Yes bush_cheney, it appears that you do need to state it because nobody is aware of any questions that haven't been answered. I think that it's useless to continue to pursue this thread until somebody actually states clearly what they are on about. As for requestiong more security, be specific, because all evidence is showing that the Republicans were intent on reducing the costs of security and hence wouldn't be in favour of more!

Argus Please! I've stated my claim that Alberta is the highest province in incest rates. I've had researched it and found a link that said just that! And I've already told you that I can't post links here for some reason. Would you like to help me discover why I can't? When I can post links I'll give you the one I found. Until then I would just respectfully request that you stop harassing me. Thanks! -
Argus, Canada is a socially responsible capitalist country and unlike the US we look after our people. We don't choose to knowingly 'kill' people when we make what we believe are responsible choices. You'll have to go to the US to find that kind of attitude you are accusing us of having. There, they are still dying of curable diseases and treatable injuries for want of access to their health care system!

Argus, Why won't you state your position? Do you not believe in anthropogenic climate change? If you can't accept that wind and soar have become viable options then it would make it easier to debate you if we knew what motivates you. Sometimes, in order to be good Canadians we must depart from the US political right dogma that insists that economics always comes first. In the 21st. century that's not always the case and a look at all the thousands of wind energy systems installed throughout the world should cause you to not continue to doubt!

ARgus, Respectfully, you have my answer and if you choose to not accept it then the onus is on you to show evidence that says otherwise. And now I think I'll just leave it with you because I detect anger in your posts as opposed to a will to learn something and discuss it calmly. -

Argus, If you doubt that Alberta is highest in incest in Canada then show otherwise. I don't really have a horse in the race other than to speculate on my findings. Your evidence to the contrary would be worth evaluating. If you don't accept that Alberta is extreme right politically then perhaps you can accept that Alberta is 'more' right politically than other provinces. And again, if you don't accept that then show evidence to say otherwise. -

On Guard for Thee, Please don't try to excuse Canada for the first war against Iraq. At this late date, and because we now know the real reason for the second Iraq war, it's painfully obvious that the reason was the same. Oil! If any of the lies weren't obvious enough to form proof at the time, they certainly are now after another war against Iraq. Incubator baby lies, April Glaspie's greenlight to Saddam to invade Kuwait, Russian civilian satellite proof of no tanks and troop buildup along the Saudi border, and much more. Canada was duped into that war by the US. We bear that guilt as a country and it's time to stop lying to ourselves about it. Our refulsal (Chretien's) to be duped again is only partial vindicating. -

I googled it and I found that Alberta has the highest rate of incest of all the provinces. Please try it too because I can't post links for some reason. And I equate incest with hillbillies for good reason. In the US it's Alabama I believe. I don't know if Alberta is similar to Alabama in any way other than both have rather extreme right political views on the whole. -
The US definitely has a handgun problem with too many available to all sorts of people. Criminals have them but there are also lots of other people carrying them and that results in shootings. Their statistics can't be wrong. In my opinion it's an indication of cowardice when people get into a verbal spat and somebody is carrying a gun. The gun comes out and somebody ends up shot dead. Not to mention guns going off in children's faces because they're left lying around for children to pick up and play with. But Shady has a bit of a point on guns not being the whole problem. A lot of the problem is an attitudinal problem with Americans. It's impossible for them to take killing people in foreign lands so lightly and not let that attitude seep into domestic and civilian life. Americans have largely dehumanized their victims over there and it's carried over to 'over here'. Gooks, ragheads, Muslims, choose your war and there will be a derogatory term coined for the victim's people, as well as a proclamation that their leader is 'insane'. We Canadians need only listen to their rhetoric as the pro-gun Americans support the ongoing slaughter by guns. Where are their comments voicing concern for the little children who needlessly die in their schools? Their immediate response is to hold a NRA rally in the town where the children died. That's not Canada and we must never let it become that.

