  1. All we need in Alberta is a good alternative to our federal government and we're gone. These guys have some good ideas http://www.separationalberta.com/ but Hutton sounds more like a white hooded KKK member than a leader. He wants to institute 'European' values as a moral base for a new nation. I like these guys better http://www.republicofwesterncanada.com/index2.html but the movement seems to be stalled.
  2. Ok, sorry about the remark, but it's true, if it's not in writing, it becomes heresay. Furthermore, my statement precludes all of your rhetoric about the justice system.
  3. HEY!!! I'm a lying manipulative weasel and I resent that remark! I'm not a lawyer.
  4. If it isn't in writing, it didn't happen. Words to live by, go get a job.
  5. Hey, when the country is fat, it really doesn't matter who we vote for. Voter turnout is a sign of the times more than anything imo. When times are tough, people pay more attention. http://www.elections.ca/content.asp?sectio...&textonly=false It seems to me that voter turnout peaked during the first war, the second war, the Mcarthy period and the general depression of the early 80's. ????????????????
  6. You just eliminated 99 +% of the voting population. What you say is that people must be totally informed about their choice and all the issues involved, not excited about it, and have total agreement with the person of their choice on all topics. Otherwise you shouldn't vote? We all vote for the best of the worst. Everybody knows that except perhaps yourself.
  7. We have to vote. How the heck can we get rid of Martin if we don't? I think the American system is superior in a couple of ways and would welcome a change. I want to vote for my leader separately to my MP. I want my leader to have an election on a set date every 4 years and I want him outta there after 2 terms. People who don't vote or merely spoil ballots are not really looking ahead to a productive outcome. I'd go so far as to say it's another way the left complains about the status quo without offering any viable different solutions to a problem. Or they're whining in advance of Martins defeat.....
  8. I have always maintained that time will tell how things go in Iraq and that it needed doing. The public is terminally impatient and will always give up before the job is done if a strong leader isn't present to do it for them. I wish Canada had just one.
  9. Ok, how's this? I'm not convinced Scott Peterson is guilty by the trail of circumstantial evidence he was convicted by. At least that's what I'm aware of. He's sitting on death row now. I have a theory that Lacy found out he was banging that other woman and somehow committed suicide in the bay where she later washed up. Scott, being a truly remorseful person, ridden with guilt, takes the blame and sits on death row, waiting to rejoin his loving wife and child in the afterlife. A stretch? The pieces fit. Or he's a no good mudering bastard and should fry immediately.
  10. That's all fine and dandy if only they'd keep prisoners in jail instead of paroling them early because of overcrowding etc. We should open a season here on parolees and sex offenders. Maybe that would keep them in Quebec or Ontario. When someone goes to prison in Canada, it's rarely forever. ie. Karla??? There's one bitch that should hang.
  11. Society has a lot more respect for people who make the right choices without being coerced by a death penalty. Nothing Williams did after his conviction could possibly make any viable difference to the outcome of his sentence logically. So, to me, having that point of view, the man was a criminal convicted of murdering 4 people and having lived a life of crime as well as leaving a legacy of a violent gang that has murdered how many more. There was no credible evidence presented otherwise to make the people in the know change their minds about him. Good riddance and although it's a good start, they need to order some more needles and clean out the rest. Although who cares if they use clean needles for each convict. CANADA!!!! Are you listening???? The death penalty stops ALL repeat offenses.
  12. Why keep someone in jail first for 25 years and then execute them? That's cruel punishment. If someone is sentenced to death, take him out and get it over with. Seems to me most death cases are like ebay in that all the appeal pressure and last minute legal wiggling happens right at the end of the game anyway, just like the bidding, so why wait so long? Lethal injection is no worse than putting a dog to sleep. I for one am not wanting to spend my tax dollars to house the likes of Paul Bernardo and Martin Gingras, Clifford Olson, etc. Those guys are wastes of skin and should be done away with too. Canada sucks when it comes to a justice system. I'm thinking it must be professional courtesy on the part of politicians to grant life to murderers and other hard core criminals. Oh, wait a minute, I remember when they replaced the TV's at Bowden a few years ago with black and white ones so the prisoners couldn't be accused of having a soft life. Rechh.....
  13. I GOT IT!!!!! Martin wants to take away all civilian guns so he can give them to the military. At least they'll have some then. ....in case there's an invasion of mad cows from Alberta ...ok seriously....
  14. Well, I'm not going to resort to name calling, but suffice it to say that Martin has been put in my 'putz' file for some time. Like most prairie rural type people, I'm waiting for the gun laws to go byebye when the right government gets in power. Until then, we ignore them and carry on like normal. My 22 is really going to cause problems.....not. Except for a few gophers. And my shotgun.......dangerdangerdanger!!!!.......except over 150 feet away. My nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. Gun laws suck to begin with, and Mr. Martin sounds more like the idiot he is every time I hear him spout his drivel. Ok, just a little name calling....
  15. Yeah, let her roam free so somebody can do the governments job for them...... Strange fruit. Here is fruit for the crows to pluck, For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck, For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop, Here is a strange and bitter crop. ....and Bernardo too.
  16. I predict that again I won't get to vote in this election being from Alberta. Quebec and Ontario will re-elect Paul Martin in yet another minority government and we'll be back to the same old same old corruption and liberal misgivings that I hate about this countries present form. -raspberry-
  17. I do not believe there's a need to politicise this young mans death. While it is tragic and sad and ALL accidents are preventable, this falls well within the statistics of traffic deaths that occur everywhere. The military can look inwards to study whether procedures and protocols were being followed and whether the safety of the vehicle design is adequate, but past that, let's not try to make something out of nothing.
  18. That's better than all the uncontrolled thugs out doing who knows what because of lack of parental control. Those idiots made bad choices. That merely makes them idiots. I challenge anyone in their right mind to go over a balcony at 200 feet up rather than get yelled at. Get real.
  19. Just because he can't pronounce his own name doesn't mean that journalists should start using 'pidgin english' also. What if he had a harelip or mild retardation? Pronouncing his name the same way he does would then be seen as mockery. Journalists need to stick to the English language (though I realize it can and does change) and not start taking 'the lazy way'...(fitty cent indeed...more of a drunken/drugged mumble than a pronounciation) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> fi fo fa fif fi fo for Mike Tysons phone number......
  20. What's your point? When I get drunk, I don't throw money at homeless people. Ralph's the MAN!!!! Besides, they should get jobs. There's no reason to be unemployed in Ralphland unless you don't have a pulse. Maybe it's the leftover eastern bums that came over in '83.
  21. Maybe banned members aren't counted any more.
  22. I'm not going to complain to Greg. I occasionally pipe up from a little too deep down myself, so the ignore button works for me. Let Greg do his job as he sees fit.
  23. I don't have anything nice to say to this thread. I wish the queers would keep to themselves. You don't see me out there feeling the need to proclaim to the world that I go to bed with a woman. If it's so 'normal', shut the hell up about it and live your lives. Get outta my face!!
  24. Argus!! That's mighty redneck of you to express yourself like that. Welcome to the dark side. I can almost tell there's a sense of humor in there somewhere. Congrats!
  25. IMT, you're on my ignore list. Please do the same.
