Ford-Kavanaugh Sexual Assault Allegation
WestCanMan replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm not a sheep or I'd be a left wing sycophant. That's what 99% of the media coverage that we get says we should do. Do you think Cooper or Lemon were right about Dr Ford's accusations, or Hannity? Hannity listened to it, spelled out the actual evidence, what did Cooper and Lemon tell you to do? They told you to believe her. FFWD to today: no one believes her, and instead of apologizing for their fake story CNN switches the narrative to "Kavanuagh lacks the right attitude" lol. Which is better? Hannity said that the FBI were corrupt, and it's leaders were showing serious bias in their handling of the Russian collusion case, and that Russian collusion was fake. Sounded like a tall tale at the time - very easy to dismiss as "Fake News". Cooper and Lemon vouch for Russian collusion and don't talk about FBI corruption at all. FFWD to today: FBI leaders are being fired and being investigated for crimes, they're being demoted, Russian collusion is on the scrapheap of old bogus news headlines now. CNN still doesn't talk about FBI malfeasance. So who was right and who was wrong? It's about as close as a fight between Mike Tyson and Mr Bean. -

Lol. You're trying to say that supporting Trump is worse than supporting Clinton or Obama? - Trump had sex with two women who were financially independent and willing partners, while he was married. - Clinton was a serial abuser of his own employees, and an actual rapist, while he was married. Which is far worse? Why would you even go there? You lose a million to zero here.... Obama cemented his position as divider in chief when he made a martyr of a cop killer when he said this: Note the hypocrisy of the first paragraph. All he ever did was cast aspersions on police. Think I'm kidding? He even goes on to do it again in the next two paragraphs lol: -

Be honest dialamah. If the Dems are famous for one thing it’s hypocrisy and you know it. They love Bill Clinton, Barack “I’m a bit of a racist” Obama, Killer Kennedy et al but they’re up in arms against people who are merely accused of far less, and with less or even no credible evidence. Dems are still waiting for Republicans to go low so that they can start to go high. And if you think Dems were ever going high that’s just embarrassing for you. -

Kavanaugh has scores of people willing to publicly testify in his defence. He never lied, he just tried to keep things in perspective. It’s utterly retarded to think that a guy could captain a basketball team, finish first in his law class at the top ivy league school in the USA. Utterly retarded. We all know people who partied too much in normal colleges and universities while taking easy classes. We know how well they all did. The top student in the most elite school in the country in one of the toughest and most competitive courses wasn’t a functioning alcoholic and a party animal. I don’t need a second opinion on that Argus, but kudos for trying. There are 50 million butt-hurt Dem toadies who can’t stand to see Kavanaugh appointed and you’re one of them. I know there’s no reasoning you, you’ll continue to believe in the face of any amount of evidence. I agree with the majority of US Senators, you agree with Gloria Feinstein, Maxine Waters, Hillary Clinton, Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper et al lol. That’s some fine company to be in hey Argus? Lol. -

