  1. Let's think about this. Why does he need to play with his base? His base is the strongest out of the top 3 parties. I don't buy this argument one bit.
  2. If the guy has a belief, he can make it known. To me, the other two leaders are the ones still harping about this. To be brutally honest, if you were Harper, would you want to talk about an issue which could screw you over in the polls (niqab) or stuff about the TPP? I mean, come on, if you really think it's the former, then I'm not going to waste any cycles talking about this. As much as any Leftie may hate Harper, I think it's safe to say he's a smart politician.
  3. He was asked during an interview if he would consider extending it. He didn't bring it up on his own. Again i'm looking for a cite of what you said. Here's a hint, read the top 3 comments in the very article you posted.
  4. you're wasting your time with facts.
  5. Proof? for the following. 1) First thing out of his mouth 2) Whenever Harper sets foot in QC as of late.
  6. Unlike you and others, I think Harper did damn well in his time in government wrt protecting our economy. There's a perverse part of me that wants Trudeau to win, so he can plunge this country into deficits and so we can see what a moron he is by running Canada like Wynne has run Ontario. At the end of the day, the people who really pay are the middle class. Maybe a GST hike, maybe a tax hike, but it doesn't affect me nearly as it affects the traditional middle class. So perhaps, I want a bit of revenge if this all pans out the way the polls do. I get to look and remain smug while I can then say "I told you so" to the "middle" class who voted for him.
  7. I know he puts money in my pocket. Full stop. The other vitriol I'm just going to shrug and go, meh. I could bring up the sponsorship scandal you know?
  8. Goes to show that those who can "do", and those can't, "teach".
  9. Is this for real? Harper barely brings this up. It's brought up for him during debates (e.g. the mods will ask) and has been an "issue" to the government since before the election. Divisive politics? Try Trudeau and Mulcair for making this a big deal
  10. I have said this before. I wholeheartedly agree. Pick the party that best aligns to your value and vote for that party. Yes, is it democratically ok to strategically vote, sure. Just like it's my right to not vote or to fudge on a ballot and to cast an empty ballot or whatever, but it's to me, morally wrong.
  11. You're nuts. It's the other way around. Full stop! Precisely. The problem with the Lefties? entitlement. If you can't afford kids, too fricking bad. It's not your damn right!
  12. Bang on. If the government takes money away from me, I'm far less generous with the money I donate. Under the Conservative government, I have donated far more than previously under the Liberal government.
  13. WOW. I thought I was the only one!!!
  14. Shit. I freaking forgot about the carbon tax. I remember owning a small business and when they hiked my taxes back in the day (its a while back now), I remember deciding whether or not I should increase my profit, offsetting my taxes, by letting someone go. I did, every time. Food for thought! I'm a salaried employee now, so it's slightly different, but I am sure that it will affect our 2.5 billion $ business/yr - Canadian sub only
  15. So far as I can tell, loss of the increased TFSA Income splitting doesn't help me and the wife... A potential tax increase in the future. I come dangerously close to the $200k mark but I don't cross it so I don't get taxed more under the moronic Liberal tax increase. How else am I screwed? At this point if people vote liberal (and they win a minority government), I'd like to know how I'm affected. Am I missing anything? (ps no kids, and don't want kids)
  16. Violating democratic principles? What a joke. The entitlement of the left is such a joke. Want something you can't afford? Go make more money. I can't wait for the tax hikes to start to affect the middle class. The rest of us will watch with pleasure.
  17. Since when was making more money a bad thing?
  18. 'Tis the beauty of a democracy
  19. The question then in lies whether or not that momentum can be sustained. My guess is "no".
  20. I'm at work, so I cant do enough research but IIRC the Abacus poll this AM showed a statistical tie between the Liberals and the Conservatives?
  21. Maybe because it's because I'm on my phone...where does it show this?
  22. Is this poll tracked? - what's this daily vote tracker thing? http://ipolitics.ca/hcn/the-ekos-poll/
  23. At this point, I do not think that Canadians even know that much about the TPP. Most people aren't like us!
  24. What days do each of the polls come out? I know that Nanos is nightly EKOS is Friday? How about the others? Is there a pattern?
