  1. It’s pretty bad when Trump is smart enough to figure out that he needed to block travel from China and our entire government, plus our scientific and medical communities weren’t even smart enough to follow suit. Dr Tam finally admitted that we should’ve close the borders earlier but it’s of little consequence now to all the people whose family members died as a result of her blatant stupidity. We all knew Trudeau was that stupid, we needed Dr Tam to step up.
  2. LMAO, too true. Although I have had my "moments" with scientific and mortgage calculators.
  3. Just under 60% of eligible voters usually vote federally in the US. If half of those people vote for Biden, and half of them vote for Trump (as with almost every normal election) there will still be enough unused votes left from eligible voters to get someone else elected. Sure, you could check on every single American to see if they voted twice, and if you find out that 20M people voted twice what do you do with that info? Which of their votes do you discount? How do you find out exactly who committed the crime? What percent of the people who commit this crime will likely get caught? I didn't say that it would be super easy for the average Joe to do this, but it could be doable. It's much more doable than appearing in person with valid gov't-issued id a hundred times. It's also easier to catch a person showing up in person, and they'd have committed the crime of creating fake ID, and identity theft as well. Just to submit ONE extra vote. Worth it? I think not. Ask yourself this: would the party who created the fake dossier and gotten the FBI slimesters to conduct a fake investigation for 3 years create a few thousand fake mail-in votes in swing states to try to cheat to win an election? Hint - the correct answer is of course they would. If they caught EVERY SINGLE PERSON who ever committed voter fraud you'd have a point. With the system of showing up and voting, certain types of fraud are really hard. With mail-in voting, mass fraud is easy. By coincidence, I've already dropped off 6,300 pieces of mail today and it's 12:35 here in BC. What if someone hacks into the computer that generates mail-in ballots and copies the format for generating QR codes? What if someone leaks it to their Bernie Bros, their brilliant Trump supporter friends, or their bumbling Biden buddies?
  4. Well, to be honest, if you know how to interpret that graph, and what it truly means, it's basically just a colorful nothing as far as this topic is concerned. I could compare Greenland to Canada on a graph too. It would be equally worthless. We're far enough along the curve to know what's up right now dialamah. We've come to the stage where our preparedness and early actions have resulted in a certain "order of magnitude" of casualties and deaths. We have set the course for the future, based on how widely the virus managed to spread in our various countries. Canada got covid spread far and wide. That's no small task with 10M sq km to cover.
  5. The comparison to the US really works for some people here because it's a totally misleading comparison, and that's what people are looking for. A chance to make Trudeau look good by providing a comp that is totally misleading. The countries are the same size, geographically close, the culture is similar, so on the surface the comp looks valid. A quick look at the NY metropolitan area vs Canada blows that theory out of the water though, so people here choose to ignore it.
  6. Sidearms actually are a popular line of defence against bears. You can get a permit to carry a handgun around if you work up north and hike a long way like a geologist, etc. In that type of situation you don't necessarily want to carry a big rifle with you all day, knowing that you'll almost never need it. It's much easier to strap on a big-bore pistol, and they're closer to hand. Are they particularly useful? Tough to say. I haven't heard a lot of stories of pistols not working, or actually working. I get that a bear could fight his way through a .44 if they wanted to, but wild animals don't get to run to a Dr after they get hurt, so they don't typically take any more damage than they have to. That's why an animal like a mountain lion, which could easily kill a human, prefers to hunt and kill smaller things like rabbits, or animals like fawns or does with no serious defensive physical accoutrements. The way I look at it, wrestling bear cubs even though you're packing a .44 would almost certainly get you killed, but if you're walking across an open field and a bear becomes interested in you as prey, and you fire a .44 past them, they will probably figure out what's best for them.
  7. There are voting scandals in the US every election year. Over 1,200 PROVEN cases, and they certainly don't catch 100%. There's not much chance that they catch 50%, there's a good chance that it's lower than 10%, it could be as low as 1/100,000 for all we know. There are a lot of people counting ballots who have a very strong bias and very low morals. The whole point of this election exercise isn't to continually make it easier and easier to cheat.
