The important point in your post is WHEN CRITICISM IS WARRANTED. So it must be fact based with proof provided rather than claims or accusations that many believers in that religion may deny and will be offended. Also not to blame the religion for the actions of individuals who claim to represent that religion or be a believer (For example some clergy murdering for power or self proclaimed believers murder and rape in some parts of the world or some so called clergy in other parts molesting children in the past or present don't blame it on that particular religion).. Also even if fact based it must not incite hate or violence against the believers of such religion. By saying "the way they are born" i was referring to gays that now it is a scientific fact that homosexuality is not a choice but a born thing and so is race and national origin and to lesser extend religion (because the latter can be abandon or changed later in life so in adulthood it becomes a choice). By weaker I was referring to women who are generally speaking physically weaker than men (though I believe generally again having bigger hearts and minds so it is balanced). By defenseless I was referring to children and sometimes women too. I believe any kind of violence or crimes against women and children needs special consideration (and so should hate crimes) and should receive special punishment. Yes I do believe in capital punishment for these special crimes if murder and rape is involved.
-
As for Argus, if those are proven facts rather than claims that such religion allows or encourages those acts (as many believers of that religion would deny part or all of that) then the facts may be stated with proof and without inciting people to attack or take action against people who may believe in that religion. As for bcscaper, my comment was about those losers or psychos or self-failures or retards (in the sense of the way they think not mentally challenged) who attack people for the way they are born or the weaker and defenseless,
-
Yes the laws and the people who carry out the discussing acts.
-
Backwards, hateful, disgusting and remember Europe (still some European countries like Russia do) and Canada had such laws not long ago. So hopefully the rest will catch up.
-
One word. Losers. First kind Those who have achieved less or achieved nothing in most part out of their own fault either not working hard enough or not having the brain, then blame others for their loss (anti-immigrants) Second Kind Those who need desperately to Feel good about themselves by putting down others. These are true losers that they need to find an excuse to not feel bad about themselves or hide their weaknesses by revealing likely weaknesses in others (this type usually goes against gays and colored people) - Gay bashing and racists. Third - Those who see themselves (falsely) as perfect and born to rule and others as inferiors (I classify them as psychos)
-
It appears to me that as usual a few anti-immigrants who by the way are in a tiny minority in Canada have comments to forward their agenda. They are called reactionary in my book. Those who always look back and not forward. Those who wish to go back in time and are against social progress and justice (for the minority) and most importantly against change. They wish to see a White Christian based (or Christian dominated) Canada. Wake up people whether you like it or not the clock is moving forward. Unless you can invent a time machine and go back in time Canada will never go back to 1800's and 1900's. The world is multicultural and so is and will be Canada since Canada is on this planet. What we can do is may be to change our immigration policy so that we can SELECT the best of people from all regions of the world who can contribute to better Canada but regardless of race, color, nationality but with progressive minds and skillful hands and educated brains. There are many hard working skillful highly educated progressive people in many countries and that includes middle east. Lets give them a chance rather than exclude them. As for criticizing any religion again I stand by what I said. There is a limit to freedom of speech in every democracy and the logical limit is not to incite violence or hate against any group of people, If offending other people is not against the law (like throwing a four letter word on a passerby which one may not like or the other F word on apparent gays and lesbians) then it should be.

First of all this is not a Christian country but belongs to all religions and races who are citizens of this country equally. True, people of Christian background are in majority 10% of which are practicing Christianity but the country doesn't belong to them exclusively because they are in a majority.. Now considering the civilized fact that respect for individuals and fellow citizens is necessary and disrespect should and is against the law then there is a limit to what can be said or acted upon in any advanced society.. It is for living in harmony and peace that we have these laws. Whether we like it or not the planet we live in is multicultural. This means both people looking different and living differently and believing differently. That includes this country too and may be to a lesser extend any other country. In this country the Straight Christian Caucasians are in majority. It is not just a matter of political correctness not to offend the minority (those not straight or Christian or Caucasian)? I don't think so. It is being respectful to other people. Not to cause riots and disturbance (the oppressed will always fight back) or harm a fellow citizen (inciting violence) or worse a civil war. That said it should be allowed and I think is allowed to state the facts (for example certain religion or religions may encourage or allow inequality or murder called honor killing or forced hejab) and criticize it (based on norm standards) however not to encourage violence against those people who believe in them (exercising them though is and must be against the laws of this country and in my view any civilized country but our laws will deal with it).

