  1. Not in ruins as Iraq was from the US bombing. It's still simply terrorism that is aided by the US against the legitimate of Syria. It will go on longer with US assistance to the rebels but the US has no interest in the cost of human lives and so will keep supplying the weapons to maintain some sort of balance. All countries attempt to use the UN for their purposes. But I would suggest that Israel has been stopped short many times by the UNSC which has acted against legitimizing their aggression. Even though it might be difficult, let's all try to keep in mind that the US/Nato/Israel are the proven bad guys of the 21st. century so far. Russia and China are only acting as opposition that hasn't needed to bare their fangs so far. However, as we speak, there is little doubt that their influences are saving lives in foreign countries on which the US has future ambitions.
  2. No, when the US says bad things about a country's leader, it tells us that the US demonizing with the intent on aggression against that country and eventually perhaps war. And it says to that country's leader that he must do everything in his power to obtain the great equalizer for his country's safety. Nuclear weapons of course, what all bullies fear the most. Gone are the days when the US can claim legitimacy and the high road. Since Iraq and the glaring proof that the US is now the nation for all to fear, no other fabrications of the sort you try to hoist on us will do. Not to suggest that Iraq is the only example of outright aggression but just to say that Iraq provided the glaring proof. And speaking specifically of the Ukraine, there is little doubt that the US/Nato was intent on ecncrochment on Russia with it's military and economic assistance of the Ukraine and that left Putin no choice but to ensre the people of the Crimea were represented by Russia in order to protect their interests. Now it's only a question of whether the US/Nato will take their lumps they've received so far and back off. Russia very obviously has no interests in taking the Ukraine and never did!
  3. If Putin wasn't doing what is best for Russia's interests the US wouldn't be demonizing him and hating him so much. The US/Nato's obvious problem is that Putin is tough and very savvy on US tactics that are intended to bring down Russia. It won't happen and all the US/Nato will succeed in doing is dividing the world again into two factions intent on a cold war. Only this time the US has lost a lot of it's credibility and it will be less successful than it was the last time. No one needs to remind that China's economy is about to eclipse that of the US and with Russia aligned with China it's going to make it even more interesting. The US will soon come to it's senses and start to understand that it has wasted a lot of money on useless military might. Even N. Korea is coming to be a force that it won't be able to push around. And Iran is unstoppable with China/Russia on their side.
  4. You mean the Conservatives can't do no wrong. It's the Liberals who can do no wrong. This is no reason for Trudeau to 'not' resign. But if he doesn't then he gets my vote unless the NDP has a better chance of defeating the rabid right.
  5. I know I shouldn't respond to that but I will because it's so ridiculous that it deserves a comment. So how about this? Your gun will be taken away from you at the border if you become the sort of person who is tending to gun violence. They are being watched! Are you thinking about doing that now? Are you threatening violence? Do you own a handgun?
  6. It's got to be abortion on demand in Canada or it's going to be Harper's government's way. And all that is necessary now if for Harper's cronies in gov to be coaxed into the debate. Then next the guns come out and the crazies start hunting down Canadian doctors. They're begging for a fight and this is just Trudeau's way of nipping it in the bud. It's not for Canadians!
  7. For example, here's the other side of the story on what's caused the problems in Ukraine: http://rt.com/news/158908-lavrov-russia-ukraine-nato/ Now does that hurt anybody to at least see the other side? Is there a grain of truth in this story that hasn't been told? Some things are becoming painfully obvious as this situation sits stalemated waiting for the vote to take place. Russia is not invading the Ukraine but is seen to be taking the high road. The world is watching even though the story is being shielded from the eyes of Canadians. And of course, Americans lack the ability to even comprehend something other than the propaganda that's being spoonfed to them.
  8. http://rt.com/news/158832-un-ukraine-helicopter-scandal/ Now the Kiev government has the UN down it's neck. This leaves us with the most obvious question once again. Who are the good guys? The UN or the terrorist upstart Kiev government? Thank dog for RT news telling the story because you probably won't get it anywehere else!