  8. What's to stop a rotten candidate form printing 20,000 mail-ballots and combing the phone book for names and addresses? How hard is it to do that vs to scam by having actual voters show up at polling stations carrying id?
  9. You're going back to this clueless tripe? Canada has the world's 40th largest population, we're 200th in population density, and we're top ten in deaths from covid. By what fucking metric are we "Closer to the best????????" (39th, 187th 11th to be precise). It's debatable if we are the worst country on the planet. The US only has 15x as many covid deaths as we do, but they have 9x our population and population density. They also have the UN in NYC, which is one of the most densely populated places on earth. Nice of you to understand how people sometimes try to corner you into the prison of two ideas when that's not applicable, but I don't appreciate that you're insinuating that I'm an extremist or that I'm being intellectually dishonest. FYI, in this case, it's absolutely applicable to make it a "one or the other" question, because there were only two possible courses of action involved. There wasn't a 3rd course of action, get it? The government said "Don't wear masks". Now they say wear masks. What's the 3rd option genius? They never offered one. They didn't even say masks are optional they advised us NOT TO USE THEM. Was that right, was that wrong, or do you have a 3rd option that nobody else sees? Banning travel was either right, or it was wrong. If it was kinda right, then why don't we kinda have it now? What 3rd option would you like in this scenario dialamah? These are really easy questions that an entire kindergarten class could get 100% on. I understand that you don't like being put in a position where if you tell the truth you incriminate yourself, but the fact is that this is your just desserts for lying to begin with. Everyone in the country knew that leaving travel from China, and then Italy, etc, was incredibly stupid. You knew it. You pretended, along with Trudeau and his toadies, that somehow it made sense. They've finally admitted that they were wrong. You're still holding out. You talked about the tricks of extremists and then you post a logarithmic scale and leave it in the fine print. Most people won't interpret that graph correctly and that's why people like you choose it, to misrepresent Canada's covid problem. If we do a fair comparison of Canada covid cases to Japan covid cases: Japan had less than 20,000 cases and less than 800 deaths. Canada had 5x as many cases and almost 8x as many deaths. One in 470 people got covid in Canada, one in 6,200 Canadians died of covid. One in 6,300 Japanese got covid. One in 158,000 Japanese died of covid. We had 13x the per capita infection rate and 25x the per capita death rate of Japan, yet they have 84 times our population density. The entire population of Canada is in the Tokyo metropolitan area. If Japan just had our per capita death rate they'd have 20,400 deaths. That's 19,600 extra deaths. THIS DOESN"T EVEN TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THAT THEY HAVE 84X OUR POPULATION DENSITY!!!!!! If Abe followed Trudeau's model for "fighting" covid the death toll in Japan would be off the charts. Here's a fairer comp of Canada vs the US from Maclean's magazine:
  10. It's all quiet on the alt-left front tonight. What's going on? Are they all laying low because Trudeau and his lackeys were admitting to killing Canadians ad our economy with their blatant stupidity? Is it because Cuomo is getting busted for laughing about his bout with covid or whatever he did? I almost want to watch CNN and Global to see what's up.
  11. It's funny that Dems were so upset about election interference in 2016, yet they want to set up the easiest election-rigging scenarios ever with no-ID voting and mail-in ballots. If you're a mailman and you walk up to a house with a VOTE FOR X sign on the lawn, and you hate X, what are the chances that the mail-in-ballot from that house slips into the round file? Americans get 1 vote, but if you're a mailman you can take the votes away from hundreds of people if you have a mind to.
  12. Quick summary - the Prez can appoint anyone as VP if his VP resigns or vacates the position for whatever reason. They don’t have to have been elected anywhere. The House and and Senate just need to approve it. Biden won’t last 4 years, that much is certain. There is a clear lane for the power behind the Dems’ throne to get an unelected American in the WH. Only the VP stands in the way if they can win control of the Senate. They can easily find a VP who agrees to step aside. Its no stretch to say that an unelected American could be Prez by 2022.
