  1. The Dems/leftists do like a good homeless crisis, don't they? Can't have no affordable housing here, nuh-uh.
  2. Trump banned travellers from entering the US who had been to China within 14 days on Jan 31. 42 days later, on March 13th, Trudeau re-stated his criticism of Trump's travel ban. 3 days later, on March 16th, Trudeau did an about-face and announced his travel ban. Japan banned travellers from China's Hubeii province earlier than March 15th: https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2020/01/15025cbcccfc-breaking-news-new-coronavirus-carriers-to-be-barred-entry-to-japan-abe.html Jan 31 they announced it. Why was banning travel from Hubeii good enough for Japan? Because the Chinese gov't had a ban on travel within the country for people from Hubeii. Canada didn't though. Neither the Chinese gov't nor the Cdn gov't stopped flights from Hubeii province (where Wuhan is) from coming to Canada. That's not cool. The Japanese gov't also handed out masks to their citizens. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2020/05/28/national/science-health/masks-helped-fight-coronavirus/#.XtwTzy8ZNQI My opinion doesn't lack facts, at all. Stopping pandemics at the source isn't a novel idea, and masks work for reasons which aren't specific to the DNA strands of novel viruses.
  3. My dad was an alcoholic and died just before he turned 65 from general organ failure. He wasn't violent though, I had a good enough childhood. I lived in a house without running water from gr 8 until I left home, but it wasn't poverty or anything. I always had decent food to eat. FWIW I totally support giving underprivileged children a break in life. I just don't go for the total equality of opportunity thing. I think that de-motivates people. Life is tough, and if we don't work hard as a society we will not have a nice country to live in.
  4. At the very best she's an idiot. I don't know how you can be smart enough to get through med school and still be as dumb as Dr Tam.
  5. I completely understand disadvantage and privilege. That's why I worked hard, saved money, and bought a condo before I had a kid. I was in the military and worked in a sawmill. I didn't get $1 to buy my place. My kid will have advantages because of the years of hard work that I put into getting my life in order and that's the way it should be. That's the way it would be in a tribal society, before there was ever such a thing as money. That's life. Will Smith's kids will have more advantages and opportunities than my kid will too. WS earned it. He chose a tough path, with a very low percentage chance of success, he worked like a mofo, and it paid off. Good for him. Should my kid get all kinds of private tutoring and nice cars, just like his? Nope. I didn't earn that. That's on me. You can't have a society of "guaranteed equal outcomes" and still have a creative, individual-friendly environment. Communism doesn't work that way.
  6. You think I have credibility issues because you don't understand what I'm talking about, with regards to Trudeau/Trump/covid. CTV, CBC and Global are Canadian. They're supposed to hold OUR politicians accountable. When our politicians are making idiotic mistakes that get people killed our MSM is supposed to notice, and they're supposed to care. They should step up and be a voice for Canadians. What did they do when Dr Tam said masks are bad? They toed the line and said "MASKS ARE BAD!" They didn't think about it from a neutral POV and examine the topic. They didn't wonder why Drs and nurses have worn masks for over a century. They just tried to propagate that narrative. What did they do when Trump closed off travel from China? (@ eyeball - yes he allowed Americans to come home so it wasn't really a travel ban lol) They followed Trudeau's lead and piled on Trump for "racism". They even quoted sources that said "it might violate international law". They didn't care that Japan and Taiwan also did it. They didn't even mention it at the time, because it was contrary to their narrative of racism as a primary motive. Our MSM was busy trashing Trump instead of thinking. Instead of following conventional wisdom. Age-old wisdom. Common sense. They didn't have our backs, they backed the turd. Now our MSM is busy trying to mop up Trudeau's mess. Trying to make it like "We did way better than the US!!!! Look at these stats!!!!" The stats are that if we had America's population, we'd have 67,800 covid deaths, and that's if our population density was still somehow only 1/8th of what America's is. We don't have a NYC subway station with 4.3M riders daily, in a city with the UN headquarters. We didn't have a superbowl during covid. Our airports are 1/10th the size of US airports. The simple fact is, that if you went back in time and put Canada's covid strategy in place in the US, the'd have far more than just 110,000 deaths. Our covid laws were STUPID, top to bottom, back to front, just extremely stupid in every way imaginable. We had travellers from covid hotspots flying in just 1 week before we were banned from hiking on remote trails in our own country. FYI my position has always been that Donald Trump didn't "get it right". Shinzo Abe got it right. Trump just did better than Trudeau, and our media wasn't only wrong about that, they vilified Trump for doing the right thing. They even vilified him for blocking funding to the WHO, pending an investigation. The WHO had one job - to give the world the right advice during a pandemic. The WHO got outsmarted by Donald Trump. You of all people should think that's reason for an investigation, based on your opinion of Trump.
