If nothing else; at least we can openly use the word "pussy" now.
-
Their thoughts seem rather obvious if you watched the video.
-
I take issue with the vibrator comment more than the FHRITP thing because that actually was directed at her. Slimy Toronto metrosexuals.
-
Emotions certainly change depending on the individual, you posted quotes that range from "unnerving" to "rape" and I would suggest (knowing some pretty strong and liberated women) that others wrote it off as just "rude idiots" and got on with life. The Quote that strikes out at me the most is this one; "I'm just saddened that in 2014 we need to be having this conversation." We are having this conversation exactly because it's 2014. This stuff wasn't happening 10 or 20 years ago, fact is; we are living in a world that accepts this. It actually saddens me a little. We see interviewers asking Gwenyth Paltrow and others about their pubic hair, asking Martha Stewart about having 3 somes, that disgusting video of Sharon Osbourne and her pals and you can't see a sitcom where every joke is sexualized or drama where men aren't abusive. It goes on and on. This is what we get by raising a self indulgent, do as I please, push the limits society.

I think seeing a dude get fired is pretty good education for most of these people. I hope...and think we'll see and end to this. As I saw in the "men's rights" thread (the Sharon Osborne video in particular), if this type of poor behaviour and lack of common decency is accepted and not addressed, it just increases the division among sexes. Videos like the FHRITP are getting worse and overwhelming joy discussing male mutilated genitalia is getting worse. As for those comments you posted, some seen reasonable, some seem a little exaggerated. I'll leave it at that.

I'll ask you, what I asked Jacee; what should we do with these perpetrators? BTW - Have we also changed the meaning of the word "violence"?
-
So, what do you recommend be done with these people?
-
Nationalism and patriotism are discriminatory.

Being a match for Eugene Melnyk would be like winning the lottery.

Of course it should be stopped, hopefully this/these guys losing their jobs will help that. My only real issue here, is that you ( and the media in general) don't seem to give a rats that it happens to men as well. If one reads that CBC article, they'd think that it's a women only issue and that certain female reporters are targeted and spoken directly to with the comment. When in reality, it happens to both sexes equally. I've called the comment "sexist" earlier in the thread - sure, it a general sexist remark. But, Is it a comment directed specifically toward the reporter? No! They're hooligans and hopefully this dude getting fired will curb their idiocy.
-
Do you see the irony?
-
Now, I'm not gonna watch all the videos - for obvious reasons, but in this video, I counted 43 FHRITP's. 22 with a female reporter and 21 with a male reporter. That tells me that these guys (and 2 girls) are not targeting female reporters, in fact they're mostly drunks and people just walking by.

You seem to have energized your base. I thought you were done, but glad to see you back - really. These people were lost without you! Anyway, just to update you, In post #8...#8, I stated that this dude should be fired if he said that. Since then I've called the actions offensive, rude and obnoxious - and been very clear about it. I also believe that nobody should have to endure that treatment - men or women. I gotta think your issue is that I'm supporting both the men and women who are bombed with this obnoxious stunt. That's weird, don't you think?
-
Thank goodness you're back, I was getting worried. Maybe you could share your thoughts?
-
It is offensive, I think Ive made that pretty clear.
-
The point is; and it's too bad that I have to spell it out for you, that you say "dependants" which is accurate, but when it suited the Dems. they tried to change the parameter of of what a "child" is. So, when one disagrees with what a Democrat considers a child, it's spun to try and show that those people hate children. If one disagrees with what a "feminist" or "feminism" or "sexism" is; they are branded a misogynist. Very similar!
-
"Hey, Argus is a big asshole". You're right, that does sound better!
-
Pathetic losers - likely! Angry and frustrated - doubtful! You guys (Argus, Wilber, Cyber etc) are assigning too much thought into these people. It is probably a situation of "Dare me to..." or "I'll give you 20 bucks to do the pussy comment", with alcohol probably playing a part in most instances. Have you ever seen "Fubar", "Trailer park boys" or "Myrtle Manor" or even any of the "fail" videos on youtube? That's the mentality we're dealing with here. I've seen guys acting rude, obnoxious and offensive many times, I've seen many a bachelorette party degenerate into obnoxious "sexism" too. I don't read anything more into it that drunken obnoxious people.
-
That's a huge stretch considering the amount of men that get it. Why don't they say FHRITA when a male is reporting?
-
Ah, right over your head....as per!
-
This reminds me of Obamacare. The Dems wanted to extend benefits to people who are 25yo and living at home, when the Repubs took issue with the concept, the Dems ran around saying that the Repubs hated children.
-
Ok, if we can accept that the numbers of women to men reporters are pretty close, then we have to accept that it's not sexism toward the reporter.
-
I think you meant to say "people", because males get the treatment just as often as females.
-
I don't want to get too involved here because I don't know and care even less about the gaming community. However, anyone who believes that feminism is the fight for "equality for all", is truly naive. As MCC said, the word feminism itself is a gender bias term - that should be the first clue.
-
As a man, I'm offended by these idiots. But, let's face it, it's hooliganism. Sure, it's sexist, but it's not rage inducing sexism.