Wrong. That's not a fact. That's an accusation made by some and refuted by many. And don't forget that Kavanaugh was in university for many years. Not 2, not 4. Many. Over 7 years or so there would have been some big parties where he got really drunk and/or acted out of character. Wrong again. This is what Democrat Senators and left wing news lied about. They are trying to make the case that Kavanaugh's normal behaviour was to get really drunk and belligerent because he had this one incident in a bar where he threw some ice. Am I right? Yes, I'm right. A HUGE DEAL is made of the fact that Kavanaugh was in a bar where he may have started a fight. Spare me the histrionics. This is n o t h i n g. This is not proof that he was a drunken asshole. Again, in true left wing fashion, you're intentionally mischaracterizing an argument to refute it. No proof at all is a long way short of we can't prove that he broke the law. If there was something tangible, something that was even remotely credible, that would be a step towards creating uncertainty about whether or not he did it. There was ZERO. NOTHING! NO UNCERTAINTY AT ALL! That's not in the realm of proving anything or even creating uncertainty or plausibility. It's in the realm of "This is still a work of pure fiction, and the accuser is losing more and more credibility every time she opens her mouth." Every Dem Senator is on TV, radio, and wherever else they can be to say "she has to be believed, he did it, people who don't believe her are misogynists" etc. It was a complete farce and yet it still sucked a lot of people in. Kavanaugh exaggerated his sobriety to help clear his name. To be honest, he put the conversation more sharply towards truth than it was by his own words, so I'm ok with it. The standard for getting appointed to the supreme court almost became "never touched a drink in my life and only kissed one girl and every moment of my life has been recorded on video". If Kavanaugh went down then literally any man could be stopped from becoming a SCJ by a single bimbo. You're not holding anyone to any standards at all. Just Kavanaugh because he may have exaggerated his sobriety. I don't think he dd. Do you know how hard it is to not go party with friends when you're 22? You'll have friends going out almost every night of the week to do something. I believe that he said no to hundreds of nights out. Hundreds. You're not holding Feinstein, Dr Ford, or any of the people who are making RIDICULOUS and extremely serious accusations about Kavanuagh's rape or drinking accountable at all.... Your whole argument is completely at a juvenile level. You're saying "I believe the 3 people who are making accusations about Kavanaugh (Dr Ford, a guy in a bar, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that there's someone else), I don't believe the 4 actual witnesses and hundreds of character witnesses that back BK, even though we already know that several declarative statements that were made by Dr Ford were proven to be lies." Look at your own arguments from someone else's point of view. It's pathetic. -

Sam Harris crosses a line when he said, at the 1:42 mark, that Kavanaugh was confronted by "facts" from the past. There were no facts from the past related to the issue of Dr Ford's accusation at all. Shame on Sam Harris. That was an accusation from the past with less than zero evidence, which is not to be confused with "facts". I say less than zero evidence because everything she tried to use to back her story turned out to be false. Her own witnesses didn't see anything and her PTSD testimony was full of declarative statements that were proven to be lies. He's also predicating half of his opinion on the fact that "people who thought that he should have been confirmed were using the same level of proof that would be required for a guilty verdict in a court of law". 1) That's not true. No one on Fox news was saying that is what was required, and I doubt that there's even one person in America who regularly watches CNN who thought Kavanaugh was innocent. 2) That's neither here nor there, because the level of proof was zero when all the facts were in. If the accusation was backed at all, to the point where a reasonable man thought that plausible suspicion existed, Senators could never have voted in favour of Kavanaugh. The reputation of the entire Republican party was at stake here, with the mid-term elections just weeks away. Their party would have been decimated if they voted to let Kavanaugh sit on that bench with a single, realistic question mark related to sex crimes. He makes a salient point when he says that Kavanaugh lied about his calendar. I'd put it at "might have lied". For starters I don't know what Devil's triangle is. I also don't know that he even did the things that he bragged about on his teen-ager calendar, and lastly, I really doubt that he would have handed the calendar over as exculpatory evidence if Devil's triangle really was a rape game. Why would he volunteer evidence that says "We raped sum bitches up reel good"? It makes me think that it probably wasn't a rape game. There are regional variations of card games, regional variations of what kinds of party games people palyed and what they were called. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Devil's triangle was a drinking agme in that area in the '80's. If he actually played devil's triangle, and it was a rape game, he should not have made it. If there was something else he "lied" about, which was of lesser importance, I don't blame him. Don't forget that there were 48 Dem Senators in the same room lying at that time. He was going with the flow. He also needed to make himself seem like the purest thing since the invention of water because 48 Dem Senators were already saying that "HE WAS GUILTY". When you're in a room with 48 Senators who are saying that you're guilty you really need to pretend that you're perfect. Even if you did basic things like get drunk a few times in high school. We can both agree that her testimony, combined with him saying "I got so drunk a few times in high school that I puked", would have been enough for him to lose that seat. She lied, 48 Dem Senators lied at his hearing and on national TV, he had no choice but tell some little white lies. Does America deserve better than Kavanaugh, if their Senate is becoming so dysfunctional that Kavanaugh needed to do what he did to get that job? It's a sandbox with hardwood floors, and people throw around lies instead of dog poo. Utterly pathetic. I'll admit right now to watching only the first 2 mins of that video, but I saw enough to know it was time to stop listening. He was already too far along the wrong path. -

