  1. Exactly this. It is not provisional Attorney's General's job or qualifications to rule on the constitutionality pf a FEDERAL bill. It is Supreme Court's. REPEAL THE HARPER BILLS NOW AS THE LIBERALS PROMISED or send them to SCC for rulings on their constitutionality!!!!!.
  2. It was Harper and his corrupt regime who was picking fights with Ontario premier NOT the other way round. In fact he refused to meet her for many months in spite of many requests. I said it earlier one person cannot decide on the constitutionality of this bill but only a group of judges at the SUPREME COURT of CANADA. It is unconstitutional because the laws imposed by Harper and his stooges in the manipulative way they did is much worse than the laws already struck down and ruled unconstitutional on the grounds that they were jeopardizing the safety of sex workers. That was why the injustice minister MacKay refused to send the bill to SCC to test its constitutionality. Why is it so hard for you to understand, Would your conscious be clear when (and it is not a matter of if but when) God forbid a sex worker or many get killed because of these laws??? Read about Robert Pickton the bastard and how he took advantage of the old laws to slaughter so many innocent women. These laws (Bill C-36) are much worse and would take more victims in the future. ps - I have issues posting on this forum recently (or saving) as it take a long time to save. Does anyone else have this issue??
  3. So immigration should be only open to rich countries? The fact is that Canada has an immigration point system for which immigrants have to score certain point to qualify for immigration. Many of immigrants are doctors and engineers and become taxpayers for decades and contribute very positively to this society and some others are investors who come here open up a business and hire Canadians and then you had to go and pick up a barely literate olive farmer from Syria as a typical immigrant!!!!!!!!!. I do accept that adaptability should be given more weight in our immigration system which means those from Europe and North American continent should stand better chances for immigration (and those already adopted to advanced cultures with high education who may live in third world countries).
  4. You keep on saying that Argus. The Attorney General of Ontario is not qualified by himself rule on the constitutionality of this bill. The Ontario premier also did not wish to pick a fight at the time with these gangsters. Refer the damn bill to the Supreme Court of Canada for a ruling on this very likely unconstitutional bill which was pushed thought parliament in a very manipulative and deceptive manner typical of Harper and his stooges (MacKay) and is endangering the lives of the most vulnerable people who are citizens of this country.
  5. Well then read posts # 7, 26 and 28. They were responses to YOUR posts. No I don't believe street prostration is widespread or voters are unhappy not sure where you got all these. Read the attached link and many other links describing how safe and clean prostitution is in New Zealand. I am not an advocate of prostitution even I am against its legalization but it should be decriminalized to become safe and taxable. http://nypost.com/2015/05/21/why-sex-workers-love-their-jobs-in-new-zealand/
  6. Yes I do realize that as 10 years of Harperism caused so much damage that it is really hard and time consuming to clean up the mess left behind and that is why they still enjoying my strong support as apparent from all my posts but there is a limit to my timeline as it doesn't take that much time and efforts to repeal a few bills.
  7. The previous laws were ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of Canada because the old laws jeopardized the safety of sex workers and Harper regime in retaliation and because of its contempt for the Supreme Court which is the Vanguard of constitution and democracy in this country brought in new laws, manipulated the debates in the parliament (by refusing to consult sex workers who were most affected and excluding them from speaking and only calling their own witnesses) and abusing their majority to push it through the parliament in spite of all advice they received against the bill just in order to please their own core support (the religious right) without consideration for the safety of citizens. The new laws are much worse than the old ones ruled unconstitutional by SCC!!!!!!!!!!!!. Liberals promised to repeal bill C-36. https://nowtoronto.com/news/the-now-guide-to-the-2015/ndp-liberals-greens-commit-to-repealing-anti-sex-work-law/ Do it or it will be a broken promise and they will lose my support if they don't soon!!!!
