  1. Teaching women in history is fine, there is also a black history month - that's fine too, but it doesn't stop there - does it?
  2. I know a lot more about twins (my twins) then either you or them. Doesn't matter what they think anyway, the fact is; you and they obviously have a cookie cutter idea of what twins are, they think they know better than me - and that's the issue. My twins have separate friends (mostly), and don't even sit beside each other - never have, they sit by their friends just like every other kid tries to do.
  3. Only if the parents values are the same as theirs, otherwise they feel perfectly fine enforcing their own values?
  4. I have twins and every single year, I have to fight the school because they insist that twins need to be separated for their own social well being. EVERY F@@KING YEAR!
  5. of course I believe in equal rights...for everybody. You posted a loose outline the curriculum, but what do you actually think gets taught?
  6. So, at the heart of the matter is "feminism". We want to officially teach feminism to children at the earliest ages. I'm still waiting for you to enlighten me as whats in these courses and how they are taught.
  7. Is this question relevant?
  8. justice equals distribution, not fairness!
  9. The idea of "social justice" being taught by a group of people who have no issue telling the world that they're the pillars of society and deserve more than everybody else...and who actually fish for charity from people making a fraction of what they do - well, that just delicious irony.
  10. Conservatism is not socialism. The point is, which i'm sure you know; teaching socialism or feminism alone is just as bad as teaching bible studies. BTW - What does justice mean to you?
  11. Maybe they were a convenient target...I'm good with that!
  12. Why don't you enlighten me?
  13. There is nothing about teaching social justice that allows for independent thought. It's teaching one opinion or one side of a story. What if you took a course in politics and all they taught you was "why conservatism is better"?
  14. If there is deniers, there must also be believers. No, not every believer or denier is a scientist - weird question though!
  15. No, Ive seen it first hand. Teachers feel it's their obligation to not just teach, but to inject their views into a topic. Try doing a climate change report without taking the side of the believers and see what the marks and comments are?
  16. Gender Studies - Grade 11 This course enables students to explore the social construction of gender. Students will learn about the dynamic nature of gender roles and norms; sexism and power relations; and the impact of representations of women and men in the media, popular culture, and the arts. Students will analyse a range of gender equity issues, including gender-based violence and workplace equity, in both Canadian and global contexts. Students will develop and apply research skills and will design and implement a social action initiative relating to gender equity. So....it all comes down to feminism! Well, who coulda guessed that!
  17. Well, maybe I shouldn't have quoted your post, it was a more general rant about the situation, and how fucked up people are to actually think this is a good thing.
  18. So, your Ok with some girl that you don't even know teaching your child to be a good little socialist from kindergarten right on up? It's bad enough now without someone actually mandating it! It would be a hell storm to mandate religion, but they want to mandate socialism now. FFS, it's madness!
  19. Complete social engineering is what it is. I don't need or want somebody who hasn't seen the outside of a school teaching my kids social justice. Sorry, in the real world people work past 3pm, generally 12 months a year and can actually get fired. What do these people know about the social world? They go out for sushi with other teachers on friday night...great! What do they know about justice? Have they even seen it from their (mwahaha! I can't be fired job)? Sorry, I'll teach my kid when and whom to share with and I'll teach them when to take what is theirs. Just teach my kid math and english, thank you! Leave the politics to me and keep your indoctrination to yourselves.
  20. Not really, what I use is used only to do work for clients. Meaning, I buy stuff, take it to work, use it on a clients site, and leave it. Most of It probably should be paid for by someone else, but i'm not gonna run to the internet and whine about it. Some restaurats require people to buy their own uniforms, people pay for rain gear, steel toes, chain saws, suits, chefs supply their own knives, nurses buy scrubs...whatever. The fact is; nearly everybody has work expenses. This is where I really think the teachers are out of touch with the rest of society. So, they go to a dollar store and buy some markers and posters (and that is what they do) - big deal! There is an income tax deduction for work expenses - for a reason.
  21. Why yes they are, but you do know how a tax deduction works, I'm sure. Come to think of it - only some are.
  22. Really, I was thinking that teaching is perhaps the least costly profession as far as out of pocket expenses go, Personally, just to begin my job, a person has to spend 2-3K and follow that up with at least $1000-1500 per year (including gear, medicals and mandatory tests).
  23. http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/joseph-plaskett-canadian-painter-dies-at-96-1.2774301 Joseph Plaskett has also died, it's been 4 days and not a word from WCR about this. I am outraged...yes outraged!
  24. Ironically, the men I know all to a man hate seeing small girls involved with pageants. It's sick women who live their lives vicariously through their kids that is the problem.
  25. Oh, more censorship from the left!