  7. A former ESPN reporter, Chris Palmer, was on his twitter account, lustily cheering on the rioting & arson when a low-income housing building in his city was being burned down. He sung a different tune when the rioting got too close to his gated complex: So when they were destroying other people's businesses and homes it was AWESOME!!!!!! Then when they came within 100 yards they were "animals who didn't belong in his neighbourhood" lol. The little bitch called the cops. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that evil? Aren't police forces supposed to be defunded now? I can promise you that there's not a single person who posts on this forum who would support the destruction of their own home or business, but all of these little hypocrites were ok with it when it was happening 500 miles away. "It's just a part of the overall protests. There's a good reason for it." Ok Chris Palmer.
  8. The little chickenshit can't have a Democracy in a nice socially-distanced parliament because of covid, but he can go out in a massive crowd like that to protest against "Canadian racism". Makes perfect sense.
  9. I personally don't like stats that divide people up by race at all, but I understand that you're just countering leftist "stats" regarding police misuse of force. The one racial divide that I personally hate is "xx.x% of blacks voted for_______ and xx.x% of white suburban housewives voted for ___________." I don't know how they get that info, don't they have secret ballots in the US? (We all know how flawed their polling is, their accuracy certainly isn't down to 1/10th of a percent.) I also don't I don't know how predicting who blacks/whites are going to vote for is any less racist than saying stupid things like black people like fried chicken. IMO it's worse, because it's like saying that "Black people are so stupid that they believe everything they see on CNN." There's a ton of pressure on black people to vote Dem, and a lot of it comes from the more divisive racists in the Dem party. In my honest opinion, the Dems really rely on racism to get votes, and they do their utmost to keep racist division alive to that extent. Making "black" and "white" stats is a big part of that. Using racial epithets instead of saying black and white would be a more accurate representation of the issue. One last thing that I'll say about these stats that's I'm going to guess is misleading is that a lot of these "blacks" are pretty close to half-white. Maybe even more than 50% in some instances. It's weird to shove all of those stats onto one race and not the other. Is this like a DNA stat, or a brown paper bag stat, or a what colour was their primary caregiver stat? No matter what, it's sick imo. I just hate these stats.
  10. True enough. You could even substitute sexual harassment or scandals for racism and it's still true. As long as I live I don't think I'll see anything more hypocritical than Hillary calling Trump a misogynist, or Dems saying that Trump needs to be investigated for Ukrainian collusion but "Biden doesn't need to be investigated for Ukrainian collusion because we already vetted him ourselves".
  11. Wrong. You are an "equality of outcome" proponent, which is like rewarding people for being lazy and useless. If two responsible people work hard together and do all the right things to raise their kids, why should their children be limited to the same opportunities as the 6th child of a dropout party-girl? What would be the point of people going to college/getting good jobs, or working hard if they can just belch out kids that are guaranteed to have every opportunity to succeed? What would stop people from having 17 kids each? What reason would people have for being responsible parents? You're advocating for a nanny state, where parents aren't involved and the government runs every aspect of a child's life. Governments don't do childcare well. Children deserve the individual attention that only family can give. Strong family units are the core of any healthy community.
