Sexual Orientation and the Canadian Voter
Leader Circle replied to sharkman's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Are you referring to Pierre Pettigrew & his Chauffeur(Man servant???)? LOL This generation will have to be called the "Me Generation", because everybody wants the world to stop turning for their issue or their cause. They don't care what their issue may be, just that the world jumps when they ask for it. They use the media to claim racial or sexual orientation biases, so that people will sympathize with them. It is truly pathetic. What does SSM have to do with human rights? NOTHING! It is mainly about pushing the envelope that much farther and Canada just gives in. Although they claim there are only 300,000 people who claim to be gay, 300,000 of them vote and they vote as a group for their policy or issue. When you consider the amount of voters out there, that number is huge. They have more stroke in politics than many unions!! Now, after this ruling in BC against the KoC hall, the gays in Canada will finish their original task of removing religious freedom from Canadians. They have proven their ability to get what they want and now being religious is worse than being a smoker!!! They paint all religious people as bigots & human rights abusers, and suggest(like norm) that religious folks would actually like hate crimes against gays to be legal, so that they can further their cause of removing religion from all aspects of public life!! When in actuality, religious people do not hate them, they just don't like the lifestyle they represent. I think these people do not care about anyone but themselves and their selfish causes are actually hurting the lifestyles of everyone else! And all we have left is to piss & moan about it or forums like these, because the deed is done. Welcome to the ME GENERATION! -
Export Tax on Alberta Oil and Gas
Leader Circle replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, as much as I would hate to admit, Norm is right about Harper. Harper & Manning could not come to terms on policy for the party. Manning was a populist kinda guy, trying to appeal to all spectrums of voters and Harper wanted to stay to the right with his conservative views on economics(his speciality). They bickered alot and at the time Harper left to go to the NCC they weren't even on good terms, I believe. -
How very politically correct of you. You don't know what the man said, but he's an embarrassment to you anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL. We do not want to lose your vote though Shoop, but I personally enjoy reading the Western Standard and Mark Steyn's columns. Although, I could do without all the stupid emails they send me!!!

Ontario Liberal supporters explained
Leader Circle replied to sharkman's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, I'll offer up a view of things from the 905 even though I plan to vote CPC: -It isnt so much about supporting Liberal ideas as it is rejecting the Conservatives -All people heard about Gomery was "scandal, corruption, etc" over and over again; we know this is bad, we know it was the Liberal party, but no big-name faces could be attached to it, so it got repetitive and ignored -There is still the percieved view of the CPC as an Alberta-based consortium, which combines both some social and fiscal conservative aspects -People here are fiscal conservative, but not socially conservative -- this means get Harper and the CPC to shutup about gay marriage, shutup about abortion, shutup about every social issue and leave everything in regards to the "family" or "religion" at the status quo -People don't really think Harper is scary, we just view him as a different kind of conservative -- a guy from smalltown Alberta who doesn't know how things work here -Finally, in the 416 code (downtown Toronto), there are masses of first-generation immigrants. Almost all of them vote for the government in power, which is the Liberals. They feel sort of a loyalty to them for allowing them to come to the country. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nicely put and very accurate apollo! Although, Harper was born and raised just north of Steeles Ave on Leslie(or Somewhere east of Young) in Markham. Would that not make Mr. Harper a local? Is it the taint of the Esso dollars that makes him such a scary dude? Big oil money corrupted him, like the rest of us in Alberta? Ontario, as I can see it, is a big bully, who has to have it their way, or they will steal your lunch money and give you a wedgy! The unions have made them a ME kind of people and they hate anyone who would threaten to take that comfort seat away and actually make them work. I think you nailed it on the first generation immigrants! They love their new host, and seem to think Ontario IS Canada and as long as they are allowed to bring friends in they will vote for the party in power! -
Which MP Would You Most Like To See Lose Their Sea
Leader Circle replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Lets see ole turncoat Stronach & the original turncoat Brison and Mclellan, all great choices. Also, lets see Paul Martin lose his seat and have to be appointed a seat in Yukon! Lets also see Pierre Pettigrew tarred and feathered in Quebec!! Sounds like fun!! -
Why I'll Never Vote Conservative

