The return of Svend Robinson
Leader Circle replied to plusgood's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think you could say that about a lot of Reform/Conservative candidates.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Err, You need to get over your Conservative bashing.... you are useless to this forum and an ignorant little person. Why don't you go somewhere where you are useful, like ratemypoo.com. I am sure they could use a critic with a keen eye for shit! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think a lot of people should get over promoting "Conservative" ideals where the general idea is taking from the poor to give to the rich..... I see it as morally wrong, and hence, will fight for what I think is right. And I'm glad you think that I am critic with a keen eye for your kind of posts... It is the "left bashers", and you shouldn't have much trouble finding them in this particular topic, that inspire me to respond. You'll note that the "Liberal" supporters have a much more moderate stance, and that is why the Liberals have a much better chance of getting elected than your leader... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This whole post was about this Robinson wingnut, not about the Conservative party you dolt! As for Newbie, I never made a personal attack, I told him he is useless here, as are you if you cannot stay on the topic. Both of you have ADHD? This constant whining and insulting of the Conservative party is getting old! You 2 should drift away together and find a I "heart" Liberals website or find the I hate Conservatives website, because you are both too ignorant to contribute anything of substance at this forum!!! You should both give me some credit as well, because that ratemypoo comment was funny....you must admit!!! -

The return of Svend Robinson
Leader Circle replied to plusgood's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
He's a lame duck that steals jewelry! Canada's politicians are corrupt enough, they don't need a flakey thief in the mix. Go away Robinson! If he were to win a seat, it would show the complete and utter stupidity of that riding! He made a fool of himself and he should stay out of the media!! Another gay man trying to use his sexuality to get ahead. (no pun intended) -
After years of hearing about it, lets git-r-dun! With the Clarity Act, lets toss it out there and if Quebecers say yes by 50.1%, let them go. English Canada is tired of this same shit, year after year. Bye bye Quebec, good luck!

Liberal Bias in the Media?
Leader Circle replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=968350116795 I posted this especially for Max and Monty... I love you guys! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The irony of this is, the most biased paper in Canada, is claiming that there is no bias in the media!!!! LOL -
While greasy fast food may be addictive to some, grease it is not considered an 'additive to enhance addiction'. ('Rotten Ronnie's' always gives me a stomach ache...if I ever go there again perhaps that's what I'll ask for)Were they to experiment with adding ammonia to enhance the 'kick' of the euphoric high from the grease, then they might be dancing in the lawsuit category...a link from a tobacco study... http://www.ash.org.uk/html/regulation/html/additives.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quite interesting Lonius! I read a book not long ago, about a chemist who was killed for his formula for some additive to make burgers for some fast food chains more addictive. It was total fiction, but a great read and makes you wonder sometimes about MickyD's. I watched the show "Supersize Me" and was quite amused at the effects eating only McDonalds had on him. If the courts will allow such lawsuits as these, what stops money hungry lawyers from going after big cash cows like McD's?
-
Sparhawk is quite right, though, no other company could sell something as harmful and get away with it. If 'cornflakes' were practically guaranteed to kill you, but they were allowed to instill additives to make you addicted, how long would they be on the market? (and not just from consumer demand dropping, but from the gov't and health authorities) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lonius, Do you think McDonalds has some additives that make their food addictive? If it's ok to sue tobacco companies, couldn't a case be made for suing McDonalds?
-
The SCC has decided to allow BC to sue tobacco companies for healthcare costs and this is going to spread like wildfire through the provinces. Supreme Court ruling This is getting way out of hand. I can see them not being able to advertise to teens and having to sell to people over 18 or 19, but why not sue McDonalds for making people fat? Poor eating habits, kills many more people per year than smoking does. I am a smoker and I wish I wasn't, but how can I blame the tobacco companies if my health goes bad? I made the choice to start! A smoker is now a second class citizen in Canada and you are hardly able to smoke anywhere in public anymore! I pay more for health insurance because I smoke. You are limited to where you can smoke and although I understand the risks of second-hand smoke, it has gone out of control on banning smoking from everywhere. What about the risks of alcohol? Can they be sued? I agree, smoking is bad, but whose fault is it?? People need to be more accountable for their actions. The Supreme Court of Canada is beginning to look more like the Supreme Joke of Canada!

