  1. What I can't understand is, if things are so bad for the muslim communities in western countries, why do they, the muslims, stay? It seems the muslim's want to change everything to the way things were back home and do not want to follow the western way of life. Why did they emigrate to countries such as Canada, United States, Norway, Sweden etc. if they have no plans to accept the freedoms and life style of the west? Why are they here? What do they contribute?
  2. Well, if one is going to purchase a prayer mat, one should also purchase a compass in order to find Qiblah. The compass is a bargain...only $10.71 Cdn. The compass is made in Japan. I also noted that 10% of the profits are donated to "charity"....you know, the "charities" that purchase bomb making material used to kill and maim. Then again, I am not being politically correct in assuming this company would donate to terrorist causes. Maybe they are good Muslims.......
  3. Congratulations!!! Ah, yes...brings back memories.....no rest, little sleep....Good luck, kid! Now, can I swear in a post this weekend? Aw, c'mon....just once....
  4. ok....ok....how about Stockwell Day ? Now there's someone who looks way cool in a wetsuit. And...he was the leader of the Refooooorm Party. He will be an excellent choice as Ambassador to the United States. Not sure about qualifications but he looks good in a wetsuit. Now I will no doubt be chastised....again.... it is a cruel world...thank you and goodbye.....
  5. Please ignore above post....Global news has already mentioned this possibilty......I can't believe it.... it was a joke......good grief.....
  6. People!! People!!! Have you taken leave of your senses??? Belinda Stronach?? HA! You people have forgotten about......Hedy Fry! Hedy Fry...Imaginative (Burning crosses on lawns), forthright , truthful, short, raven haired, defeated Svend Robinson... did I mention raven haired. Highly intelligent ....well, smart and a born leader. She would be perfect to lead the Liberals. Now, bring back Preston Manning and, for the Bloc old Luc Bouchard and THAT would be some leader's debate. On second thought....... disclaimer: Please note: in no way is this intended to be a sexist, politically incorrect assessment and is only posted as an attempt at humour. I did not intend to insult nor cause to any particular group pain and suffering and I therefore apologize should anyone take offence at the statements as noted above. There, that should cover it.
  7. I have a question.....seriously.....please don't get upset....I just was wondering if Belinda is a Leaf fan and, if so, wonder who her favourite player is ? Ya, I know, who cares.... Wonder, also, why the Penguins, if sold, wouldn't relocate to Hamilton? Nothing against Winnipeg....love Winnipeg....should have a team... But Winnipeg Penguins doesn't really sound right.
  8. Spent some time in South Carolina and I picked up a southern accent.... And I really liked "Y'all come back, now." And...I had some of the folks there ending sentences with..."eh." Southern accent with a touch of Canadiana... the South Carolinians I met were wonderful and such a sense of humour. Had a great time.
  9. My Son-in Law is a police officer in Illinois and, when we go visit, I go out with him as a "ride-along " during his work time. As soon as the other Police Officers see me at the precinct...which I call the police station... I get the usual jokes about "Are you going ooot and aboot to-day, eh?'' And...they all want to hear me say roof. However, after a visit up here to Canada my son-in-law is using "eh" like a real Canadian! He says it takes about two weeks to "get back to normal" just as an aside, I had to purchase an article at a store in Chicago and the cashier, noting I was from Canada, asked me..seriously..."does it stay dark most of the time in Canada?" She honestly believed that our time was much different than that in Illinois.
  10. Eureka, Can't you post anything without throwing about your insane insults? You act like a typical schoolyard bully - anyone who disagees with you is automatically your enemy. You, apparently, can't discuss anything without name calling, sarcasm and idiotic statements. You call people stupid? Classy. But, then, that is your way. You are so full of yourself that it it is sickening. All you have been doing is painting Stephen Harper as the Anti-Christ and defending Paul Martin with a zeal not unlike the followers of Bin Laden. You only see one side of the coin and are either too lazy or too stupid (one of your terms) to turn that coin over. Your postings always..always...degenerate into name calling and hurtful statements. And, when you reply, which you no doubt will in your provocative way, do not start with the name calling, although that seems to be your main talent. As an aside to Hicksey...good posts! Watch, though, we will both be painted as idiots..or worse. However, just remember where it comes from.
  11. eureka: Far be it from me to want to mix it up with you..what a childish, petulant retort. You are a real piece of work. Hope you have a wonderful christmas, anyway. You, sir, madam or whatever you are, have absolutely no sense of humour. Take a bloody valium..
  12. One does not have to spend one's life perusing other political forums to find denigrating terms aimed at Harper and Martin - incredulous as it may seem - but they are, in actuality, "here." Such disparaging remarks as dope peddler and pious weasel for Harper and schmuk, slime, lying snake used to describe Martin...they were some of the colloquialisms used to describe the two. Now I would like to point out that not once, in any way, have I used such terms to describe either Martin or Harper, unlike others, dope peddler coming to mind. Reading your post I discovered that, as usual, oleaginous remarks are the forte of the acrimonius poster. One other thing........Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year....
  13. Much thanks for your advice on posting procedures and the proper way to form one's postings. Unfortunately, when I first created my post, after viewing it with spaces, it was inordinately long...even I was bored reading it... I "scrunched" it up to make it appear less "cumbersome" to read. I will be very careful about posting anything that causes problems in the future. Hope that meets the standards of this site.
  14. I haven't been around here long enough be able to see the "mental capacity" of the various posters. That said, calling members of the Armed Forces "suckers" and, basically, dismissing the horrors of world war two with inane comments, is sad and brings into question the bitterness behind such comments. However, that said, the poster of these comments has the freedom to say this and that is what members of the armed forces fought for...the freedom to be able to make comments..no matter how "dumb" they are. Also this posters further "shot" at police officers was uncalled for.
  15. Off subject but... Shoop...One enters Paul Martin and CSL in Google and guess what? Somewhere in the list of articles available is one from Canada Free Press, about loopholes, etc. and seemed to fit into the "discussion" about Mr. Martin. As for your comment about "right wing hacks" who regularly read Canada Free Press..I assume you are including me, due to the article ...you have crossed the line. People have the freedom to read whatever they want...and that includes Canada Free Press as well as any other site that produces things of interest. What people read is of no concern of yours. By the way, I read the Toronto Star but that does not make me a Liberal supporter and I also read the Toronto Sun, among other newspapers..which does not make me a supporter of the CPC, either, at this juncture. I do not "regularly" read the site you commented on but I certainly will be perusing it ,now. Also, the comment about partisan, ignorant columnists ....they are on both sides. As for the mention of character assassination, one need look no further than Political Forums that refer to Stephen Harper as Harpo, bozo etc. I don't see you, Eureka, getting on your soap box about that. Interesting.... Also, as to the remark about posting full columns - gotcha. However, if one spends the time to check other areas one would notice a fair number of newspaper articles and full columns. Guess the full columns that point out "failings" of the current government and it's leader are not allowed. Dully noted.