  12. The sudden outburst of misinformation about HCQ was insane. MSM sources told all sorts of lies about the side-effects of HCQ, the studies which showed promise were instantly discredited without reason, the results one group (at the VA) which was given HCQ in a non-clinical trial was mischaracterized and heralded as the conclusive/definitive all-time study of HCQ vs covid, people said that the drug couldn't possibly be used as a prophylactic although it has been used like that for malaria for decades, people incorrectly said that Trump was profiting from it in some way (in complete ignorance of the fact that it has been off-patent for decades, and what that actually means), that a drug that combats covid isn't a proper solution - you need a vaccine, etc. Whatever the truth is about HCQ and covid, the seeming desperation of the alt-left to discredit it was bizarre. I don't know if it's because Trump was the first major politician to talk about it in the US, or if it's because there's some sinister plot to force people to take vaccines, but squashing the use of HCQ before it had a chance to be properly tested became priority-one for the left instantly. The funny thing with the vaccine is, the people who are saying "the side effects of HCQ are unknown" are total hypocrites. It's a 60 year old drug. The side effects have been known for a very long time, and proven on the widest test group of people imaginable. Whatever vaccine comes out will obviously be new, and there's no way in hell that it's side-effects can be understood to the same extent that HCQ's side-effects are known. Leftists like nothing more than being led around by the nose by their known-to-be-fabricators media. They're beyond reason.
  13. For sure. Our low population density is a huge protection. We are socially-distanced by virtue of our geography.
  14. How do you think it's possible that Canada is 17th in deaths per million? Do the math Zg... We have the 11th most covid deaths in the world and the 39th highest population... These guys have us 11th: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/ 11th in the world in covid deaths per million, and 187th in the world in population density..... hmmmmmm. How awesome is that? 187th isn't even that great of a metric. There are countries ahead of us that have over 380 people per sq km. There are countries behind us with 350 ppl/sq km. Our pop density is 4. Ontario is 14. Quebec is 8. The Fraser Valley is the most crowded area in BC - 22 people per sq km. Even if you take 1/10th the size of Que with their whole population, their pop density would only be 80. Tokyo metro area has over 6,000 people per sq km and the same population as Canada. 14,000 sq km. Japan's pop density is 350, our is 4, their deaths per million is 7, ours is 208. Even if you subtract the 200 from ours, we're still higher. I understand optimism, but this isn't optimism, it's highly inaccurate and misleading. You're high-fiving other Libs over a huge pile of corpses that shouldn't be there.
  15. Here's CBC, backing Trudeau/Tam/WHO 100%: https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/covid19-travel-bans-1.5495919 Thank you experts, for killing 7,700 Canadians with your "stupidity" [possible treachery]. Here's Global "News", censuring an MP who is smarter than the whole Liberal Party and MSM in Canada: This stupid bimbo even posted a link to name other Conservatives who were 100% right on this issue while Global was playing stupid, and watching Trudeau's six, while Trudeau was dissing the POTUS (who was also right).
  16. It’s getting ridiculous now doing google searches. If you google something obvious like “police killed during 2020 riots” you get a virtual goose-egg regarding the requested subject matter. You do get all sorts of info about police killing people, and GF, and the riots. Google is in the business of editorializing history now. It’s fascism, just like when Antifa attacks people for reporting on their crimes.
  17. Ok Hillary, you don’t know anything. We get it. Why do you yap then?
  18. Back to the topic at hand, over 7,700 Canadians are dead now, and the Trudeau government has fessed up to closing travel too late, and to giving the exact wrong advice re: masks. Lots of us have been saying since the beginning the gov't was wrong on this, are we supposed to believe that we know more about the topic than our top medical official? Japan, where they have the whole population of Canada centred around one city, still has only 907 deaths. We're still ahead of China and India, and those countries have 30x our population. Trudeau: EPIC FAIL. CTV, CBC, GLOBAL "NEWS" - EPIC FAIL.
