  1. This may have been mentioned earlier, ever have a an interview when trying to find a new family doctor? I have, smokers weren't welcome, other people have too, some turned down for being too old, here in Canada. I wouldn't say it's the right thing to do, but it happens. Discriminatory? http://www.nationalpost.com/scripts/story.html?id=309fc048-8b96-4c21-8812-da393bdfb663
  2. Well thats good, because we know that young people lead the way in making good choices.
  3. I guess when your zeal to turn everything into a party advertisement is too strong this is what happens, really dumb move. For the second time in a month or so.
  4. http://www.cbc.ca/news/trending/joss-whedon-quits-twitter-after-avengers-age-of-ultron-backlash-1.3062196 A prime example of the lunacy of the SJW, these people are just not very smart, and we should stop caring what they think.
  5. Indeed it is comrade, if only there was some system by which we could ensure that we were all equally wealthy. The problem isn't really tax breaks for the rich, the problem is that those people already get to keep too much of their own money, none of them really earn it, the system just favors them, their alleged personal advantages like intelligence and work ethic are just an illusion, propaganda of the upper class. Everyone is equal, in time they will learn that just like flowers, that out of some aberration of circumstance dare grow taller than their neighbors, it is a simple matter to cut off their heads.
  6. Yea, a warning point and deletion, for call someone an idiot in a response to that person calling people idiots, while their post stands. It's difficult to believe any forum could be this badly managed. Now, go ahead and delete this too.

And remember to bow when "She" comes into the thread lest you upset Her Holiness and her minions "point" you.

  7. Depending upon where you look, say Canada, you can very easily make the case that the weapon available doesn't much matter under the circumstance that you describe, if fact, if you remove the known criminal element from the equation, the vast majority of other murders are committed with something other than a firearm, it's not even close.
  8. As an aside, Nasittuq lost the contract, it's all Raytheon now.
  9. "With climate change and ice melt, the Northwest Passage is becoming a viable transportation route - for commerce and also creates security issues." It is, exactly when is that? two weeks in August maybe? http://home.comcast.net/~ewerme/wuwt/cryo_latest.jpg
  10. Yep, within the limits we collectively decide to impose, now tell us why we can't tell people they can't have their faces covered, and then tell me it's their right, and it's their right because people decided it could be, except when we limit those rights, and on goes the infinite loop of lefty logic, that's of course until you point it out, then the train jumps the tracks right off the loop into, 'you're just a racist'.
  11. We are bad people for working hard and doing well, that's all. Jealousy is a terrible thing.
  12. Sometime i wonder if the charter did not protect some of these cultural or religious practices to the degree that it seems to would the same people who defend those practices continue to defend them in opposition to the charter? Or do you beleive in the rights of someone to keep their head covered simply because you have been told that they should have that right, in other words for you the charter is absolute, it is your moral and ethical guide? There are reasonable limits on our rights, peronally i don't think this practice is something we should want in this country, hopefully as others have said it will take care of itself over time as these women and thier offspring become more westernized. But i don't think the charter should protect that right, I beleive that because i also beleive it's a symbol of a repressive culture, something which is a negative for the country, representative of things we have been trying to leave behind, something we don't need more of. Meanwhile i see lots of arguments from those that support it that amount to, well the charter says so. As if the charter could possibly account for everything, what a simplistic view.
  13. Becuase there is certainly no difference between being a national party since confederation representing a point of view shared to some degree by millions and being a fringe party with one or two seats per election cycle, surely, that's a reasonable point of view.
  14. Well of course you are, and 'reporters' like Hannah and Rosie are besides themselves with glee about the whole thing, just as they are visibly negative everytime they have to speak about something positive the government has done, they are left leaning, just as almost everyone at the CBC is, about the only time you get something approaching a fair pov is when they have guest commentators on like Coyne, or Ivison. I watch some CBC, but being in the middle on most subjects I can actually see them for what they are, and they aim their broadcasts directly at their base, people like you. The nut's (not you) in the comment section their are all you need to know about the type of audience they attract. I have even noticed a new slant in their advertising of their own product, Mansbridge talking about how they don't make the news (cuz they keep getting accused of it, and for good reason), and then in another ad talking about how if their reporting changes a policiy (assuming government, possibly their own about how badly thier talent can behave) then that's just the reporting the news...sure it is. Last week he opens with, 'climate change is changing the weather', umm, actual real scientitst don't know if that's actually thcase yet, but, there at the CBC, they just report it like it is, no agendas. So Peter, how about the record low years in Tornado activity and Hurricane activity, explain please...? Of course if they keep moving the goal posts in peoples minds of what reporting the news is, eventually they will find a common ground, and if it hasn't already that will become the new normal. Anyway, I hope Duffy gets what he deserves, and if the government tried to cover it up or did something illegal i will consider that in my decision this fall, but so far all we have is 'look at how incompetent the PM was for appointing him', and that just won't wash, nobody had a problem with his appointment. He is hardly the first or last person to get a new job and fail miserably.
  15. Maybe, but that was the myth last time too, the ABC campaign, which failed, if the liberals had a real leader they would have a much better chance, i'd rather vote for Ignatief than Trudeau, he's an embarassment, our left leaning GW Bush.
  16. Then im sure I did, my wife is the specialist when it comes to taxes. It was a signifiact increase over last year.
  17. Yea, i remember the grass around the river, long, very green, it was probably 12 years ago.
  18. Sure, play dumb, it was up thread a way, anyway, my tax refund this year was significantly higher thanks to the government allowing me to keep more of the money i worked for, which was quite helpful, and I expect that next year will be even better with income splitting, it's just too bad for me that my kids are almost too old to allow me to claim it. Im not wealthy, I make a good living and work lots of extra hours to do so, the real crux of this discussion is that you want other people to have the money i work for, which is fine, i want them to have some of it too, it's good for the country, the question is how much. Considering how much i work and how much I make im not living the high life, so getting a little more of what i work for to pay my bills and maybe help my kids with their education is a good thing. The idea that it's just rich people, or upper middle class people benefiting is UTTER NONSENSE.
  19. It's great how you instantly went from claiming that a tax break is taking money from others to wanting to take money from others and give it to those who did not work for it.
  20. Been there in June, it was surprsingly green.
  21. Already has, i mean just last week they told my wife to stay home and stationed troops on the street in front of my house to make sure she did.
  22. Yea, just like the war on drugs, we clearly need to make shooting people, or threatening to, super double illegal, cuz we know that works. I hear that drugs are hard to come by, especially if you happen to be a criminal, nearly impossible, and of course when they happen to come across drugs they immediately call the, register my stash hotline, just in case they get tempted to actually use them. I love it when you twist yourself into knots trying to make every subject fit your broken ideology. Longer sentences for actual bad guys, well golly gee, can't have that, useless law that doesn't prevent crimes, well golly gee that sounds great! So, so broken.
  23. Nope, we're almost like Texas, there I said it, I lobotomized myself last night and I now almost agree with the left wing fringe.
  24. O yay! Lets talk about all of the other religions or cultural practices that no one has a problem with! Wait, are you a anti Jewish bigot? You singled them out and no one was even talking about them....hmmm, yep, diagnosis, bigot. Btw, do Jews cover themselves head to toe? I don't think so, so not only are you a bigot, your argument was irrelevant, well at least you tried, maybe you will do better next time. bigot bigot bigot! Wow, it's really easy to just yell that word over and over, it makes for such an intelligent argument, what a great debating tactic. One more thing, I think it's great that you are allowed to compare forum members to Hitler, that also speaks very highly of the forum in general, very highly.