Bork didn’t get angry when confronted by a pack of sleazy Democrats, led by “Killer” Kennedy. Bork lost his chance to be a SCJ. Don’t be like Bork. Kavanaugh wasn’t there to be dignified, he was there to defend his integrity against a pack of liars. And let’s face it - anyone who’s saying that there was enough evidence to brand Kavanaugh an attempted rapist is a liar, through and through. Anyone on earth could be found guilty of attempted rape if the bar was dropped low enough for Dr Ford’s case to prevail in a court of law, and yet Dems were still acting like the bulk of the evidence supported her claim. It was a disgusting political hitjob and Kavanaugh has nothing to be ashamed of unless he is guilty. -
I always hear about the fake news from Fox, but it's like an urban myth. No one ever provides any proof of it. Do you ever watch Brett Baier's newscast? He's head and shoulders above Lisa LaFlamme etc here. LaFlamme asked this question in all seriousness, with an accusatory tone: "Did Donald Trump commit treason when he asked Russia to look for the 33,000 missing emails?" It's one thing for a casual observer to read the quote in the paper and think it might be serious, but anyone without Asperger's Syndrome knew Trump was making a joke. Should our Canadian broadcasters really be inferring that A POTUS has committed treason when they actually KNOW that he did not? Is that what journalism in this country has come to? They covered the Duffygate for 3 years like it was the most important news story of the decade. $90K total. WTF? Have you compared Hannity's track record to that of Lyin Lemon on CNN, or Rachel Maddow & Lawrence O'Donnel on MSNBC? Evidence of collusion as per all the CNN and MSNBC opinion shows isn't coming, but the people in the FBI that Hannity has been calling out on Fox are falling like bowling pins, and CNN doesn't even talk about it. Isn't it a really big deal when so many members of the FBI are caught red-handed? If they were acting against Obama when this happened they'd all be apoplectic at CNN. They don't report on it, because it runs contrary to their narrative. It's no big d apparently.

A lot of “fake news” FB is just silly crap, meant to suck people in to make comments. Theres no need for fake left wing news on FB, there’s enough on CNN and MSNBC. If you think I’m joking, just think about how many of the stories which are negative or damaging to the Whitehouse come from anonymous sources, smear campaigns (like the Kavanaugh trial), jilted Omarosa, or the BS Russian Collusion drama. If you muted your tv while CNN was talking about things that “only their anonymous sources are privy to”, ie things that they can go on about for weeks but can’t be proven to be fake, what would you have left? Peace and quiet. I watched 15 minutes of disgusting Rachel Maddow one day about 4 months ago. It’s still on my pvr. She starts off talking about a story from an anonymous source, who was quoting someone else who theoretically was present at a Trump meeting, and everyone at the meeting said her quote was bogus. In order to corroborate her story, she referenced another meeting where an anonymous source made another claim that was refuted by everyone present, and then she tells her viewers that there’s a pattern there lol. Yeah we can see it Rachel. That’s why no one with an iq over 75 watches your show. I can make up 50 stories about Obama from anonymous sources, they don’t corroborate each other .

