  1. From the confines of his (Liberal) rubber room, most everything looks insane.
  2. He's just another heart-broken Liberal who can't get over the "totally unfair" results of May 2nd.
  3. Yep, they hate the Brits. They also hate the Yanks. I sense they even hate themselves. They have adopted political correctness, multiculturalism and anything else that will destroy the Canadian (read anything particularly British)culture. Even a bastardized form of republicanism is preferable.
  4. You don't know what you're talking about. Multiculturalism and political correctness have turned Canada into a bland, colourless blob of cultural library paste. And No, I'm not going to explain it to you.
  5. Good question! The answer - "Absolutely none" In fact, removal of the constitutional monarchy would be the last gutting of our traditions and national symbols. Since I was a kid, multiculturalism, political correctness and at least 3 PMs from Quebec (Trudeau, Muldoon, Chretch) have just about destroyed what I used to know and love about Canada.
  6. Don't you Liberals wish he was or will be just like you? Don't hold your breath.
  7. They haven't had a chance! Thank God! and I aint religious Hopefully, they never will.
  8. Most in the NDP should be "certified" - as I see 'em.
  9. It's not an argument, it's an axiom.
  10. Liberalphrenia?
  11. Frankly, if you vote to leave, you're the ones who would be gambling on the future. The remaining provinces and territories would do quite well without you. If you think that Quebec is the glue that holds the country together, you are under a severe self-imposed delusion. But you won't leave. Quebec can't survive without the transfer payments funded by Ontario and the Western haves.
  12. That's for sure. The country was working very well until Trudeau and Muldoon started to tinker with it.
  13. Your point? English is the only language spoken in Alberta.
  14. Play with the bull, you're apt to get the horn. You've also "signed" a waiver of fault. Good luck!
  15. In most crimes against persons or their property retribution is the only justice victims will ever get. If I were a victim of a brutal assault that affected me for life, emphasis on rehabilitating the criminal would be an additional assault and an insult. Yeah, I'd want to see retribution - big time!
  16. The LPC has been a dishonest and two-faced party since PET - falling to even lower standards of decency under Chretch. Anyone who has voted for that nest of vipers has to have similar standards or is an absolute lunatic. If I were the NDP I'd try to become a credible Opposition and work towards being a government-in-waiting by themselves without soiling themselves merging with the Liberals.
  17. Sorry, but you are absolutely wrong! The Conservatives have been dropping the tax rates &/or increasing the small business limit because they know small business is a major creator of jobs. Most provinces have been doing the same. Read some publications of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business to learn more about how small to medium bussinesses are the country's job creators.
  18. It sure as hell doesn't create a weak one.
  19. If there were real justice in this country the SOB would have been jailed for any number of crimes. And, to show my impartiality, Muldoon would be his cell-mate. These two are just more evidence of the political corruption that is endemic within Quebec. Politicians protect one another otherwise Steve would have gone after these two just like any other criminal. Righting this seedy tradition would be one way Harper could improve government. The law should apply to everyone - equally.
  20. I also agree with full rep by pop but I'd saw it off at a minimum of 2 MPs - just to give the other MP some company. I also think that 10 senators per pro/terr is about 5 too many. I also think that Ontario and Quebec would be far more formidible than you appear to believe.
  21. If you think it was primarly from the banks and other lending institutions, think again. Many have had to cash in what little they have in RRSPs and other investments, borrow from relatives or friends. Those who have used lending institutions have had to indenture their assets, their souls, and offer the banker the virginity of their daughters (just kiddng about the last one)
  22. As you have stated so well in this and your prior post. The reason it's so difficult as far too many in the GTA and Quebec just can't stand the thought that there might be equality among the provinces. "It's not democratic!" "You mean PEI would be equal to Ontario?" They, like the LPC, want all the power in their hands; we in the West and Atlantic Canada can just go f--k ourselves.
  23. Each sole-proprietor has created at least one job. My clients are almost all sole-proprietors, some create a number of jobs, and all pay income taxes. Some are in the upper middle class, most are just working stiffs, contributing and staying off government hand-outs.
