media. Offer strong vocal support of something the Tories say. Ditto for the Libs. All of a sudden you’re the lone adult in the room who is putting the interests of Canadians first. Promise people that their elected MP will vote with the conscience of their own constituents, the way they are supposed to, and not as puppets to the party leader. You can say a lot without making declarative statements. You need to make a career of it or you’re stuck in your day job. -
Centrist Party of Canada

If I had a positive critique, I’d say that you’re not being political enough with your answers. Canadians don’t get actual answers from their current government, they get virtue signalling, pie-in-the-sky and bafflegab, and it’s really tough for people to object to those things. Our MSM fawns on him because of it. Part of your goal is to break the spell. Maybe promise them $2B lol. You, on the other hand, make declarative statements and give direct answers. You’ll forever be bogged down, quibbling with people over semantics, if you do that. Also, it’s extremely easy for virtue signallers, like the village idiot, to make straw-man arguments out of direct, declarative statements. Take Bernier’s quote about how idiotic Trudeau’s statement “Diversity is our greatest strength” was. Bernier was accurate, on point, correct, and he will always be branded a racist for it even though it wasn’t racist at all. You want to speak in glowing generalizations about improving the care of seniors, because the baby boomers are coming to their last couple turns at voting. That’s a huge voting block of people who are definitely all going to the polls, and they’re all alienated. You want to speak glowingly about how diverse and yet similar all the different regions of Canada are, and how important it is that we change direction, and come together on important challenges. Those kinds of topics give you a chance to throw love around, virtue-signal about Canadians, and they’re harsh attacks on the Libs without going to the sandbox. BS generalizations are the way to go imo. BS answers will work better on a guy like Hardner than actual answers. He’s in love with the guy who’s throwing down BS and division 24/7. -
Will it be the virus that takes Trump down?
WestCanMan replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's not just a lie, it's also false. If the US just did that one thing and never did anything else than for sure, we'd be better off. Truth is, they did that one thing, plus they actually screened passengers at the airports which we talked about but never actually did, plus they enacted all the same social distancing guidelines that we did and they didn't do it any later. -
Did Trudeau Fail His Country On Covid-19

This is a bad era for people who have allergies. Allergies suck to begin with: burning watery eyes, itchy nose, sneezing, blowing tons of snot.... Now in the covid/post-covid era people bring out the torches and pitchforks if you so much as sniffle. If my allergy shots this year don't work out I'm gonna get a medical bracelet just so that I don't have to worry about getting drop-kicked every time I sneeze. -
Just a quick look at our media would do that for you. It was ordained back in 2015 that anything Trudeau did wrong would go mostly unnoticed and unreported, and what just couldn't be ignored would be downplayed while other stories were hyped up to take away the focus. It was ordained before Trump was inaugurated that every story and every crisis would be used as a tool to attack Trump. We're 5 years into Trudeau's debacle, and despite his boatload of serious ethics breeches and scandals, there has been 1/3 the negative press on Trudeau as there was on Harper just for $90K Duffygate. Not a single day has passed where CNN and MSNBC haven't spent hours attacking Trump for things which turned out to be false. 1) LavScam is a full-on scam in which our PM is certainly guilty and he is obstructing justice in that case with impunity. The media coverage was always misleading - I never once saw CBC or CTV mention that SNC was caught bribing a Liberal $2.3M for help winning a bid on a Bridge contract in Mtl. Coverage was partially hot for 2 weeks, warm for a week, intermittent for a few weeks, gone from the news. The public in Canada doesn't give a rip. Some of them don't want to believe it, some of them don't think the crime is more important than their dear leader, some of them were fooled by the media coverage which downplayed the incident, and none of those people care about obstruction of justice. 2) Russian collusion was proven to be a mix of Hillary's lies, FBI malfeasance, and media slander, yet tens of millions of people are still hoodwinked to this day. Do you think that those people couldn't be convinced that mass-murdering Jews is really important? Or that it never happened? Our media in NA is 100% as fake as any state-run media in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China and maybe just a bit less fake than NoKo. They lie by omission, they lend 100% support to stories that they know are false, they use sensational photos to push narratives they like and if they can't ignore a story that damages their narrative then they intentionally Nerf them down so that people don't feel any emotion about them. They even act like the UN is 100% legit and it's more screwed-up than Scientology. The end result is that we all know that we're being lied to, so we may as well all just believe whatever the f we want. Hell, religion even teaches us that it's our undeniable right. I just decided that I'm going to go along 100% with the next new conspiracy theory that comes out, just for shits and giggles. I don't like any of the old ones. This is 2020. My white privilege and short attention span demand something shiny and new.

The ministry of propaganda doesn't even mention Trudeau until 3/4 of the way through the article. I think I could do a better job of critiquing the "Libs". They also didn't mention that our Health Minister doesn't have any more medical training than my Rat Terrier. What are these border controls, and why didn't we think of that sooner? -

Everyone is doing something properly now, the only difference is who was smart enough to start doing the right things early on in the game. The next time anyone says "Pandemic may be starting in _______", int'l flights from there will be banned by 75% of countries right away.