  19. You need something to back those serious/childish accusations up jacee. I've mentioned your bigotry here before, true enough, but I don't mention it without the facts to back it up. See the photo below. FYI, racism hasn't been proven in the death of GF. No racist comments were made on the video, and the eyewitnesses never even claimed to hear a racist comment. Furthermore, video of a similar death at the hands of police has already been posted in this forum, and racism clearly wasn't involved in that murder. What can be done once with total absence of racism can be done a second time with a total absence of racism. That's just fact. And FYI, what CNN considers to be proof, and what is actually proof, are two completely separate things. CNN just opined, and their opinions aren't worth shit. Even some judges don't know wtf they're talking about when it comes to racist attacks: https://calgaryherald.com/news/crime/indigenous-woman-yells-i-hate-white-people-before-punching-white-woman-but-its-not-a-hate-crime-judge-rules I get that you may be hurting inside from something that you perceive to have happened to you but this is some sick BS to just heap on someone falsely.
  20. I'm comparing the culture within this country, whose history is so deplorable according to you, to the culture which you hold so dear: You're not limiting yourself to talking about where we are and going forward in this thread, you're taking a jab at our past as if it's somehow extremely relevant to the topic of how the left talks/acts in 2020. I'm talking about how you act like the culture of islam is beyond reproach and Canada is a huge work in progress. If you want to take the position that Canada needs to try to step up it's game, that's for certain. No country is perfect, no country will ever be perfect, humans are too far from it. This topic just doesn't jive with the first half of the one above, at all.
  21. The only real Russian dirt was Obama talking to Medvedev when he thought the mic was off, Hillary funneling money through a sleazy law firm to some sleazier Russians for a fake dossier, and what appears to be remuneration for the purchase of Uranium One. There’s an actual Ukrainian collusion story too, and it was caught on video. But you don’t do video, you prefer a conspiracy theory from a well-established source like CNN, whose [lack of] integrity was verified in a defamation suit against a high school kid. For a person with such extreme reasons to hold truth and accuracy in reporting to the highest possible standards you sure are willing to accept your marching orders from known liars, with a blind zeal reminiscent of post WWI era Germany. If I was you I’d be a lot more careful about propagating the screed of known liars.
  22. Keep in mind that in the whole history of the world, this is one of a handful of the most peaceful, least-bigoted societies ever. In order to try to make a point, you’re holding Canadians accountable to a standard that we created, which almost no one else has ever attained. Slavery had been normal, going thousands of years back into pre-history. Conquest and subjugation were normal practices of war. What you perceive as a massive, criminal injustice against a POC here wouldn’t make page 60 of the most liberal newspaper in Iran if it happened to a non-muslim. If you want to be a true SJW, go east young marcus. Your ME culture is still in the dark ages, so your mindless accusations would actually be on point over there. Go ahead and tell the mullahs they’re bigots. I’m sure they’ll change their ways. We both know that if Mohammed’s men had come to North America there’d be no vast tracts of land under aboriginal authority. The aboriginals would all be beheaded or converted and their women and children would be sex slaves. Sadly, genocide and genocidal rape are still regular occurrences in muslim-controlled areas. You’re the worst kind of bigot that there is. A “do as I say, not as my people do” bigot.