  8. Don't you ever read my post responded to you???. You have posted these before in response to my earlier related posts a few months ago and I responded which you did not respond back (which I assumed you were satisfied with my responses) and here we are again!!!!!!!!. I said that Cities can bring by-laws to allow only in certain areas or zones (for example to exclude residential areas). And NO I meant appealing to religious fanatics. Those who think they have the word from God to impose their ideology upon the rest of the nation (the ones you oppose to in your posts but only when they are in the middle east). I also said that the New Zealand model of prostitution law has achieve significant success in that country and can be adopted as a model and this is not a model suggested by left or right but they had the safety of workers who are the most vulnerable in mind. I had explained in my post in details what this model is. While punishing pimps and abusive Johns it protects workers (no unprotected sex or activity or violence for example is allowed). I have also explained in part why C-36 is harmful to sex workers in post# 28.
  9. Yeah I hate to see that these people (ISIS, Al Qaeda .....) actually succeeding in their goals and what bugs me most is that most people likely like yourself don't even realize it. Their purpose was NOT to defeat the western democracy militarily. With all their stupidity and fanatism they know they can NEVER defeat west by military means but their goal WAS TO CHANGE OUR DEMOCRATIC WAY OF LIFE. They attack the night clubs and bars and democratic institutions. They are gradually destroying western democracies and Harper played into right into their hands by imposing bills like C-51 and C-24 ,,,,,,, (and some other western democracies which you listed did too).
  10. Well may be you don't care when it comes to the lives and safety of certain workers likely because of the job that they do and you don't agree with (no wonder you admire Harper, and his regime including MacKay) but do NOT say that no one else cares either. Not everyone on this board or this country is so judgmental that when I say in my post C-36 puts the lives and safety of certain citizens in jeopardy and would respond no one cares!!!!!. Shame . So just because it is originated from Sweden then it must be right right?. Even in Sweden they are now thinking of reversing this law. http://www.bayswan.org/swed/swed_index.html Sweden is a different society. Feminism is to the EXTREME is Sweden. While I strongly believe in total equality of women and men I do not believe what I call feminazism (feminism to the extreme even superiority of females). It was a coalition of feminazis and religious right which brought in this type of laws in Sweden in 1999 and it has been a failure. In Sweden (almost like Saudi Arabia) certain Gender have little rights. Just happened to be the other gender in this case.
  11. I have already discussed a few ideological and/or stupid bills passed by previous Harper regime who abused their majority and passed them in a manipulative manner typical of former Harper regime. In this same thread I have discussed at length the harms that bill C-36 has done and will continue to do to a certain sector of the society (those employed in sex industry) by putting their lives in danger not to mention that very likely it is unconstitutional. The Cons pushed this bill through in a very manipulative way in order to appeal to their core support (what I call as religious right or fanatics) without any regards for the safety of the citizens. Liberals promised to repeal this law and hopefully to bring new laws to best protect the workers and put abusive pimps and Johns behind bars for a long time. I have discussed the harm that bill C-51 would do to our democracy. Police will now have the power to preventatively arrest more people without a warrant and that is my most concern. As the liberals said and promised they should amend bill C-51 to protect our nation WHILE also protecting our rights and freedoms. We don't wish to become like some dictatorships in which the police can kick down your doors without proper warrant or cause and put you in jail for an unlimited period or until found not guilty. This law CAN affect all sectors of the society randomly. Also bill C-24 creates two types of citizenships. Those sectors of our society who are dual citizens even if they are born here can be subjected to deportation. In other words they are second class citizens. I believe EVERYONE who is found guilty of listed crimes in bill C-24 must be arrested and punished according to the laws of THIS country. A few very valid ones also mentioned above by On Guard for Thee.....
  12. There is a long list of bills imposed by Harper regime as some outlined very well by OP and in my view the new liberal government is moving TOO SLOW to repeal them while various sectors of the nation continue to pay a price for some of those ideology-based stupid laws.