  13. Juxtapose the content of your post into a crowded airport, with passengers arriving from Wuhan and Milan on Feb 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and for yet another 29 days before travel was finally banned. And just remember that as per the instruction of our government, people weren’t wearing masks that whole time. Our government has finally admitted that they made a mistake to tell people not to wear masks, and to leave international travel open this whole time. What about you? Do you think that international flights should be pouring in right now, allowing travellers from all over the world to come into our crowded airport? Do you think that people should be in that confined space without wearing masks? Or do you think our government completely failed us? I’ve been aware of this since Jan 31st. At what point will you admit that our government bombarded us with covid, causing thousands of deaths and ten$ of billion$ of damage to the economy when so many other governments around the world were actually protecting their citizens from the pandemic? Places like Taiwan and Japan had specific travel bans, not complete travel bans like our government insisted was “the only way!!!” Either you agree with me that Trudeau screwed us, or you think the airports should be going full bore right now. There’s no 3rd option.
  14. Dr Tam admitted to being an idiot: https://torontosun.com/news/national/canada-waited-too-long-to-close-borders-canadas-top-doc I tried to find CBC's coverage of this but it didn't come up on a quick google search. Check out this bit of complete idiocy from Supriya Dwivedi of Global News regarding masks: https://globalnews.ca/news/6863614/coronavirus-theresa-tam-critics/ Guess what Supriya Dwivedi you moron, the verdict is in and Canadians are banning travel and wearing masks, as per the instructions of our village idiot and his toadies. This moronic article has become proof that Conservative politicians are smarter than the WHO, the Liberal government, the mainstream media, and Canada's top public health officials. The only question remaining is, how many people died as a result of Trudeau's latest stupidity, how much longer will it take to get Canada's economy back in gear because of how widely covid spread, and how many tens or hundreds of billions of dollars it will cost us compared to if we had just used basic common sense BACK IN JANUARY? Honestly it's no wonder Canadians are so stupid. They're being bombarded with idiotic propaganda on a daily basis, both from the gov't and the MSM.
  15. Rather than acknowledge the shortcomings of your posts, why not try to raise the bar?
  16. I talked about the commonly-used medications of the elderly with co-morbidities a few posts up. The side effects of the Cholesterol/Heart/Diabetes medications are pretty serious. Health professionals.... like Tam and Hajdu? LMAO. They were as useless as tits on a boar in this crisis. "Don't block international travel, don't wear masks." They even made a point to call Trump's travel ban racist. Do you think they had a motive to say that? Yeah, for sure those Drs had motives and they weren't altruistic in nature. What was Trump's motive P77? I just gotta know lol. I don't watch it, but I see clips of their coverage in FB posts and on shows that I watch. There are also a lot of posters here who regurgitate CNN screed on a daily basis. Global News also repackages CNN talking points as their own screed. Unfortunately I don't have to watch CNN to know what they're saying. You can't get away from it if you live in Canada.
  17. Dr Oz is a cardio-thoracic surgeon. Are you kidding me? He is qualified to talk about the dangers of using or combining medications as anyone is. And just because Trump is just a POTUS doesn’t mean that he can’t make an informed decision. That’s pure idiocy. Youre ofer 2 there Boges.
  18. That’s just a trait comment with no substance whatsoever. Almost all of the information that I have posted on this site in the last two years comes from Fox News, and when I look back at different threads on this forum like for example the Cavanaugh thread or the Russian collusion thread, I don’t find that I need to walk back on anything that I said. If CNN was right twice a day that would be a vast improvement.
  19. Pretty much everybody is muddying the waters on everything nowadays. On CNN they don’t say a word without attempting to muddy the waters. I did hear mention of people potentially using hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic when Dr. Oz was talking about it. Where hydroxychloroquine has a conflict with other drugs, I think that it’s mostly the other drugs that are the main issue. Those cholesterol/blood pressure/diabetes medications don’t mix well with anything because they have such serious side effects even on their own. If you went and asked a pharmacist about using Lipitor and what the side effects of that drug are, and the complications of using it with other drugs, I think that there would be a long list of really scary things to mix with Lipitor.