  23. To be honest, you're throwing the blanket of "racism" over all of this, but it's not necessarily that. For instance, within the "white race" you'll have big fat guys with long beards and lots of tattoos, wearing leather and denim. They're not all bikers, but they choose that look for a reason. They'd choose a different look if they didn't want to cash in on that style. Similarly, they could have their heads shaved and have tattoos all over. Again, they chose that look for a reason, and if they wanted to be salesmen or TV hosts they'd choose a different look. There are really good reasons for judging people based on their appearance, and you wouldn't always be right, but it would be a mistake to always just ignore it. If I was walking in an unfamiliar neighbourhood and I saw a bunch of young black men wearing hoodies, with their pants down to the bottom of their underwear, I wouldn't assume they were friendly. I'd assume they knew where I could get some drugs. I could be wrong, so what? I could be wrong about the white guys too. People tend to err on the side of caution. It's "classism" at worst, and some classes are prone to violence. I'd agree that he's de-sensitized, along with a lot of other cops. I'd agree that a lot of the people that those cops deal with are de-sensitized and too hard to deal with too. In both groups, there's a line that people cross which means that they have to lose their jobs or go to jail. Those lines should be the same. Problem: I think that in a lot of instances, we are too quick to give too much or too little credibility to one group or they other for their de-senisitization when they cross those lines. I don't care if your mom sucked and your grandma raised you, and she wasn't much better. I don't care if your job is too hard, you can quit. Crime is crime and theres no room for bleeding hearts at sentencing time. In the case of police officers, I think that hyper-liberalization is making their jobs harder than they need to be. Policing has come a long way in the last 60 years, since 1960. But things that the police need to be able to do, like "carding" or "stop and frisk", save lives. More specifically, they save lives in the communities they are working in. Unfortunately most of the people who they deal with in those areas are minorities, but almost all of the lives that they save when the murder rates go down in those areas are also minorities. Liberals are screwing things up at every level and policing is one. The fact that you want to say that you know what was in his mind is highly illogical. He's not necessarily responding to the way the guy looks, he could be responding to the way the guy talks, the fact that he's high, and most likely the fact that he resisted arrest. If the guy was on drugs, the cop would know, and he could be responding to dealing with the same old crackhead problem that he deals with every day. "Lock him up, let him out, try and solve the crimes he commits, lock him up again tomorrow. Rinse - repeat". That's a real thing. One of my friends is an ambulance driver, they revive the exact same people a lot. It's not even rare for people get mad when they are revived, because they feel like "their awesome high" just got wasted and now they need to do whatever nasty things they need to do to get more drugs so that they can OD again. It's a thankless job, but at least the ambulance attendants don't deal with physical and verbal (thanks hyper-lefties) abuse. With all due respect, what you don't know in this case is probably a lot more than what you know, the same with the rest of us. At this stage, there are a lot of key people who played a role in the filming or the arrest in this case who are actively trying to deceive us all. We'll never know the truth, unless some audio and video comes out that we haven't had access to yet. You're making very big, key assumptions here which are much more unlikely than a resisting arrest scenario. You're also making the assumption that the officer never hears people faking how much pain they're in, or how much they're being abused when they know there's an angry liberal pointing a camera at them. I can guarantee that happens. I've seen videos before which were edited to make cops look bad. (what this cop did was murder, but let's not act like we know exactly what happened, and exactly what he was thinking, and exactly why he did the things that he did, WHEN WE DO NOT) C'mon Rue, you're way smarter than this. He abused that guy, and murdered him, but like I said earlier, he definitely (and I'm not guessing here) has run into people who acted like they were dying before when a camera came out. It's what people do. Check youtube for a police abuse video and you'll find lots of examples of people who are hamming it up. Lots of editing hatchet-jobs. It's no excuse, but there's also no excuse for pretending to know his exact thought process, and know that it was racism for certain. The videos of the exact same thing happening to a white guy are actual examples of how this can happen without the issue of race being a contributing factor.
  24. What a crock of shit. Are you really that dumb? "Thanks for the hundreds of billions. Here's 4." Here's how "placated" Alberta and Saskatchewan feel: the Liberals got 0 seats out of the 48 in Alberta and Saskatchewan, and about 12% of the popular vote. In Western Canada: CPC 71 NDP 15 Lib 15 Grn 2 Ind 1 The Libs have 15 of the 104 seats in Western Canada. This is what prompted the CBC to question Scheer's leadership. Those useless bastards didn't question Trudeau's leadership though, and the BQ got 8 times as many seats in 2019 as they did in 2011. The Liberals just barely beat them, by 2% of the popular vote. It really is time for separation. Unbelievably, things are still going downhill.