There is always a limit to any freedom in any democracy. For example you can drink but you cannot drink and drive. you can have sex but not in public places, you can be nude at home or specific places but not in public, you can speed as long as you don't endanger others on the road, ......similarly when it comes to freedom of speech or expression, you can say what you want as long as you don't insult (like using offensive words) or offend or hurt other people who may or may not differ in beliefs or looks from you. Nothing ridiculous about this. If we have this law then it is legitimate. Your right to freedom of any kind does not overrule or exceed other people's freedoms to safety, integrity or living in peace. Speech also must not incite hatred or violence. In a democracy people regardless of their religion, color, status. wealth, gender, race, origin, orientation are equal and have equal rights.

Fixing What Harper Broke: A to-do list
CITIZEN_2015 replied to marcus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Wow, then may be I should have married the Russian beauty I met last year when travelling Europe as I could have her two years in return for her citizenship lol. But seriously I am not sure that it will go completely unchecked as the post above is insinuating, like divorce the next day after arrival and she can retain her immigration status??!!. -
Iran's election: Early polls
CITIZEN_2015 replied to WestCoastRunner's topic in The Rest of the World
Iran will be a democracy at the end. Struggle for democracy has been going on for over a century and is deeply rooted in their history. The hard liners trying hard to delay the inevitable as far as they can though. -

This is another false statement. My post is still on previous page. Incredible how you make up things to get yourself out of hole.I clearly say as below that 18 billion dollar of that is what they inherited from the Cons not the whole 30 billion!!!!. -
Iran's election: Early polls
CITIZEN_2015 replied to WestCoastRunner's topic in The Rest of the World
I have said again and again on this forum that I have had many Iranian friends in my life in unversities I attended (student, teacher)over 15 years as well as work places and they are anything but what has been depicted falsely by CIA and Mossad and western propaganda machines as religious fanatics or even religious. They are very westernized and progressive and the nation of Iran is the most educated in the world with two-thirds of university students being females who spend more per capita on makeups than anywhere in the world (and the west has tried to large extend successfully to depicts Iran like Saudi Arabia where women can't even vote). When the people of Iran vote then they show all the facts above, Even though most of the progressive candidates were eliminated by the non-elected Assembly which consisted of aging elderly mullahs but whenever there is even a slot of opening and the people's votes is legitimately counted and not rigged then the nation of Iran shows their real color (elect those few progressives who may have survived the vetting process). Whether it is a democracy or not is not my point as we have different ways of defining democracy (in my view the vetting process was undemocratic and it appears that the voting process and count was democratic. The Presidential election in 2013 was another display of democracy. Presidents and Parliament have both limited powers in Iran though and the real power stays with the unelected body but on the other hand it is the elected body (the Assembly of Experts) which elects the unelected power. Confusing yes but some may say it is indeed a democracy and many others say not even close. Iranians don't want another revolution (one told me one revolution is enough for a lifetime) or see their homeland turn into another Iraq or Syria. They are progressive and democratic westernized people and they want democratic change through ballot boxes not violence even though it may take a long time to achieve it. The West however doesn't care. It supports its interests even if they have to support the most evil regimes if their interests call they will support and promote it and they have demonstrated this fact again and again. Right now they see their interests go with so called moderates.................. The latest says the so called reformist have taken both the parliament and Assembly!!! At least in Tehran. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-35681250 -
Fixing What Harper Broke: A to-do list
CITIZEN_2015 replied to marcus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Only $5 investment on infrastructure will not do much to an over $1800 billion economy. It is like trying to start up a Jambojet with a matchstick!!!!!. I heard that they plan to invest about $10. Are you sure about the $5 billion figure? -
Fixing What Harper Broke: A to-do list
CITIZEN_2015 replied to marcus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It was Liberasl forecast dummy!!!!!. Liberals said the deficit will be $18.4 billion and that does not include infrastructure investment and they had said before they plan to invest about $10 billion on infrastructure this year. -

CITIZEN_2015 replied to marcus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We are actually close to 30 billion in red. That is the deficit liberals inherited from the conservative government and falling oil prices and much slower growth than the Con regime forecast (about $18 billion) and another 10 billion to get us out of the slow growth the Con regime created and slower economic growth by investing on infrastructure. We will be out of it in about 6 - 7 years. A dejavu of what happened under the former Con government in 2009 when they had to invest on infrastructure (to keep us from falling into depression) and slow economy causing a $55 billion deficit and then followed by growth and close to balanced budget 7 years later except that the balanced budget never occurred as we were hit by another economic turmoil (falling oil prices). -