overthere, It's just that I discovered that Alberta is the incest capital of Canada and that sounds hillbilly to me. As to the topic: Trudeau has simply proclaimed that he supports a woman's right to choose. What could be more Canadian than that? It's our brand of capitalism with a social responsibility that is lacking south of the border. WE should all be trying our best to keep that sort of political nonsense out of Canada. -
Trey Gowdy stated that the question he wanted to ask Hillary Clinton was, what was the US doing there in Benghazi when all other countries had already left. But it turns out that he wasn't paying attention because Hillary had already answered the question. Can anybody tell us what it is that the Republicans are complaining about? It just seems that there is nothing really specific. Is there anything that all the investigations haven't answered yet? Or is it really just trying to make an issue out of nothing?

RT is reporting that both Donetsk and Lugansk regions have voted about 90% in favour of self rule in their referendum. They also report a 75% turnout in both regions. I haven't been able to find any US or EU reporting on the vote results yet. It could be because they are refusing to recognize the referendum. Legal or illegal, it is a statement for the world on just what is going on in the Ukraine and with US/Nato expansion plans.

You're right bleeding heart. The only redeeming factor with drone strikes is that they kill slightly more discriminately. It could be cruise missiles into China's embassy or one into an aspirin factory. Or even huge bombs destroying Iraqi air raid shelters full of women and children?

US super power? Baloney. It's a defanged super power that only stands up to small countries that don't have the ability to strike back. N.Korea isn't one of them apparently. And Iran isn't either because it's got it's own socalled super powers with nukes. Thank dog Russia is back and China is on the rise! Russia and China should invade countries when...... blah, blah, blah, -

Right on Peter F, and we aren't interested in remaking Canada into another land of the gun where they shoot doctors who help women. -
Smallc, We're really supposed to still believe the Russians are coming? Really? Since the fall of the Soviet Union it's been the US a comin in over a dozen wars while Russia tried to sort out their internal problems. Revise that for us! idea: we bombed the people from 30,000' feet to save them and then they went and deliberately stood under our bombs anyway!

Jbg, I'm so happy to hear that you no longer support US wars of aggression. The why doesn't matter to me and I couldn't understans what you were trying to say anyway? Something about your realization that the US can't remake foreign lands? Are you now of the opinion that Clinton's 99 Kosovo adventure was wrong too? All the righties hated it at the time because they don't support the other party's wars. -
Argus, Some of us who are concerned about the environment think that it completely trumps financial necessities. We also are of the opinion that we can work to improve the environmental catastrophe that is pending and also survive economically. Don't you believe in anthropogenic caused climate change and global warming? I understand if you don't because there are still a few who won't accept the facts that mainstream science has presented. If you're not angry then maybe we could find a common ground on the issue?

ASIP, Regardless of the number of people voting in the referendum and regardless of whether or not you are right about the per centage, it does set the bar for the US/Nato to prove otherwise. That's important to responsible and peace loving parties who care about the wishes of the people involved. Ya think that includes the US/Nato or is their motive something entirely different. The Crimea referendum set the bar in the Crimea and the US/Nato has pretty well run out of talking points on that one haven't they.

Jbg, your post #508. Please stop the personal attacks against me. Not referring to me by name is not fooling anybody. Thanks.

No Argus, I didn't say that only hillbillies question the need for oversight. You're confused about that. But I did say that the province with the most hillbillies would be the province that wouldn't provide abortion clinics. Then I found out that wasn't completely true because I think that Alberta still has a few. The rabid right is most likely frothing at the mouth on fixing that issue as we speak! -
Both illegal govs. Yanukovich was democratically elected and is still the boss until the people vote in a new gov. US/Nato apologists don't get it yet.
-
Early results of the referendum in Donetsk are saying the people have voted 89.7% in favour of independence from Kiev. Should the US/Nato allow that or should they start bombing in order to help the people to get it right?
-
Yeah, it was March 99 and they didn't send in the ground troops, they bombed from 30,000'. And telling others that I'm hard to reason with is a person attack against me. Maybe we should let other form their opinions of people rather than you getting involved in leading them by the nose.
