Mhmm ... and a kernel of truth: Bernier won't be able to unite all the bigots across the country to vote for him because bigots won't vote for a francophone.

I repeat: Religion is stupid. My point was that all religions are equally stupid. I have no interest in your battle-of-religions. It's stupid, and it's dangerous. People are free to have the religion they choose, and to practice it within the law and without discrimination or people inciting or promoting hatred against them. I don't believe every member of a religion should be blamed for violent criminal terrorists who use their name.

But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’” https://biblehub.com/luke/19-27.htm Apparently it does. Not that I care. Religion is stupid. But people are free to practice their religion within the law, without discrimination or people inciting or promoting hatred against them.

Do violent fanatics who call themselves Buddhists actually represent Buddhism? No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Islamic terrorists generally do proclaim responsibility for terrorist acts. "The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka said it condemned the attacks “on our Christian brothers and sisters on their Holy Day of Easter, as well as on the hotels in Colombo.” It said that it mourned the loss of “innocent lives due to extremist and violent elements who wish to create divides between religious and ethnic groups to realize their agenda.” http://time.com/5574723/easter-sunday-blasts-explosions-sri-lanka-what-to-know/ Why do only Christians get to disavow terrorists who murder in their name? Isn't that a Christian supremacist prejudice? Colonialism was white Christian supremacist terrorism in the extreme. The repercussions are still occurring today, including in Sri Lanka.

Islamic terrorism is not a problem we have in Canada, at least no more (probably less) than we have a problem with Christian terrorism. Read the thread: I am attempting to explain to Robert Greene why he shouldn't assault and terrorize Muslim Canadian women in retaliation for the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka (which are not even clearly Islamic). I am trying to explain to bcsapper that terrorists are just terrorists and fanatics who represent no religion, regardless of their claims.

Some terrorists do violence in the name of Christianity: Andre Bissonette, Brenton Tarrant, Anders Behrens Breivek, Timothy McVeigh, Jim Jones. Christians say the terrorists are not true Christians. Some terrorists do violence in the name of Islam. Muslims say the terrorists are not true Muslims. I say terrorists are terrorists, and religion is irrelevant.

We already have that. Offering jobs may be a legitimate strategy. Forcibly restricting movement is not. It's amazing to me how 'patriots' and 'nationalists' are so totally bereft of any real commitment to equality, freedom, and democracy.

Trump wants to send all illegals to sanctuary cities.
jacee replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
They are fleeing US aggression and corporate takeover of their own countries - Guatamela and Honduras. Aggressive Canadian mining operations in those countries are a large part of the problem. We are not 'the good guys' as you would like to pretend. -
It never is. Violent criminal terrorists only claim a religion to justify violence and homicide. Just like parents who murder their children and justify it with 'They're in a better place now, in God's hands.' Did Christianity lead them to murder their children? They would say so. But I don't think so.

I believe you are hinting at forcing people to live where they may not wish to? Constitutionally unacceptable. Some of your comments are virulently hateful, others simply delusional, none are helpful in any rational world, really approaching dangerous fanaticism. Are you likely to act on any of your delusions and hatred, Robert? What actions would you take? Who would help you? Where are you located? Both of you, Zeitgeist and Robert Greene, seem focused on totalitarian imposed 'solutions' with little respect for free will and democracy. It's ironic that those who present themselves as 'patriots' and 'nationalists' in defense of Canada are most likely to propose authoritarian solutions that violate Canadian laws and democracy. Our housing issues are serious, but not to the point that it's necessary to destroy democracy in order to house people.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-48012085 290 people have died, including suicide bombers. 24 arrested. It's unclear who the terrorists are, The government has blamed a little-known local jihadist group, National Thowheed Jamath, although no-one has yet admitted carrying out the attacks. But the article below seems to suggest the terrorists may be Buddhist militants. https://qz.com/india/1601189/why-ntj-sri-lanka-allegedly-attacked-christians-and-churches/ "Recent years have seen the rise of militant forms of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and Christians have been among its targets. For example, the ultra-nationalist Buddhist organization, the Bodu Bala Sena (also known as Buddhist Power Force) demanded that Pope Francis apologize for the “atrocities” committed by colonial powers."
