Zź Prejudice, like anti-Semitism. Islamophobia, anti-Muslim behaviour, is now the number one source of hate crimes and attacks in Canada.

Toronto Police Planning Job Action of Proposed Efficiencies
jacee replied to Boges's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Sadly, no. Taxme is quite serious. Me, not so much. -
This thread is about Islamophobia in Canada. There seems to be much confusion about that among people here who know very little of the moderate and peaceful Canadian Muslim communities here. We've seen little of extremist 'jihadis' in Canada, but we've seen a lot of islamophobia, and that's the issue being addressed in this thread. Generalized prejudice against Muslims in Canada because of their religion is not justified by reference to extremist activity elsewhere in the world.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1098064830328388&id=377616519039893 We have laws to deal with illegal abusive behaviours. Wearing a burka isn't illegal and it's not your business. And it isn't that common. Faux feminist men are really just antiMuslim and latching onto it as a symbol, an excuse for xenophobia.

He was injured and jailed for murder and terrorizing. He was interrogated for murder and terrorizing. Like you do with criminals. Why aren't you up in arms about interrogations of other murderers like Russell or Bernardo? He contributed nothing g to Canada and his only wish was to kill us and our ways. We don't owe him a damn thing. Of course I'd sue. JT won't negotiate with terrorists but will pay terrorists millions. I'd get to terrorize and be rich with the same actions while striking a blow at the west. Win win win. Of course you would do the same thing as Khadr did. There is no indication that Khadr wants to "kill us and our ways". That's stereotyped racist nonsense. We do owe Khadr and every Canadian, including the violent sexual deviants you mentioned, due process and a fair trial. You are making immature emotional arguments based on stereotypes, with no basis in law or reality.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/40708421 Yes. But perhaps a new thread? -
http://globalnews.ca/news/2634032/hate-crimes-against-muslim-canadians-more-than-doubled-in-3-years/ In 2015, police across the country recorded 159 hate crimes targeted at Muslims, up from 45 in 2012, representing an increase of 253 per cent. And that was before 6 people were murdered, and Enormous’ spike in hate crime reports in Montreal since mosque attack http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/montreal-man-accused-of-uttering-threats-and-inciting-hatred/wcm/a894db62-1ad0-43f7-9231-79d4ca97d2cc

Yup. Tell you what: YOU get forced into violence as a child, injured, jailed, 'interrogated', betrayed by the country that has a constitutional duty to ensure 'due process' for you ... I'll bet you'd sue for damages too.
-
Have you read the thread?
-
You tell them what to wear, think, do, say, be? I'm curious what they'd say about that. Lol
-
How does it impact you if Muslim women choose to wear a burka or hijab? It's really not your business.
-
Stop whining. Nobody's terrorizing you. However, Muslim people in Canada are being terrorized and murdered because of their religion.
-
This is about some white men telling Muslim women they can't wear a head or face covering. It's not their business at all what any women wear.
-
You, for example, being a man, you don't get to speak for women ... any women.

America under President Trump
jacee replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/comedians-protest-anthony-scaramuccis-ouster Industry estimates had projected that Scaramucci’s presence on the White House staff would generate between four and five billion dollars for the comedy industry this year alone, a windfall that has now been erased. Hawhawhawhaw! -
So are hate crimes against people because of their religion.

America under President Trump
jacee replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It's a dilemma they can't solve: Anything that appeals to the wealthy and powerful of the GOP just isn't playing well to loyal lower wage Trump fans. Thus Trump saying "We have to be kind ... more generous." They haven't solved that and it'll bite them repeatedly. -
Certainly. Investigation in progress ...

It was fun while it lasted. O m g Trump sure knows how to pick 'em for entertainment value. -
It isn't about paper. It's about people being terrorized because of their religion.
-
No I wouldn't either. It's a piece of cloth. Terrorizing people because of their religion is another matter. Six people of this community were already recently murdered because of their religion.
-
Oh sure. Take it literally. I think it should be an illegal action to harass and terrorize people that way because of their religion. I don't care whether it's called a hate crime. It's definitely harassment.
-
Are you defending that creep? http://calgaryherald.com/opinion/columnists/valerio-anti-muslim-groups-should-provoke-louder-response-from-our-leaders We've already had 6 Muslims killed in Canada by a violent terrorist. Paramilitary hate groups are demonstrating against Muslims, arming themselves and practicing ... for something. Do you think that's a good thing? I think hateful creeps like that we don't need.
