That is a good idea. Of course by this time I will have already been shot or sent to a labor camp. Same could be done for those positions like air traffic controller or other high stress jobs.
-
But your original post had the concept of no countries. So where would the "non justice" people go?
-
So out of the 10 people that have commented on your system I am the first to be banished . What will you do with the hundreds of millions of people that refuse? Where will we go when there are no countries or borders? Will a wall be built to keep us out or perhaps to keep the people in your system in? That has been done. I didn't work out well.

In this day an age any job that pays a decent wage is hard to come by.

Kim Campbell Needs a Head Shake.....Badly.

Trump has not been charged with anything because of his locker room talk. He has the right to voice his opinion. Just as those that disagree with his opinion have the right not to agree with him and would be a moot issue except for the small detail that he is running for public office. Now those people that disagree with him are excising their right and not voting for him and expressing their right to saying why. I don't get the issue? Because a former PM does not agree with Trump? It is a small matter that gives the Trump people something to use their right and complain about it. -
I will dispute that doctors generally feel a huge emotional reward for what they do. I for one feel they deserve more than the job I perform but at the same time I feel I deserve more than a floor cleaner. I do not dispute it is a necessary job but it it does not require the education and the knowledge then my position. Why should a more difficult job be not rewarded?
-
But why try and be a doctor or vet when the stock clerk next door receives the same rewards? Where is the challenge?
-
And who will make those decisions about children that will decide what they do for the rest of their lives? Every time you give more detail you add more and more clues that your society will have more and more rules and shackles "all for the greater good" You best start with an army to quell the riots.

You asked for people's opinions in your first post and I am giving mine. It is a wonderful concept but My opinion is that it will not work. It cannot because of human nature. Some people will take advantage and some will see no reason to do more than is expected. Why would you invite a longer lasting light bulb when the guy next door gets the same rewards when he/she cuts the grass at parks? So your Utopia will banish those that do not submit. Is there another land close by or is it a death sentence because there are some handy labor camps in North Korea I am sure you could send people.
-
So the only way to stop human nature is to crush it with a totalitarian government. Does not sound like a utopia anymore.

So if I decide I need a bugatti veyron the state will HAVE to give me one? Nice. Do I have to prove I NEED one? Cause I really do.

Ok I admit I am have no trust or good will towards the Ontario Liberals. https://www.thestar.com/business/2016/10/11/ontario-cap-and-trade-system-will-come-next-year-aims-to-reduce-emissions-wynne.html But for those that feel she is doing a good or positive job running Ontario. Do any of you believe that the new cap and trade is anything more than a new tax? Does anybody believe that it will cost only an extra $5 dollars a month in heat and 4 cents a liter in gas? That there will be no other cost increases in any other products or services? Please educate me

Yes I really did read what you said. Nowhere did you say that there would be a personal benefit to working. All you claimed is that all would love our jobs. Good luck with that. You failed to mention that people would be given tasks by the state. Every time somebody pokes holes in your Utopia theory you claim that we didn't read your original post. I am sorry but as wonderful as this world you have created sounds it just would not work.
-
Plus the minor detail that kills this whole concept is just "why would I work?" If I could sit at home playing with my kids, watching TV, sitting out in my backyard ,etc, etc if I didn't need too? What if 5 billion people all said that? How would you force people to do their fair share? This would turn into a disaster very quickly and is a silly concept.
-
Who decides what we need? Who decides which color of shoes we wear? Who decides that that person has to clean the septic tanks? Who decides what shape of a house will fulfill our needs? Who will decide what food we need to survive or who will farm it? There is still the factor of my neighbors spouse might be more attractive than mine or is the plan to assign mates as well? Your Utopia here reads like Owell's nightmare. Sure sounds like hell. The lack of choices or challenges just sounds boring.

Wynne says Hydro rates an "Urgent" Issue
Ash74 replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Soooooooo here we go. After 13 Years it is all the fault of Mike Harris. Of course it is. Not the fault of the ontario liberals even if every auditor has shown that we as the general public of ontario have over payed for hydro due to bad planning and poor decisions of the present government. No no. It is all mike harris -
An example of how screwed up health care is in Ontario
Ash74 replied to Argus's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
It is not just ontario that is failing in health care. In Canada we very much have a two teir system . The general public wait their turn and hope for the best while the rich go to the U.S and get the best treatment money can buy. -
I really enjoyed it. It kept my interest. The Ed Harris character theory is a good one. I thought at the time when I was watching it that the show is missing the part that has people screaming for "robot rights"

Wynne says Hydro rates an "Urgent" Issue
Ash74 replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Harris will seem like a spending machine compared to what it is going to take to get Ontario back to a sensible economic position. Sure we have low corporate taxes but we have high energy rates and regulations that make running a business a nightmare. -
Which is why I suggested product placement and smarter people than me should be able to come up with other clever way's to advertise. If studios do not adapt to this new form of watching shows than yes they will perish. I have no guilt about using KODI or other downloads and have helped others set their systems up. The cable company's and studio's have been ripping people off for generation's. I am just taking some back
-
You are so right about these things Many on the right want to ban everything and send more people to jail for taking part and those on the left only want things highly regulated turned into a giant bureaucracy so more people can be on the government payroll . On the right it is all about holding on to Christian values while on the left it is bashing those values unless it is in the name of Islam. A very good argument you made there Betsy. The only fair thing to do is ban all religion. It is the only sensible way for us as a species to move on.

Am I not a freeloader if I watch free to air TV with commercials and not buy the products being advertised? Have you ever gotten up to use the washroom or get a drink skipping the commercials? When I read an online newspaper and close the pop ups? I seriously believe that product placement will start to be used. Period pieces will suffer and I admit I am watching mostly BBC programming lately which I cannot receive without paying for cable and I would not have the ability to watch what I wanted to watch when I have time to watch it in the manner I do now. I find Canadian TV boring and I watch American TV less and less. So I will continue my freeloading ways and watch what I like.
-
I do not have to look.. I have a box that lets me watch anything, any time with no commercials and I don't have to pay the Canadian Gestapo tax on it all for the price of internet. Which I am also over charged for.
-
All this fear of piracy. I am guilty as hell of it. I am not ashamed of it at all. I also use to loan my friends music tapes to copy and let them borrow my movies. I pay for unlimited high speed internet and Rogers has over charged me for years. I will enjoy the free tv for as long as I can. I still pay for netflix because it is easier for my toddler to use but when she is old enough and wants her own android box than I will get her one. This is the future and media must adapt or fail. Product placement would work for many shows and in the UK there is a TV tax (good luck with that here) but life will go on. Yes you can say how I am a terrible person and what not, but I just don't care. I refuse to pay for stations I do not want or that only use languages I do not speak.