CNN is fake news. Fox News Is fake. MSNBC is fake news. CBC, CTV news is fake. Everyone has heard it. Everyone has an opinion on this. Who has some proof? Links to clips are good, or if you reference things that are common knowledge that's fine, but sites like Snopes that claim to research the truth are to be avoided because they are selective in where they actually search for the truth. Here's an example of a 7KTVB.com "fact check" on Anderson Cooper, who stood in a ditch during a flood: https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/verify/verify-viral-picture-of-anderson-cooper-in-deep-water-is-not-from-florence/507-595175925 LMAO. If the cameras can stay on the road to stay dry, then why can't he? It takes a lot longer to get the cameras out of the way of vehicles than it does for him to just step aside. Also, fences in the background and a house to his left are good reference points for how deep the water actually is. He's standing or kneeling in a ditch, lying about the weather. We all know what ditches are Anderson, we're not that stupid unless there are boobs in our face (hey wait, what's Fox news up to?). The site claims that the accusation is false, based on the fact that the weather event used in some memes was inaccurate, but let's be honest - it doesn't matter where or when it occurred, only that he did what he did. Side note: If you want to see a textbook example of an anti-America, radical extremist gateway site, check out AJ+ on FB. Their formula is pretty solid, but their agenda is sickening. Here's how they roll: - Post lots of warm, fuzzy stuff to give the impression of being a positive site, dedicated to finding the best of humanity. Make that seem like your brand. - Do solid in-depth reporting on non-politically charged events. - Find true stories about despicable acts that were committed by Americans, as far as 100 years ago or more, exaggerate and skew them, and insinuate that the actions taken in that moment are representative of all Americans up to and including today (ie white Americans). Especially slavery, which is only ever viewed as purely an American phenomenon. (Truth be told America is 240 or so years old and slavery has been illegal for more than half of that time. Compare that with areas like Iran (aka Persia) where slavery had a solid 4,000 year run, and only ended when the rest of the world ended it for them). - Post more warm, fuzzy stuff. - Distance terrorism from Islam at all costs, and never talk about Islamic State period. But whenever a terrorist attack is committed by someone of a different religion; go in depth, give every single victim a sweet, loving face and a heartwarming backstory. - Glorify Palestinian violence. Ignore the fact that their terrorism ever has anything at all to do with Israeli security efforts. - Post more warm, fuzzy stuff.

What the Democrats tried to do with Kavanaugh, and what they've been doing ever since the election, is a disgrace to Democracy. I knew that Hillary was the type of person who should never get near the levers of power after I saw her first interview after Bill's Monica Lewinski confession - she's pure greed & lust for power with no hint of humanity or conscience. I've tried to dig up that interview a few times on google and it doesn't come up, it's like they scrubbed it. Incredibly revealing of the heartless person that she is. The whole Democrat party seems to be of the same ilk. There's nothing I like less than a hypocrite, and the Dems and their Hollywood elite useful idiots who stand behind the likes of Bill Clinton, Roman Polanski, Keith Ellison and Ted "Killer" Kennedy have absolutely no room whatsoever to talk about someone like Kavanaugh, who doesn't even have a shred of evidence against him in his entire lifetime. Just a vague accusation from stupid liberal bimbo straight out of Palo Alto School for the Politically Challenged. That's actually like a character reference in my books. -

They're unhinged. They've always gone low but this is a step too far now. Hillary is openly calling for an end to "civility" as if they even knew what that was before. The open hostility of the Dems and the leftists in Hollywood etc has already resulted in one Senator being shot, another assaulted in his own back yard, and several members of the trump Government facing hostility all over the country. You say it's going to get much worse, that's a really pathetic thing for you to say Michael Hardner, because there's no cause for it to get worse. It's not just Hillary either, Booker and Maxine Waters have been endorsing this crap for a while now. Class, class, class. They're even praising Antifa on CNN (Chris Cuomo is anyways). It's completely out of hand. The government, or even the opposition, should never even condone much less openly call for these types of actions. There's no good reason. They're disgusting hypocrites whose only chance to get votes is to stoke division within the country. Honestly: "You guys chose Trump instead of Hillary the snake" isn't a reason for open hostility. That's a time of rejoicing. Can you imagine a government led by Hillary Clinton, Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi et al? That's even worse than having Trudeau, Climate Barbie and the snivelling sycophants of our own government, and it takes a lot for me to admit that a government could be worse than our own. -