  20. You should have something more positive than that under the brim of your hat eyeball. That's just sad.
  21. I wasn't watching Fox back then so I can't speak to what was going on back then, I'll just take your word for it. I just started watching Fox on the day of the Ferguson shooting when I caught CNN hiding the truth like it was the gate to hell. Certainly Fox is as pro-Republican as they could possibly be without running for election themselves, it just so happens that they're not lying right now, at a time when other media outlets are rarely even telling the truth. At least for now. Maybe at some point they will need to lie and they'll go full CNN. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
  22. So, what you completely fail to understand is that there are about 5 possibilities at the start of a pandemic given the technologies that are available in early 2020: 1) try some off-patent drugs like HCQ which are already proven to be effective against some viruses and see if they help against the new virus, 2) use drugs like Redmesivir which are still protected by patent, and one drug company will become infinitely rich while people and countries pay through the nose for it, 3) develop a new drug at great cost and spend months putting it through all the necessary clinical trials to get it approved for mass consumption, 4) lock down everything and everyone so that no one gets the virus but you destroy the economy in the process, while you wait for a vaccine (months for certain, possibly a year or more), 5) let the virus run it's course and just treat as many people as you can and eventually herd immunity will protect what's left of the population. If you choose option 5, you can take antibodies from people who successfully fought the virus and inject them into a select few people but 98% of the population won't have access to this level of treatment in 2020. Which option would you prefer Boges? Obviously option number 1 is the best option by far, if it works. A drug like HCQ is off-patent so every drug company in the world can manufacture it, royalty-free, and it's been in circulation for so long that it doesn't need new FDA approval. It would be incredibly cheap, and could help the entire planet right away. The main problem with HCQ is that Trump talked about it before Cuomo, so it became imperative that the mainstream media and the Dems demonize the drug in every way possible right from the start. Millions of people with absolutely no knowledge of medicine instantly clung to all of these new theories the second that they popped out, and pimped them like they were gospel truth and they knew EXACTLY wtf they were talking about: "People died drinking fish-tank cleaner!!!!! TRUMP KILLED THEM!!!!" "Initial studies which which showed success weren't proper clinical trials!" "People go blind from HCQ!!!" "Trump is getting rich off of HCQ!!!!" "HCQ can cause heart failure!!!!" "HCQ has a billion side effects, and they're all really bad!" "A new study which was conducted in the most perfect way in the whole history of drug trials just conclusively proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that there's no useful application for HCQ against covid whatsoever!" Every single item above IS either an outright lie, or a gross exaggeration of the reality. Only really stupid people instantly belched those things out the second they heard them. Hundreds of drugs were tried, not just HCQ. There's a reason that almost all of them were discredited immediately. There's obviously a reason that more than 1 doctor on the planet saw some promise in HCQ. FYI its not imperative that HCQ trials cease this instant. Grow up. HCQ might help right at the onset of symptoms in some sick people with co-morbidities. Maybe it does work as a prophylactic. Maybe it helps people who are exposed to the virus kill it within their system and develop immunity to it. I don't know all the possibilities, but I know that actual virologists saw promise in it. Maybe you should have a bit more faith in them than Nancy Pelosi. The FACT is that you do not know. Do you? Stop acting like you know. Literally no one does, and millions of people are far too eager to lie about it. Have you considered the possibility that someone just wants to get really rich off of a vaccine, by saving us all from a virus that kills 80 yr olds with co-morbidities and .001% of the rest of the population? We need to figure out exactly what the death rate is among infected people before we keep this panic session rolling at full gallop.
  23. Your new-found honesty is refreshing. You should wear that on a t-shirt.
  24. The weird thing is, that he says right at the end of that video that he "put a new guy in his place that was solid". Really? The US VP unilaterally appointed the top prosecutor in the Ukraine? If that ws the only thing he did, that's almost a scandal of it's own.