Another Harper mess is fixed by democratic Liberal government. C-24 which created second class citizens for dual citizens (even those born here) was partly repealed today. Well done Liberal government. http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=1036039 Now it is time to do more fixes of the mess Harper and his injustice minister created. REPEAL C-36. AMEND C-51. -
Liberal deficit set at 18.4 billion
CITIZEN_2015 replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The oil industry alone saved Canada from a depression!!!!!!! Quite an statement up there. Btw, oil was only betweem $50 to $60. Not $100+ because worldwide credit crunch dampened demand. -
Liberal deficit set at 18.4 billion
CITIZEN_2015 replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The only good policy that the Cons under Harper had in all 10 years of miserable rule was to save Canada from a depression that plagued the world in 2008 and 2009 and with your post you are pasing on the credit even for that single good deed to Liberal and NDP screaming for spending? You are saying the conservative government in 2009 only acted (or submitted) to Liberal and NDP asking for spending that saved Canada from a depression. Yes and the deficit we will have now is not going to be 55 billion dollars either. -

Thank you for the fine list of great accomplishments and all achieved in just 100 days. Just imagine how much more he and his government can do in 1000 more days in his first mandate or even in this many more mandates in the remaining many years to come. -

CITIZEN_2015 replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Conservative hypocrites have some nerve to criticize this budget deficit. And Ambrose was part of the Harper government in 2009 when Canada was in economic downturn (not because of low commodity prices) and they (Ambrose included) took a 14 billion dollar surplus they inherited from liberals and turned it into a 55 billion dollar deficit in 2009 by infrastructure spending and it took them some 6-7 years to get close to balanced budget. http://www.cbc.ca/news/multimedia/canada-s-deficits-and-surpluses-1963-to-2015-1.3042571 -

The fact that you are speaking out against the government or their actions and you are free and not in jail under torture is a proof that Canada is a democracy. In non-democratic places the secret police or intelligence agents or agency traced the writer's IP or email in many cases even when they use vsp and raid their homes, arrest them, take them to jail, beat the crap out of them and forced them to confess that they work for some communist party or CIA or that they are paid traitors. We read about the victims all the time. Another sign of democracy is that we can change our government by our votes as this happened just a few months ago. Unlike dictatorships that one criminal idiot has the power for life and whoever oppose him will end up in jail or shot or raped. The liberals did have a platform that included Syrian refugees and the foreign aid has always been on their platform even though they may not have explicitly expressed it because it was so obvious they are not going to suddenly stop what a right wing previous government even was doing. They are ultra right parties in Canada who like yourself oppose all these. I don't wish to name them because I am oppose to them and don't wish to give them publicity. They never get that many votes because a big majority are like me don't like them. Even the National front in Britain in spite of racial tensions there don't get that much vote Even in France and Germany where racial tension is real high these parties don't get enough votes even to form the opposition. because people know what would happen if they are elected. Memories of Nazi Germany are still fresh in minds or written in histories as atrocities they commuted and human miseries they caused and most Canadians and even Europeans don't want a repeat. NEVER AGAIN.. -

CITIZEN_2015 replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes they do have the right. They put forward a platform which included foreign aid and 25000 Syrian refugees and the nation (Canadian voters) elected them with a majority so that they carry out their platform and promises. This is how democracy works and we are blessed to be living in a democracy rather than a dictatorship where ONE idiot likely a criminal bastard decides for the whole nation how their country should be run. The tax money is not only your money but it is our money and the majority of us voted and mandated this government to give billions to foreign aid as you claim by electing them to represent us, govern our country and spend OUR money the way they said they would prior to election. I am sure there are a few ultra right political parties in Canada who may wish to carry out your agenda. Close our borders and stop all foreign aid, no more refugees and no more non-white immigrants but they did not form a government they didn't even get enough vote to get one MP elected to parliament. Why because thank God Canadians who are selfish and uncaring about world suffering are very few and again thank God for Thee. -

Before belonging to Canada or Canadian society or white race or any race we belong to human race. Even if we are not responsible for the miseries abroad we still have a duty to help if we can help. That said if you feel that you only belong to Canadian society that is your right but still no excuse not to help out with those charities who help the poor and needy and runaway children and shelter abuse women in Canada. And there are plenty if you need a list PM me or simply Google search. -

My post is still u there. It doesn't say that Argus said immigration should be limited to white people but rather as you said that immigration should be reduced and be from Europe and avoid those who are culturally different like muslim countries (as you acknowledged too). My post did say that he admired the white skin and called other people as brown people in his posts. -

CITIZEN_2015 replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am not going to waste my time and search for specific areas of your posts where you admired the white and opposed what you called brown people and asked for reduced immigrants and immigrants to be from Europe (in fact it was a couple of your posts in the "Immigration thread which made sense to me and changed my mind about immigration policies as before that I used to support equal opportunity immigration regardless of the continent) and now I believe in reduced immigrant and mainly from Europe. I let the readers to pass a judgement as who (you or me) is lying here. You have posted so many times about all these that one has to have a serious amnesia not to remember your anti-immigrant, pro white anti brown, anti muslin pro conservative posts.