Bloomberg says $700B. Obama ran 4 deficits larger than that. Supposedly the US is posting a $116B surplus for Sept. The US deficit includes military spending like we have never seen in Canada, and over $500B in interest payments. Trump isn’t killing off his energy sector while he’s doing this, he’s not giving away stupid money like Trudeau, he’s not asking for hordes of illegal immigrants to come get free money either. If Trudeau was somehow getting us ahead that would be one thing. He’s not. He’s doing shameless self-promotion at our expense.- 223 replies

USA Sinks into Authoritarinism
WestCanMan replied to ReeferMadness's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm happy for Obama's economic recovery, and the increased oil production. I recognize that Obama took the reins in an extremely tough time. I know that the massive debt that he piled up was mainly due to the stimulus package that he had no choice but push through. I actually liked Obama up until 2015 - I never really followed him that closely before that. I'm also happy that Trump is continuing that trend of increasing oil volume. I never explicitly gave him credit for every drop of it, I merely juxtaposed his stance on oil against our own PM's stance. Trudeau is actively against Oil and he has said publicly that phasing out the Oil Sands is our goal. Then people wonder why so much investment goes away. FWIW wilbur, Trump's GDP growth is faster than Obama's GDP growth. That's due to decreased regulations and tax cuts. It was evident that the economy was going to go up when the Dow Jones went ballistic after the election, in anticipation of the things Trump said he would do. (He did them.) That was an indication that businesses believed it was a good time to invest in American businesses, and it's why the economy accelerated upwards. That's what Trump is taking credit for. That, and decreased unemployment, lower than where it's ever been in many cases. Side note about this video: the guy references Trump's lies, and like everyone else who does that, all he has to talk about is the number of people at the inauguration lol. Trump saw a big crowd, he thought it was the biggest ever, they dug up transit ridership info because that was all that they had readily available, he determined that his crowd was biggest based on that data, and he was wrong to do that. It's completely dishonest to say that it was "lying" when he was just "wrong" unless you know what was actually going through his mind at that moment, but that's what fake news does. Jump to the worst possible conclusion and sell it hard. Trump was being arrogant. He was guilty of hubris. But he didn't "lie" at that moment and that's a hugely important distinction. Lying is like what Hillary did regarding dead people in Iraq. Lying was when Trump said he'd show his tax returns. Lies vs being wrong, and not even about anything remotely important.- 223 replies

1) Our government actually IS killing our energy sector. Killing coal, phasing out the oil sands, chasing away roughly $100 billion in investment.... Are you trying to take me literally at 100% of the energy sector? I thought people would understand that I was speaking about but I guess I should have been more specific. And there's no way that the Trump government is piling up debt faster than the Trudeau government, in relation to our respective GDPs. If you read what you copied and pasted you can clearly see that I'm talking in the present tense about what the Trudeau/Trump governments are doing right now, and not about how much debt our countries both accumulated in our history. I said "Canada is in a far worse state than the US in that regard" beside #5, which is in response to your #5, which says "What tools will there be to fix the mess after a crash, with interest rates already low and debt already high?" I thought that you were talking about household debt, that's why I included house prices. The reason why I find it so appalling that our government is so happy to do both things at the same time - kill off two large parts of our energy sector and pile up massive debt - is because Canada is a high energy consumption nation. We drive long distances to work, we need to heat homes for 40 million Canadians all winter long.... If we have high debt, and our credit rating drops, and we have to use our ever-depreciating dollar to import energy from abroad, and we have less people paying taxes from those high-income jobs that were lost.... That's a multi-faceted kick in the head. We're getting speed-bagged.- 223 replies