Coffin pleads guilty to fraud of $1.5 million
Leader Circle replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If I stole money from you, what should be done to me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd expect you to repay (as Coffin did) and be dealt with by the legal system. But I wouldn't blame your wife or family or anyone else but you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So delusional. It amazes me the ignorance of some people, deflecting the topic to make common theft acceptable as OUR GOVERNMENT! Wasted Rock Ranger! -
Some Tory MP's want Harper out
Leader Circle replied to newbie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Mirror, I think you're wrong about Stronach. If we had her as leader, with her wishy washy decisions and bringing nothing but fame & money to the table, what kind of wingnuts would the CPC look like? She has no credibility at all after defecting to the Liberals. She had no ideas for the party, she never offered up any platforms with which to run on and zero experience, how was she even qualified? She was useless to the CPC. She is not a Conservative anyway, never was. At best she was a red tory and they will gain a few vote in Ontario, but that's it. The CPC is far better off without her. Lets just see after the election, how many people are complaining about Harper. I think he'll prove them all wrong. 4787504239809340239849089038056468576989685 -
I take my hat off to Jean Chretien for not involving us in the two wars against Iraq. In my opinion, that outweighs any negatives that you can suggest about him. I think just about everybody (accept for a few half-wits) can see that it would have been wrong to participate in the second gulf war. The first gulf war was harder to call at the time. At the time, it was not public knowledge that the USA had told Saddam that it was OK to attack Kuwait. Considering that the Americans actually started the first gulf war, I'm glad (in hindsight) that Chretien kept us out of it. Besides the potentially thousands of potential deaths to Canadian boys, if Canada had participated, how about the potential for terrorist attacks on our country.... I'll agree with August on a few points though... Many of his inactions hurt Canadians... His re-negging on his promise to scrap Mulroney's regressive GST for one... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How can you even believe half of the shit you write? Does the GST not serve a purpose? The gulf war is not his shining moment either!

Layton Gears Up For Election Fight
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
In the last Ontario election the unions, OPSEU, CAW asked their members to vote Liberal, so that there would be no chance in hell that the Conservatives could get into power.A lot of people would say that your are a real arsehole for your quoted comment, but I won't... Anybody who read your last paragraph can come to that conclusion by themselves.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That last line was a joke...but I guess you're to stupid to figure that one out!! You must be a lefty! -

If you don't have an employer you probably are NDP anyway! As long as that gov't cheque keeps rolling, they'll keep voting NDP. Why go to work when your gov't will look after you! -

Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As far as proof that rights are better than lefts for running a fiscally responsible gov't...look at every province that was run into the ground and then try to tell me the NDP can manage money! It's that "welfare state" that makes the economy go to the shitter, because noone is working for themselves, they are dependant on their gov't to nurse them. NDP uplifts the poor, feeble & lazy, by spoon feeding them and taxes the shit out of the working man. How is this fiscally responsible? How do you help people who can't or are unwilling to help themselves? 5657438400-39093039490 -
Layton Gears Up For Election Fight
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Dreaming of a better Canada...yes... (Hold enough seats to control the minority gov't...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Canadians are messed up right now in their political leanings, but I just don't see them turning to the NDP as a way to recover the country from turmoil! If we wanted to go into a recession, we'd all vote NDP, if we want to keep this country on track we need to go with a right of center or centrist party and the Liberals have show that they cannot be trusted! I see the CPC as the only clear alternative to Canada's future. The lefty media needs to back off a bit. Mulroney is not a good example of today's Conservative voter. Mulroney was a wingnut at best! Canadians as a whole are fed up with politics and feel that no politicians can be trusted, so I see a very low turnout for the next election which will work well for the NDP, because no matter how many people vote 100% of NDP supporters will make it to the polls, because they work for a union that allows 2 hours of that day to vote! Their union basically tells them that they have to vote NDP and if they don't they will be blackballed! So for all the righties calling NDP's communist, I say you are way off base!!! This is very much a democratic party!! HAHA! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dear Leader Circle There is not a shred of evidence to suggest that the right is any better than the left at looking after government finances so you can remove that myth from your list. As far as voting goes, the Canadian election act states that employess have to be allowed 4 hours to go and vote so if the polls close at 8 PM and the employee regularly finishes work at 5 PM, the employer has to allow the employee off at 4 PM, one hour early. The union has nothing to do with how you vote as it is a secret ballot, so apart from making sure that the employer follows the law, the union has nothing to do with it. You can therefore remove that myth from your list as well. Do you get some sense of satisfaction from union bashing with absurd and inaccurate comments about how unions function. Just because a union turned your membership application down is no reason for you to be upset. 102 Cheers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have seen what unions tell their people about the NDP. They use scare tactics to get people to vote for the NDP. They urge union people to get active in the party, so that they can find out who is in support of the NDP. Don't tell me, they have nothing to do with the unions. They have 4 hours to go vote, so you think that most people wait for AFTER work to do this? Hell no, they go for 4 hours during work, because it is the UNION way! As far as the union membership, I don't need one. I run my own business and am rich as hell. I try to run over an NDP or a union employee with my Hummer at least once a week!!! -

