  1. No. It's like saying white supremacist terrorists are not Christian. The creep who killed 50 Muslims in NZ was not a Christian as he claimed. Terrorists claim a religion as justification. But they are all just violent criminal terrorists.
  2. Good luck. Let me know how you make out with that. Developers will scream. Politicians will buckle.
  3. Can you distinguish between Christians and a criminal terrorist who calls himself a Christian and murders innocent Muslims at prayer in Quebec? Can you distinguish between Muslims and criminal terrorists who call themselves Muslims and murder innocent Christians at prayer in Sri Lanka? Islamic terrorists are not religious. They don't go to mosques and they are not welcome there. Muslims who come to Canada are often running away from Islamic terrorists. Islamic terrorists murder far more Muslims than they do Christians. Punishing innocent Muslims in Canada for the crimes of crazed criminal terrorists elsewhere who call themselves Islamic ... just makes you a criminal terrorist preying on innocent people. What kind of grown man is so terrified of a piece of cloth? Get a grip, Robert. It's a horrible attack, but Muslims who came to Canada for safety DID NOT DO THIS! We should instead be surrounding our mosques to protect them from unhinged radical (Christian?) terrorists in Canada.
  4. If you quoted similar passages from other religious texts, it might be an interesting discussion to read. It's not clear how this relates to Alberta or Canada elections, the thread topic. Trolling every thread with passages from the Quran is really quite strange. Your Islamophobia consumes you. Not healthy.
  5. Yes, it's necessary everywhere. We'll get used to it. The link I provided surveys and summarizes the plans of retiring baby boomers. No point in guessing. Sure, the private sector can build, cities buy, public housing provided. $219k for what? Roads, sewers, water, lighting, sidewalks, buses, etc? Is that what you're complaining about? Do you think builders should have to also build that infrastructure? Would it cost buyers less if they did? I doubt it. "At present, development charges only cover about 80% of the costs of growth-related capital. They are used throughout Ontario and especially in high growth areas. That means property taxes are currently subsiding the cost of growth and municipalities are currently falling short of achieving the principle, “growth should pay for growth.” As a recent paper from the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance at the University of Toronto noted, “[the] burden on existing ratepayers is not only inequitable, but also leads to inefficiently low municipal service levels and other related problems for municipalities and the development industry.” Apparently we should be charging about $274k per house to actually recover the costs of servicing new developments. Or ... building denser housing in areas that already have services. I am definitely ok with that. Downtowners' taxes have always subsidized services for suburban growth on the greenfields. We don't want that sprawl anymore, and we don't want to subsidize it, so it should be made very expensive.
  6. Can you get a mortgage (or insurance) on a portable house with no land? I doubt it. Is off the grid still illegal? Do they have to be connected to services? Most industrial land is contaminated, and can't be used for residence. Moving people around at a whim might be problemmatic. Sounds like a great idea ... but I doubt it can be implemented.
  7. But it didn't have to be that way. Dougie paying off his handlers with tax cuts for the rich have reduced revenues But Moody’s also said that actions taken by the current government to reduce revenue levels will add to the budgetary pressures facing the province.
  8. The whole country is filled with toxic messes left behind by industry. We do need to start fining industries heavily and putting the industry perps in jail as a deterrent, not the workers but the executives who decide to walk away without cleaning up. But right now, Doug Ford has to get off his fat butt and get the leaking barrels cleaned up at Grassy Narrows that have caused horrible sickness, brain damage, loss of life and damage to the community ... for decades. "At low cost"?! Good idea. We'll just get Dougie's political staffers to throw the leaking barrels of mercury into Dougie's "off-the-books" Grey Goose party van! Problem solved ... and cheap too!!
  9. https://business.financialpost.com/news/economy/moodys-downgrades-ontarios-credit-rating-from-aa3-to-aa2-citing-deficit Because of the deficit (blamed on Liberals) and reduced revenues due to Ford's tax cuts for the wealthy and for polluters. I guess 'austerity budgeting' isn't all it's cracked up to be.
  10. Not everybody lives in Toronto or Vancouver. They may be enclaves of the wealthy, and young urbanites who share accommodation, not families. Large numbers of baby boomers will sell their suburban homes and move to urban condos in smaller more affordable cities or recreational areas, making family homes available without building on the greenbelt. https://www.inhalton.com/heres-how-baby-boomers-will-impact-canadas-housing-market Urban boomers may stay and divide their homes, providing needed rental units. And somehow also ... "create two new oversight bodies meant to make sure the spending reduces homelessness." That means creating enough public housing to clear the waiting lists and more. More efficient countries are way ahead of us in addressing housing as a necessity.
  11. It's what I've observed, long before Trudeau started his "smears". True though it is, I don't think it's a winning strategy for him.
  12. Don't be silly. Of course they are! Every vote is important.
  13. White supremacists don't speak for white people.
  14. No Liberal here! But let me clarify ... the CONSERVATIVE PARTY is courting white supremacist votes.
  15. How would you describe it?
  16. I agree. Spineless huffing and puffing and threatening are not really constructive, but apparently attractive to his voters. Alberta still has the highest average wage in the country, and no sales tax.
  17. Irrelevant as usual. Faith Goldy wants to be a hero in the spotlight. “I’ve always longed to protect the flock, and stare eyeball to eyeball with the wolves.” She's found her "flock" of follower minions in the white supremacist community, and they their 'hero'.
  18. White supremacists, by definition, are all hateful people: Hatred toward non-white people defines them. They also tend toward homophobia and misogyny. The masses of people who oppose white supremacist rallies and marches and vastly outnumber them are from churches, mosques, synagogues and other anti-racist, anti-hate and anti-fascist groups. While not all Conservatives may be white supremacists, they try to make sure that all white supremacists vote Conservative.
  19. So homosexual desires are a constant temptation that must be suppressed? Metoo exposed sexual harassment and sexual assault, which are abnormal behaviours, toxic to criminal, and can occur as unwelcome hetero or same sex aggression.
  20. You still haven't read the link. The company is long gone. It was a pulp mill. When is DoFo going to clean up the leaking barrels of mercury?
  21. How about we clean up the leaking barrels of mercury.

  23. Is Scheer going to stop hanging out with white supremacists?
  24. Jason Kenney told the editorial board of Postmedia’s Calgary papers that he believes parents should be informed when their child joins a gay-straight alliance at school, ... In response, Edmonton-born k.d. lang asked: 727 people are talking about this In a Facebook statement a few hours later, Kenney attempted to pull back his comments. https://www.canadalandshow.com/kd-lang-asks-jason-kenney-if-hes-gay/ He hasn't answered.
