So how about slaves? Is that still cool or have we as a society seen that this is wrong? If owning another human being has become wrong than when will judging them for being in a same sex relationship?
-
What does the bible have to do with trans? Or anything really? Other than a form of brainwashing for the masses. I am all for the people to have the right to change their sex if they want to. None of my business and it is really such a small number of people I feel the Gay rights groups are just picking a fight to be heard. You wanna change into a he/she? By all means have at it.But pay for it yourself. The argument about who should pay for it well I would rather those funds go into stem cell research or other medical studies. These funds would be better spent elsewhere and not because somebody in a committee wrote it down a couple thousand years ago

As a proud white male that has no problem being in a relationship with female of any color I have to say whenever another whitey starts using the bible for a defense of an argument I get pretty embarrassed. Just because you let a book brainwash you does not mean others have to live by that script that was written to control the masses. The religious sects gives us right wingers a bad name

Credit where credit is due. The Ontario Liberals did indeed start the ball rolling with expanding the CPP and as far as money flushed down the toilet they did a pretty good job keeping the tab down this time. http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/taxpayers-spent-close-to-20m-on-ontario-pension-plan-that-never-started-and-is-now-winding-down This is of course the first count the Wynne government has released and will likely be more but I must admit I was surprised it did not have another zero or two behind it. Things are looking up for Ontario

By blind luck Wynne has managed to avoid what would not doubt been another scandal in the coming months. I liked the idea of extra retirement pensions but had no faith in the Wynne government to not raid the funds as another "revenue tool" This is one promise that I am glad the Ontario Liberals broke. After 13 years of lies and broken promises it was bound to happen.

Federal Vote Reform? You vote according to taxes...
Ash74 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How does anyone not pay taxes? HST/GST is on just about everything. If a student has a beer he or she pays taxes for the beer. Income tax is just one of the many ways all Canadians pay for the services we have. The question should be asking is "should you have more say if you pay more taxes" -
I could not agree with you more. Now we have people that are "suffering" from white privilege. What a farce. If you want to make the world a better place we have to eliminate all prejudices not create new ones.

Canadians Solidly Behind Justin Trudeau
Ash74 replied to ReeferMadness's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I admit that The Prime Minister has not really done anything I can really complain about except saying I was rich and did not need a tax cut during the campaign. He is pretty and is good with crowds. As far as Cancon goes. It being Canada's version of the 1930's German Student Union has been very quiet for the last couple years and i bless them for it. I watch, read and listen to what I want. Have no desire to be told what to enjoy. Must say that Melanie Joly is a damn sight better to look at than Sheila Copps. Better to listen to as well. Not nearly as annoying. -

Ontario announces plan to destroy its economy
Ash74 replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
In all fairness we have been lied to many, many times by the Ontario Liberals and their numbers have been "stretch goals" when talking about the cost to the people of Ontario. I actually believe Wynne had this leaked so she would be safely out of the country and with all the other announcements coming out of Queen's Park this new climate change plan will be yesterday's news. Combined with a watered down version so the Liberals can claim that they listened to the people and acted accordingly. -
http://www.torontosun.com/2016/03/15/free-tuition-isnt-exactly-free-wynne-notes Does it surprise any that we are once again disappointed by the Ontario Government? When Wynne's government was saying free education it was just another "stretch goal" We are asked to but are trust into her ability to run a new pension plan or a cap and trade plan.

Who knew Canadians cares so much about Ketchup?
Ash74 replied to Boges's topic in Business and Economy
It is brilliant. Free enterprise at its finest. People are demanding something and are forcing the biggest grocery chain in Canada too comply. -
Are Sexy Restaurant Outfits a Human Rights Issue?
Ash74 replied to Boges's topic in Sex and Gender Issues
LOL....Could not resist. In the article it say's Hooters has not replied with a statement. How can you have the same uniform since the doors were open and it is made very clear what the waitresses are dressed like and call that a human violation? Or are these girls even employed as waitresses? Disney use to call their employee's cast members to control the appearance of the staff -

Sex. Will not need any training. -

I do not agree with the term "slut" If a guy sleeps with a bunch of girls he is respected or at the very least accepted while a woman is looked down upon. I don't see it that way. I just think she will be good at it. If you apply for a job at Hooters you should have enough sense to know what the uniforms are. -
You gotta be nuts to pay for cable right now. There is nothing I cannot stream including all sports events. No commercials and no monthly fee's. I doubt this will last forever but right now it saves me some cash and keeps the Canadian Gestapo from my money

Which makes it even more important now to jump on this before that happens. Besides......We are a different country and all. Canadian. Different flag and everything.

True but The Federal Government is staying out of it. http://www.ibtimes.com/marijuana-legalization-2016-washington-dc-briefly-approves-private-pot-clubs-then-2251865 and since when do Liberals care about breaking promises?
-
Actually JT could have easily done it by legalizing it and letting the provinces decide how to regulate it. Wynne was on it like a fat kid on a smartie. She loves regulations and things to tax. Combined with giving it to the LCBO to keep her union buddies happy. The U.S has states that have legalized pot. What is holding us back?

Ontario's deficit and debt-entirely the Liberal Party's fault
Ash74 replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
It is the Ontario Liberal tradition to build the wrong thing or in the wrong place -
Ontario's deficit and debt-entirely the Liberal Party's fault
Ash74 replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
No. If they had it would have been a real disaster. My point was that if the Ontario Liberals build it something will go wrong. -

Ash74 replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
It depends on how the money is spent. http://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2016/02/25/how-to-avoid-the-next-up-express-debacle.html By itself this is a dumb thing Mixed in with soooooooo many other Government projects it just seems business as usual for the Ontario Liberals -
Handy if you live in Toronto. Rest of the province is ignored except to build windmills and collect taxes. IF you think The Big Move is going to be a success than the history of the last 13 years has been lost on ya

Really liked the access to secondary education was brilliant. Killing coal was good. Green energy act was crap and still is but that is another thread. Even agreed with the health care tax that McGuinty first lied about. It was a good call. Health care was suffering from the Harris/Martin cuts. Finally killing the drive clean program is long overdue. There are a few things I think that The Ontario Liberals have done right but their screw ups outweigh the successes.
