I think the NDP's surge has literally nothing to do with the Cons attack ads. Harper lost support to the NDP because people really just don't like him and Trudeau lost a lot of support to the NDP for supporting bill c-51. It really is that simple. Now both Trudeau and Harper have to come up with something to wow the Canadian public or they are done. After you include the cons latest scandals they are more than likely dropping even further behind. No amount of terriblely thought out attack ads will save them from the hole they have been digging themselves.

Does the CPC's new attack ad violate C-51?

I'm not going to read through all that. Quote the specific section that pertains to propaganda having to be about your own prisoners of war please. -

Can you quote the specific section of the Geneva Convention that mentions that? Apparently it doesn't matter whom the prisoner of war belong to, rather that they are being exploited in political propaganda for political gain. Any "News" station can easily show images of prisoners of war. Unless you consider all news propaganda, which I'm sure the Geneva Convention does not. The news stations could easily say we are just reporting on news, weather it benefits a party, is out of our control. The real fact of the matter is not weather Harper will be convicted of this internationally, we know that will not happen. The real fact of the matter is that the Conservative party is using prisoners of war, prisoners of war that have died, to further their own political agenda. Say what you want about any other political party but that's low, even for conservatives. -

Their state may not be recognized but they are without a doubt in a war with other factions in the region. The definition of war; "a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state." Would say that this is without a doubt, a war. Not sure how the international legal definition defines it but I would call any armed conflict between two separate factions a war. What are they if they are not prisoners of war? -
Jays definitely need a closer. Jansen just wasn't the same after his injury, he was one of my favourite players. Just had that closer swagger. You know he can come in a throw pinpoint heat with just the right amount of junk and get you a save on any given night. A good closer is a rare commodity though.

I've briefly looked through it but there's a lot of information to go through so I'm not even sure if it actually in there. I was hoping someone here might have a better idea on where to look and what part it may be in. -
Truth and Reconciliation... Legitimacy

Maybe, you better move to the US just in case it happens. In fact tell all your buddies and take them with you. -

I read a comment about this that states that; The commercial could be in violation of the Geneva Conventions. The use of prisoners of war for (political) propaganda purposes is (internationally) outlawed. Images of prisoners of war cannot be used in political ads to denounce opposing parties or to further political gain. The conservatives could be in more hot water than they could have possibly thought. Even if nothing happens internationally, if of course this violates the Geneva Convention. Though I'm sure no international measures will be taken. If the Canadian public becomes aware of this, it could really hurt them. They seem to be doing damage to themselves. It's like they want Muclair to win. Can anyone confirm if this violates the Geneva Convention? I've been looking but there's a lot to skim through. -
I can't speak for LessActive but tattooing is just going to get more and more popular in my opinion. The generation that thinks it's taboo is getting older and fading away, they no longer matter as much in a pop culture sense, they do not set trends anymore, they are not fashionable and their opinion on these things no longer matters. Sorry to say but it's true. Youth like tattooing, youth are comfortable with tattooing, workplaces are getting more comfortable with tattooing, 20-30 years down the road, tattooing may only be taboo in more highly professional workplaces, if at all.

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll

The Liberals seem to be just sitting back and waiting, like they have an ace up their sleeve. If they don't it's a dumb move because it is already costing them with their support of C-51. They're going to need some hefty artillery in order to claw back into the race. Things will get really interesting in the coming weeks if they do. -
Losing Seguin, Lucic and Hamilton for virtually nothing in the past few years must sting pretty hard.

If you've every been around a Pride Day you will know that there is a very long history of homosexual persecution. Many white supremists say the same about black history month. Take that for what you think it's worth. You're the one that gives it meaning by making it such a big deal. The more you stop caring about it, the less power it has in your life. It's a simple concept, try it out. -

hahaha that's not proof it's just a story... nothing more than a shaky opinion piece. Yeah I'm sure a "Tory Insider" gave him "the scoop". Sounds like a scared Harper looking for some character assassination. There's no low that scumbag won't go to is there. I Bet you believe it to don't you? If a "Tory Insider" told you the earth was flat, you'd be on here championing that one too wouldn't you? -
Depends on the improvement in battery technology and where they go. Time will tell.

Only if you still use coal fire electricity. If you use Nuclear to produce it, geothermal, wind, solar. Than I guess that argument falls apart.

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll
PrimeNumber replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It will not be a landslide majority. You and I both know that. it all depends on what other stupid things Harper and Trudeau do until the election and weather Muclair can stay relatively clean. The Harper regime will fall, this fall. -

NDP Make Big Move in Latest EKOS Poll

I'm sure he does, Harper has more. He will be running for that closet come election time, though I'm sure he's comfortable with that closet now. The youth are energized, they really don't like Harper. Look around you, it's the youth leading this NDP charge. It was in Alberta and it will be federally. I work with many people under 30 from across the country, it's pretty unanimous that they don't like Harper and will be doing something about it. It was them that told me to make sure I am registered on elections Canada website because of harpers election changes. I wasn't, even though I've voted in the last elections. They're pissed. It's leaders like Harper that mobilize the youth. Harper will be hiding in that closet by the time the election is over. I've never heard more people under 30 more interested in politics in my life, talking about it every day. It's a strange thing but it's good. They're listening and they don't like what they're hearing. All the money in the world won't help Harper. Whats funny is the attack ads don't sit well with young Canadians. They hate them, the like the legalization of marijuana and they aren't excited about wars. Harpers last day is booked for October. -
I don't think you understand. The crop is going to feed either way. The feed is sold, all of it. No matter what. If the USA does not produce this feed, another country will. Not using that 40% will not decrease the cost of the feed. Because it will be produced elsewhere. The demand is there. It's simple economics of supply and demand. I suggest you learn some simple economics. China and India are using most of it, if the US does not produce it. China and India still need it, so someone else will be producing it. How is that hard to understand. The price will remain unchanged. This was laid to bed awhile ago, keep up with the times.

I was just reading an article about it's use in electric cars to reduce power consumption on the battery. in a Hydrogen Cell vehicle it could have some incredible results. As well as in internal combustion engines, giving even better MPG.

hahaha keep telling yourself that so you can sleep at night. But in the back of your head you know if the youth in this country ever get mobilized to vote, it won't be for Harper. It happened in Alberta, it will happen Federally. It's going to take a big screw up on Muclairs part to change anything. When you can get the Middle Age, Youth, Union, Quebec and Liberal vote after Trudeaus screw up in supporting c-51 you've got the election in the bag. Don't forget that there are more people that vote left in this country then vote right, when they have a reason to come out and vote and align their vote on a single left-aligned party, even a single powerful right-aligned party doesn't stand a chance. Harpers days are numbered. -
That's just not true. Either way the US is producing the animal feed, regardless if they also produce the biofuels. Not making the boifuels will not stop the animal feed from being produced.

So it could finally be what revolutionizes the energy industry? When I said transportation energy I was referring to replacing fossil fuels as the primary source of energy in automobiles.