The best thing for people to do is completely ignore newbie & the other doofus and they will fade away. It was probably newbie using a new name anyway, and we all know what he is capable of! -
Half of CPC MPs are "Religious Conservatives"
Leader Circle replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Most of the gay & lesbian activists would prefer to see christians punished for the persecution they have gotten over the years. They need someone to blame and they pick christians, because they have been the biggest protestors to the gay movement! It is going to get tough to practice religious freedom soon, especially after the ruling from BC for the lesbians against the KoC. We are headed down the road to ruin, just like the Bible predicts. It's sad that bigdude/norm would make a case against the Conservatives because they allow christians in their midst.(Oh the horror!) What can you expect from someone without a soul? -

Kim Campbell says Harper will lose
Leader Circle replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The similarities in the postings of Sharkman and Shoop are astonishing. No doubt it's mere coincidence that neither post at the same time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If what you posted was anything more than drivel, you might make an impact here norm. Your constant drone is getting old, we have heard it all about the bad things that Stephen Harper represents and it is the same useless, Liberal scare campaign. It's no longer going to work, Canadians are opening their eyes to see the shit being spewed by scare-mongers like you Norm! I think all of this social conservative crap you like to moan about, is going to help Harper in the long run! The CPC is going to form the next government and it pisses off all you whiney Liberals....It's awesome!!! -
Day 1 in the conservative parallel world
Leader Circle replied to Bakunin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hey Bakunin, are you a Quebecker first and not a Canadian, as it says at the end of this post? By the sounds of this post here, you seem to be a separatist, am I wrong? Like the guy from the Molson commercials, I AM CANADIAN! I have like all across this country, and call myself a Canadian first, then the province I hail from, not the other way around! -
Ralph Klein Says Liberals Will Win Election
Leader Circle replied to tml12's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I say Ralph's Red roots are showing, when he makes dumbass comments like that. McKay was right, the way to fix this is DUCT TAPE! Ralph needs to be gone, this was the nail in the coffin! -

These people working at GM, were working on borrowed time as it was. The auto industry has been taking a hit for a long time now and their only thing to do is to cut the fat. Why do you think we have been seeing all of these promotions for cars 0% here, 0% there for most of the big auto dealers? Wanna know why? Because they are hurting... they need the numbers and by going 0%, it hurts us all. It hurts the manufacturer by giving them no profits on their money and the consumer, because if you pay no interest up front, the vehicle is worth less down the road. It is a quick fix for auto dealers, because they sell more cars to jump start the auto industry, but in the long run, profits go down and you have cut backs. They all knew it was coming, but were avoiding the inevitable. Now they make cuts, their shares go up and they make more money. These companies are so mismanaged, the only way to turn a profit is to build up production and cut back jobs. If they spent less time on vehicles that were not selling and developing fuel efficient engines, instead of building some suped up space ship looking rig, that 1 in 1 million people are actually interested in, just to keep up with the Jones'. It is a pathetic look at the way thing are going. Lots of these decisions, like 0% interest, are going to come back and haunt us. Sept 11 was the beginning of the slide and now with high energy costs, we are going to see a shitty down turn in the economy. Interest rates are climbing, inflation is up and if the economy doesn't soon get a boost, there is going to be huge cutbacks! This 3900 job cut will look small compared to what will happen!!