  13. Justin Trudeau the undisputed most popular Prime Minister: I was watching the latest fifth estate on CBC in which Canadians from different background were asking questions from Justin Trudeau and amazed how at ease the Prime Minister was at responding to all these diverse questions and concerns from a very diverse crowd of Canadians and at the same time to the best he could reassuring them that the future will be bright for them and how the Federal Government is using the power it has to the maximum and also working with provinces to address their concerns or resolve their issues. He was so down to earth and honest and confident at the same time and at the end walked over to the crowd and shock hands men and hugged the women and the audience loved him and appreciated his responses and friendliness . The last wording was that the future would be bright for everyone. Quite a contrasts to the uncaring arrogant heartless Harper who refused even meet the press during his miserable term. Most of the people who came to Prime Minister's office to interview him were appreciative of his challenges and his accomplishments so far only 10 weeks into the office. Justine is the undisputed most popular prime minister of Canada and the honeymoon would last years if not decades.
  14. Canadian companies especially Bombardier buoyed by partial lifting of Canadian sanctions on Iran: Billion of dollars expected in coming years http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/canada-lifts-some-sanctions-against-iran/article28599830/
  15. Not sure what you are implying but in 15 years when I am retiring I will be getting MY OWN money and this will be the money that I a am paying NOW deposited in bank for my pension years otherwise I would save this $10,000 annual contributions to MY pension myself and in 35 working years ii will be over half a million dollars (my payments plus interests) as my own direct payments plus an equal half a million more by my employers. So I don't feel in 15 years the young will be paying charity to me in my pension years or a wealth transfer from young to old as I said it is my own money (over a million dollars) which I am working hard for it and by law they take it away from me now to save it for my future.
  16. Conservative surplus was nothing but political manipulations and a lie based on Voodoo math...... http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/tory-plan-to-save-900m-with-new-sick-leave-plan-based-on-voodoo-math-liberal-house-leader-says
  17. Canada lifting some economic sanctions. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-iran-economic-sanctions-1.3435675
  18. First nations were not exiled to camps like the ones in Siberia or put in prison and tortured as this was the case for millions of Russians during the Soviet era and many thousands died for simple opposition to Soviet regime. Again I am an outsider here when it comes to Russia but a Russian Resident or citizen who lived in both eras can comment and most likely would say that first nations were much better off than Soviet citizens in terms of political freedom or standard of living compared to Russian natives in Siberia.
  19. Again I can't comment on something that I am an outsider
  20. Yes Libya has done it. Egypt has done it. Syria is dong it...................... All through violent means and none achieved democracy or are better off post revolution than before. The correct manner is the way the former unions of Soviet including Russia and Eastern Europe did it in the 80's and 90's and all are better off and most achieved democracy.
  21. Not sure why Iranians should know about American history any more than Americans know about Iranian history!!!!! And the Americans are mostly totally ignorant.
  22. You should ask an expert in middle east or Iranian politics or an Iranian citizen or resident who is well versed in politics as what has been the chain of events last 70 years but in my non expert view I would say there is a big difference as Americans were fighting a FOREIGN enemy who occupied their land so they were united and drove out or defeated the occupying army. Same way that Iranians united and defeated the occupying invading armed to teeth (by US, France, Russia) Iraqi army in the 80's. Fighting for democracy and independence (the latter they have achieved it already) is much more complex and has a much longer path especially when it is intended to be achieved in a peaceful non-violent manner as the case would be with Iran.
  23. The desire for democracy has been very strong in Iran. The 1953 shameful British-CIA sponsored military coup was a massive blow to democracy in Iran which many believe led to Iranian revolution in 1979.
  24. The latest: Everyday they sign a new lucrative contract though at this time only Europe is getting the billions. http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iran-signs-deal-buy-20-airplanes-36659467
  25. Iran is a lucrative potential market but is no damn oil only Arabia. The west has to complete with domestic industries to enter Iranian markets and they do have their work cut off for them thanks to most severe economic sanctions imposed by the west Iran is self sufficient in almost everything except planes and trains maybe. http://www.theguardian.com/world/iran-blog/2016/feb/02/western-brands-competition-market-iran-poll-tehranbureau Again oil at whatever price Iran will grow a minimum of 5% next few years again thanks to sanctions!!!! http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-01/iran-gdp-poised-to-grow-in-aftermath-of-sanctions-moody-s-says Even its own tanks!!!!! http://en.trend.az/iran/politics/2488835.html