  9. I think that people need to get both sides of a story. If the Russian side had been heard we may have been able to prevent the US war on Iraq that slaughtered hundreds of thousands of INNOCENTS. Not to mention all the other wars of aggression that the US has waged since the fall of the Soviet Union. As we were discussing earlier, Eric Margolis would be invited onto CBC to tell the other side back during the phony Kosovo war of Clinton's making. His comments could have been somewhat responsible for minimizing the US/Nato bombing of the people from 30,000'. In any case, Margolis did ask the question on the hyped up lies of ethnic Albanian mass graves and so it was investigated. Everybody now knows it was just a pack of US lies to justify war. More Eric Margolis' couldn't hurt, I'm sure you will agree. Preventing war is always better than going to war. And just look at how the war with Syria has been avoided by Putin's input with Obama's. The US could be in Syria right now dropping bombs on the good guys? Along with Putin's assistance and the American people being stung too many times by the propagandists, war was avoided. And of course, as we discussed earlier, the main reason why another opinion is not allowed to be expressed on the mainstream media is because of the rabidity of the network owners. In CBC's case, the Harper government exercising it's pro-US control over the CBC. Bad government poisons the media eventually.
  10. No, I didn't say that. I suggested that if we follow the lead of Alberta we will be heading in the same direction as the land of the gun that's south of our border. The Conservative government hasn't achieved that yet but their hearts are in it for sure. Along with messing with the justice system to make sentences stiffer and out of the discretion of judges who are the experts with firsthand knowledge of each individual to be sentenced. It all fits together you see, stiffer sentences, fewer paroles, more hardened criminals, more prisons, more gun violence, more murders, more violence, more victims, and then more handguns to protect oneself from the problems the Conservatives want to create!
  11. All the Conservatives need do is ignore Trudeau and the whole issue by not taking a position. And besides, if the truth is known they're not concerned about killing a fetus as much as they are concerned with maintaining men's power over women. Just ask them! LOL
  12. No, Canada shouldn't have troops there. The downside that is the slippery slope of occupation of another country far outweighs the possible good it can do. We must not contribute to giving the US licence to trod all over the world with it's armed forces on any pretence it chooses is in the name of good. In the real world outside of propaganda, what is good in the eyes of the US, as often as not turns out to be good only for their own country. Harper is making Canada synonymous with the US and it's interventions and aggression throughout the world. That is going to become a real problem in ther future when it possibly comes home with the chickens.
  13. Change the word 'aboriginals' to 'Islamics' in the post for which you just commended me on another thread, and then try it again here. And now I'll ask the question of you, was it a heartfelt commendation or was it sarcasm? And I will just add to that, we can no more blame Christianity for what the US did to Iraq on false pretences than we can blame Islam for the revenge attack on 911.
  14. Thank you, even though it sounded like sarcasm and it started a whole string of sarcasm and nastiness didn't it
  15. It's not always strictly about economics jbg. In any case you are going to have to be consistent with your stand on the Crime separating from the Ukraine. You and me pal, the people's choice needs to be heard and acted upon!
  16. Any time someone groups all people as to race or ethnicity it raises the racism flag. "All" Aboriginals cannot be grouped together as all "Caucasian" can not be grouped together as a race or ethnicity or of having an opinion that is in sync with his respective group. Some aboriginals will side with the Caucasian group and some Caucasians will side with the Aborigninal group. People who are not race conscious and not racist inclined will not try this sort of tactic. Those who find they are guilty of this kind of bad behaviour should just STOP IT! Canadians are better than that!
  17. Propagandists make it their business to appear well informed. Always be cautious of what you accept for the truth and always consider that you are being shielded from one side of the story because you can't be trusted to form the right opinion. It's nearly as easy as leading lemmings over a cliff but with people there are always a few who decide to not jump and instead cause trouble. Don't be one of them!
