Ontario's ORPP - What's Your Opinion?
Ash74 replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I am all for the voluntary top up. Free will and all. I am not even being greedy because I have a pension that should get me out of paying Wynne more money. I also think Harper is wrong about not increasing CPP. I just know and I only have history to go on. The Ontario Liberals have no clue what they are doing here and I am sure, I mean I would bet money. This is going to get screwed up. -
Ontario Liberals and the Federal election

I am wondering if she does indeed know exactly what she is doing. Ontario has a history of not having the same party in office Federal and Provincial. I am wondering if she is setting up for the next election. She could also blame any tax hikes (and there a comin whether you call them cap or trade or pension) on not getting any help from Ottawa. I loathe her polices but would never claim she is stupid. Her cabinet is very much a bunch of second stringers that have fumbled repeatedly and she has made some rookie mistakes(can you imagine if Harper's staff had been caught recorded offering a job to somebody if they stepped down, the rage from the people on this site that are now all quiet about Wynne) but she is not stupid.Slimy but not stupid. -

You have a valid point. If Wynne offered the usual boat load of cash she has in the past. The teachers would be making the students prey to her statue every morning -
Party Leaders are lying about energy taxes and the environment
Ash74 replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That I would agree with. It promotes and rewards those that use less emissions. The cap and trade that is generally used is nothing more than a tax grab. This money will fall into general revenue and will not reduce emissions. -

But I thought that everything that is bad in Ontario was the fault of Mike Harris http://www.torontosun.com/2015/08/11/ontario-created-its-doctor-shortage -
Yes as much as I may disagree with people.(Racists,Politically Correct people,Liberals) I feel I have no right to stop them from spewing their crap. My fear is that once you stop one thing that is said it leads to another and another and another. If it keeps up it will be like we are all living on a university campus http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/brian-hutchinson-free-speech-rights-not-protected-on-university-campus-judge-tells-pro-lifers

How is cap and trade anything more than a tax grab? Government charges the companies and the companies dump the cost onto the people. It does nothing to curb emissions but looks pretty for the environmentalists -

http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2015/08/11/wynne-to-provide-details-on-new-provincial-pension-plan.html but only cost a cup of expensive coffee a day. Assuming you work seven days a week. Combined with the cup of coffee to pay off the gas plant mess. The Ontario Liberals are saving us from drinking too much coffee. -

But according to the Liberals it is all Harper's fault Ontario is no longer the giant it was was. Has nothing to do with anything the Ontario Liberals have done. http://www.thestar.com/news/queenspark/2015/08/07/ontario-cabinet-minister-blames-conservative-government-for-poor-job-growth.html -

It will be used as a new "Revenue Tool" for the government that 25 years from now is going to be yet another huge bill for us to pay. -

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/orpp-ontario-to-start-implementing-new-pension-plan-in-2017 In this article the Liberals cannot even guess how much it will cost. Ok. Even those of you that are proud Wynne supporters how does this not scare you with their history of spending and screw ups? -

Her timing was perfect. Right before the election was started. If Harper had said yes to help set it up she could have shared the blame with him. Harper said no so now she can have something else to complain about. -

The concept I agree with but I like the Saskatchewan plan better. Many of the details are still very fuzzy and Wynne has claimed that it will be invested out of arms reach of general revenue but has made comments that it will be invested in infrastructure. It sounds like she is getting ready to dump this new "revenue tool" into her pet projects. Also it is going to hurt small businesses. Big businesses will complain but it will be the small ones that suffer. That is the way it usually is -

Back to topic http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/kelly-mcparland-kathleen-wynne-helps-no-one-with-her-outbursts-about-harper I think Wynne is just putting up a stink so she can start blaming all the terrible things that are about to happen in Ontario on a Harper win. Her current popularity is down and she is looking for a shake up. Or she could be trying for a win in the by election so she will not have to face the new leader of the P.C party. Her grand standing will not help JT nor will her being seen with Bill Blair the police carding champion. -

i read that when it was first published and I thought it was a joke than. As much as the teachers gestapo would like to control the world http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2012/11/30/ontario_teachers_labour_dispute_poll_suggests_nearly_50_believe_unions_tactics_ineffective.html This articulate shows people supported the teachers when their contract was broken but have little love for the teachers union. Sending people to brain washing courses is not going to help the cause -

I will be damned if I feel guilty about being white anymore than I would feel prejudice towards another race. Self loathing is not going to make the world a better place. On this very thread you talked about self esteem and now you are preaching about teaching young students to be ashamed of being white. Nice..............I am a man of many sin's for which I do not expect any forgiveness BUT I AM NOT A HYPOCRITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

That is harsh even for a right wing nut like me. I do agree that this sense of entitlement that is going to leave a lot of very naive people behind. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/teacher-fired-for-giving-zeros-says-policy-hasn-t-changed-1.2753783 How is this educating? Our Premier likes to think of herself as a defender of education and yet the teachers are still doing job actions on her government. -

For not being able to do the job I hired them for. I train or have them trained and give ample amount of time. I also have regular meetings with new employee's and explain to them what they are doing right and wrong. If they do not show up for their shifts without reason I terminate for that Stealing Sexual Harrassment Violence. -

How is leaving them unprepared or uneducated help them? Self esteem is a wonderful thing. So is knowing how to read. I train my employee's but I do not cuddle them. If they fail to grasp the job I have hired them for than I fire them. That is the real world. -