Will Canada Choose Next Que Referendum Question?
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Leagalization of pot is not heavy on the minds of Canadians. Neither for making alcohol illegal. What we do need a referendum on is, something to bring Canadians back together instead of divided east & west. We need something to settle the discontent in Quebec and Alberta. Maybe a referendum isn't necessary as much as removing Paul Martin from power is! As far as Quebec, with the Clarity act, they will not be tricked by the question posed to them, no matter who asks the queston. I think most Quebecers are federalist, although the corruption in Canadian government with respect to them has made them wary of the Liberals and turn more to the Bloc! -
Wow, what a well thought out and considered response. Your invaluable contribution to raising the level of debate is greatly appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I sense some sarcasm there shoop, but I nearly spit up on my computer screen when I read it! Good Job! LOL

Tory Caucus Prepares For Sneak Liberal Election
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I love how Paul Martin's opponents try to smear him by presuming that he would act in certain way when there is abolutely no evidence that he would act that way. Martin said he would wait until the Gomery inquiry reported and he will wait. The fact that the Liberals called early elections before does not count as 'evidence' because this time Martin has staked his personal reputation on not calling an early election. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And his reputation is worth what??? Nothing!! Just because they have pulled a few funnies when it comes to an election is no proof??? My god, what world do you live in?? If PM thinks he is ahead in the polls he will purposely lose a confidence vote to get an election, then run to the media and say it wasn't my fault...I wanted to wait!!!! He is so fake and will go any which way the wind blows! We need to be rid of this wingnut!! -
Tory Caucus Prepares For Sneak Liberal Election
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This post shows how ignorant you actually are. You would prefer the Liberals steal from Canadian taxpayers pockets in order to get them re-elected???? Are you not a taxpayer or are you one of the people who got paid from the sponsorship program and want to get it reinstated???? This stuff is FACT! To say it is not enough to change your vote is funny, because what would it take?? Martin gotta go sleep with your wife? Would that sway your vote?? Any Liberal to call a Conservative close-minded is a hypocrit!!! What are these fiscal policies that the Conservatives would pass that you don't agree with??? So let our military fall to a more pityful level is what you stand for?Are you an insider on their caucus meetings to know what their fiscal policies would be??? Please enlighten us!! -
Harper Dares Martin To Call An Election Now
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Because when we actually go to the polls, if it were called soon, we would be hearing details of the Gomery report or the speculation of the results. Which would be damaging to the Libs. Alot of the campaigning would be done to remind Canadians of Gomery! I think even the NDP would trash the Libs about Gomery. -
Harper Dares Martin To Call An Election Now
Leader Circle replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canadians may be happy with the way things are right now, but all the worthless spending and vote-buying antics of PM have got to come back and haunt us. When will people realize, if we make a change now, we can help our chances of not having another recession? Another term of the Liberals may see the division of Canada as we know it today! Why not force a change by having an election and ridding us of a corrupt, spend happy goverment.