Election first week of February?
Leader Circle replied to shoop's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Aye, they say 'familiarity breeds contempt', but with gov't, it usually breeds complacency. It's probably like getting buggered in prison. The first time you are shocked and horrified, and think it's unfair. But after 50 or a 100 times you just start looking at your watch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> flea, I damn near spit orange juice all over the place when reading your analogy(no pun intended). Too funny! I bet you are right and many of the people who would vote for the Liberals have been so consumed with fear, thinking the Conservatives would be in power. It's all a part of the scare tactic by our Liberal media and the second Mulroney term, that scared many a Conservative too. Despite all of this, I think the Conservatives have their make or break chance here. If they can't pull off a small minority here, then the Liberals are going to keep paying people off with their own money and stay in power for a long time! -
Many of us have been doing just that since long before this incident came to light.... and for good reason... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I recall an article by a BBC reporter a few years ago in Kabul. This was before 911. He managed to bribe his way into a prison there. It was a small sort of prison, a large, ugly stone building. blah, blah (quoting somebody's story).. ......then crouched in the shadows staring at them in fear. Deaths by beating and disease were routine. This was one small example of the Taliban. And no one cared. This was what Khadr and his family were fighting to not only preserve but spread throughout the world. But the America haters never cared about them, and they don't care about all the other innocents jammed into horrible prisons throughout the world, from India to China to North Korea to Liberia. ... Good point... Did you read about all of those secret CIA prisons too ???? And nobody cared about those people being tortured by the CIA, because they didn't tell us... Just like nobody cared about I can apreciate how you consider the killing of tens of thousands of Iraqis for control of the Iraqi oil is exceedingly mild... The deaths of about 500,000 Iraqis between the two wars because the USA wouldn't allow anyone to bring water purification into Iraq was also exceedingly small, considering how badly they wanted the oil for their friends at Exxon, Chevron, Mobil, (and lets not leave Tony's BP out) This is a twist... I thought you were pro-american... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> err, You are one paranoid person. You should back off the drugs that put you in this state. You certainly have hatred towards the USA. Are you a terrorist? Are you a member of Al Qaida? This war is not as much about oil as it is about defending our future against terrorist scum. If you say Iraq was fine & noone needed to step in, you are on something!!! I am sorry if they are your relatives they are killing over there, but that place needed fixing, no matter who does it!

Liberal Votes Up for Grabs
Leader Circle replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
In this free thinking, self serving country we live in, ignorance and stupidity abound and are actually up-lifted by many! When will these people realize the error of their ways? "Hyped up scandal"...... my favorite part of that speech!! too funny! Protection of our country is a waste of tax dollars??? OMFG... do you lock your door at night? I swear some people have drifted back to the 60's, with all of this free love & peace crap! War & terrorism are all around us, I for one prefer to be defended. Anyone who thinks we are safe is dead wrong! -

Looks like we're going to the polls.
Leader Circle replied to ScottBrison's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If the 'right wing' had anybody more than halfway acceptable please put them forward! If the PC's had someone with a little more charisma than a dead fish, the Liberals would be at about 2% in the polls right now. It does no good complaining that Harper is 'mis-represented in the press', or "He isn't such a bad guy". If MacKay were to take over the PC's tomorrow, there would probably be a 5-30% rise in their standings. Quebec excepted, of course, however there may be extenuating circumstances. MacKay was 'dumped' (or betrayed) by Stronach. He has avoided the 'cuckolded statesman stigma' because it was seen as a purely political move. The 'Quebecois' may become interested in him, and he is one of the best looking guys that the PC's have. (you know how mushy the French can get) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A 5-30% rise???? Too funny!!!! Can you describe him sir? Well he was 5ft to 7ft 1 inch, light or dark, with brown, blonde or black hair. Nice call Flea!!! It is media spin on Harper, that's all. If you actually knew anything about the guy, other that the bullshit spread by our useless media, you may be able to make an informed opinion of him. Sadly, you are just like the average Joe Canadian flunky, that will believe anything your leftist media will shove down your throat! They make him our to be the spawn of Satan with no personality, but they don't know him. No matter who the CPC sends out, the media will trash him to no end. This same old shit gets old. Nobody is buying crazy here flea, go sell it to the union! -
How many times will Layton play this, "making parliment work" card? People have to be seeing through it! I don't see Layton pulling the pin, there is so much more he can squeeze out of a desperate man. The CPC has to stay back from the Bloc right now and Harper needs Layton to call this shot. I just don't see all of these things aligning themselves for the greater good. I think the CPC needs to time to build in the polls, before the trigger is pulled. The more we hear from Chretien is going to bring the Liberals back down.

Chretien To Challenge Gomery's Findings
Leader Circle replied to tml12's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Chretien has already made references to Martin's knowledge of the whole thing, but they may be out of anger! From what I read in the Gomery report, it seems the PMO had full control over this and the Finance dept had very little to do with the fine points of the program. According to Gomery, everything that Martin had his hands on had to be scrutinized by parliment first. If he wanted to okay this kind of spending, it would have gotten much more publicity. That is why, out of secrecy, Chretien handled these kind of things, so that the public was not enlightened to his spending unless it was a huge success in saving Quebec, and he could be crowned king of federation!! Chretien had always claimed his main goal was to keep Canada together. It is possible that Martin didn't have a hand in the actual filtration program, but he had to have a clue about what was going on! It all seems kinda strange!