  18. Tim, How's that line drop calculation goin so far? For our purposes we can consider the wire sizes to be standard, the distance from my house to the steel box thingy that the wires go into is 60', and the distance to the substation is exactly 2 miles to make it less complicated. We can consider that the power factor is unity and the H.V. lines are standard resibential sized. After you accomplish this very elementary exercise correctly I'll have no choice but to resume talking to you as the expert! If you require any help with Ohm's law and other elementary equations you'll need then just let me know. LOL Phhhhhtttttt! That's not me mocking you, that's the sound that's made when you get your wires crossed.
  19. Yup, and US electronic devices sold to other countries are first loaded up with spyware. If Snowden says this is the tip of the iceberg, and he's been proven reliable and honest so far, we have to wonder what he has on the US vis a vis Russia. In my humble opinion, Snowden was always eventually bound for Russia because the Russians turned him. Now he's Vlad's asset to be used at his discretion. Start the screaming denials in 3, 2, 1, .................
  20. Making a mountain out of a molehill. Trudeau is for free choice and Harker is either for nothing or dictating to women what they do with their bodies. Gee, it's almost like Trudeau planned it that way? In any event, Harper will decide and dictate to his members what they will do and say.
  21. Children don't copy car exhaust pipes. Next time you see a group of smokers look closely because chances are one of them will be wearing a 70's style leisure suit with high heel cowboy boots.
  22. Ahhhhh, excellent post and it brings back fond memories. I think that Eric Margolis was one of the very last talking heads to ever give the other POV. I haven't heard of him in years and he may even be dead? If he's not then they surely have put the screws to him and his opinions. In fact, I corresponded with him back then and asked questions of him that I felt weren't adequately covered in the mainstream news. He was always receptive to any questions. But sadly, you're right about him not being listened to back then. People like Janis stein (gag me) seem to have stayed very popular and we even see her on CBC lately, spilling her guts mainly for the Israeli cause and trying to make it appear as something else. Freedom to speak on the media and voice a different view is my schtick. There's no good reason why we shouldn't be hearing both sides and it's most likely the wishes of the controlling interests of the media sources that prevent it. As a sidenote, notice how Neil MacDonald has been pretty well isolated away from the controversial stuff? You probably know that he was the Israeli correspondent for CBC for years and he started to tell the truth just the way he was seeing it. Sad really.
  23. Any comments that I deem racist will be reported as such. I think that some people have already stepped too far over the line. The administrator of this forum may not agree with me and neglect to say so but that isn't going to influence my decision to continue to report it for what it is. And that's not to suggest any prior experience I've had with this forum's administration.
  24. You shouldn't. He's trying to say that even a small amount such as 10% wind or solar would not have an impact on the amount of fossil fuel burnt to produce power. That's not even worth arguing because it's patently false. For every kwh of power produced by green sources, it's kwh of power that isn't produced by fossil fuels. Tim has already been soundly defeated in his technical argument and so now he's trying to take it to an economic argument. That won't work either because it's an attitudinal problem with Tim's reasoning. ie. He's as much trying to tell us that power generation can't be throttled back at times when solar or wind are supplying power to the grid. It's as if a coalfired generator can't idle back to half speed and use less energy, hence pollute less. Green sources of energy are entirely appropriate from an economics standpoint. The reason they are is because we are able to factor in the damage being done to the environment if the new technology of green is neglected. However, if one doesn't believe in climate change and anthropogenic global warming, none of the truth is going to make sense to them. If they could be so honest as to admit they don't believe then we could start to take their arguments seriously and concede some of their points, based on their dinosaur approach alone. They opposed emission control devices on cars too! Get behind a collector car of the 50's and 60's and it brings home the facts in one breathe of thick air!
  25. http://rt.com/usa/158608-nsa-greenwald-un-snowden/ A commentary from RT news on what's to come in his soon to be released book. A rare chance of some real transparency on US foreign relations and world politics. And the interesting thing about it is that the American people are nearly completely onside with Snowden's actions in exposing it all. Also, a rare chance to feed them some politics on issues that the media has been careful to not expose them to and to which they are going to be very receptive. Well timed considering that the Ukraine and the US/Nato position on that issue is so 'in the news'! Quote from that article:
