  1. You need to just understand that I myself don't hook in to branding all Muslims with the same iron. In most instances when the issue of Muslim bad behaviour is brought up, that's the intent. As for a comparison with Jews or Israel, we are able to brand the country, not the individuals. When it's called for we can just as easily brand a country that is nearly exclusively Muslim. Does that help you to understand the difference?
  2. I would view JT's actions as being proactive. Now is a good time to get the Conservatives to spill their guts on their dishonest intentions. If they think they have a winning hand then they should put up or just continue to shut up. We aren't interested in a situation similar to south of our border where doctors are getting shot, women are threatened with capital punishment for having an abortion, or the rabid right is running around trying to destroy the lives of women for exercising their free choice.
  3. jbg, Once again I'm going to have to ask you to not post anything that is quoting me when you have altered it in any way. I consider it a violation of the rules and I will put it to the test if you do it again. Thanks.
  4. Of course I realize that Canada is a part of Nato. What seems to stump you people is that I don't try to escape the guilt for which my country is responsible. I don't provide cites but one example would be that Iran is being saved from US bombing because of the US failure to get it's ambitions passed through the UNSC. Russia and China of course and that's why they are the good guys. But sometimes, as with Kosovo, the US tries to get it's ambitions passed through the UNSC and fails. Then it just relies on Nato support and we all know that Nato gives the US approval on everything they ask for. Why, one would think that Nato is the US! LOL
  5. This doesn't pass the smell test of everyone being concerned about the child as much as it smells like hate for aboriginal people. Why bother getting involved when it's so easy to stay out and take the high road?
  6. http://rt.com/business/160068-china-russia-gas-deal/ The question is, will a visa ban on some Russians change Putin's (read Russia here) mind and make him be nice? Will he (Russia( be able to keep up the supply of nat gas to the Ukraine and Europe after making this huge commitment to China? One thing we are sure of, because we are told by the Americans, is that Russia is going to suffer more economically because of it's outright gaul of protecting it's interests in the Crimea!
  7. Don't be fooled; some of them think that the birth control pill equals abortion. They just don't state their beliefs in so many words. It's a credibility issue with them on which we can capitalize. That is, if one bothers to take the time to even listen to their claptrap hate rhetoric.
  8. What are you suggesting Shady? That birth control is abortion? And btw, I think it's a little over the top for you to refer to 'On Guard for Thee' by using the derogatory phrase of 'those of your ilk'. You will be well advised to not try that with me thank you very much! We'll not get down to the personal level again my friend! I for one won't tolerate it.
  9. Never underestimate the cleverness of the American racist. They devote their entire lives to their cause and rise above being stupid. Hence, we try to catch them in their concealment of the truth of their convictions but are seldom successful. Suffice to say that they can't hide their evil intentions forever when they never side with the side of right but instead remain silent when we ask for their condemnation of racism. Know them by that trait alone.
  10. Latest devolopments, at least on the CBC which is usually way above the US media on being correct, is that the Ukraine conflict is now a dead issue. They state that there is really no issue for the US/Nato to further pursue the fact that the Crimea is Russia's and no position that would dispute that can be credible. On the rest of the Ukraine, the CBC has suggested that it's settled issue for Russia, the Ukraine, and the US/Nato. Thatmeans that all sides are going to go away happy. However, they don't hesitate to say that they see it as a victory for the US/Nato. One has to wonder what constitutes a 'victory'? I think it's the suggestion that Russia was attempting to take the Ukraine into it's fold but to actually suggest that would be too embarrassing a stretch for the CBC. In my humble opinion the victory will be seen as the US/Nato being successful in stopping Russia's attempt to take the Ukraine. But to state that at this late date would be to sound much too ridiculous to be in harmony with the real facts. If the US/Nato could claim any victory it would be in demonizing Russia to the rest of the world. But in fact, it's not worked that way and Russia has reacted by bringing about huge punishments on those that were the aggressors all along. Russia has just recently awarded a huge contract to China over supply of it's oil resources. The US/Nato has only hastened the inevitable process of choosing sides in the new cold war. The US can't be optimistic over the possible outcomes of that! It's not a time to dick around with China and it's not Russia or China that started the sabre rattling first!
  11. Rue, #1, of course they deny it. And you obviously believe the US/Nato. I don't. #2 Putin didn't invade the Crimea. The referendum was held and it was bloodless. The people made their choice. Yes, of course Russia (stop using the word Putin, it's only an attempt to demonize another leader of another victim country) had to keep the Ukraine and the US/Nato understood that very well. The US/Nato were supporting a completely untenable position for Russia. It differs from the US position on nuclear weapons in Cuba only inasmuch as Crimea was established as a Russian naval base while Cuba was not. Widen your horizons and you will be able to widen your perspective to understand something other than US propaganda. #3 I make no claims about Saddam that aren't completely true. If you don't understand that Iraq had become a modern prosperous nation with freedom of religious choice and equal rights for women then find an encyclopedia that dates back before US bombing of Iraq. That will be the only surviving sourse of the truth. And don't make a fool of yourself comparing Saudi or any of the other evil and corrupt monarchies. It's simply a non-starter for informed people who know better. #4 Saddam used gas warfare against Iran and vice versa. It's quite likely the gas was supplied by their US allies. Saddam most likely didn't use gas at Halabja. Read up on Stephen Pelletiere's analysis of that and then bet back to me on it. You can make your choice on what to believe but be aware of the pitfalls of taking either a pro or con position on that issue. Besies getting the Bush's middle names wrong you are getting everything else wrong. Bush Sr. didn't tell Bush jr. to invade Iraq. However, at least you are able to connect the two wars against Iraq and that's all I'm interested in getting out of you for now. And aside from your lengthy spiel on WMD's, you have also admitted that the term is a sham intended to demonize weapons used by small entities who are incapable of employing the use of real WMD's. #5. Russia and China making accusations doesn't excuse the US of making the false accusations. But in any case your objections are beside the point because of your admission of guilt already. The entire world isn't involved in double speak. Where did you get that idea? Just because you admit that the US is involved doesn't mean you can defend your country's actions by trying to include the rest of the world. At least not with me you can't and get away with it.
  12. As I said, in America. And in that country they still kill people for murdering a person.
  13. The real problem is funding and that's what needs to be addressed. User fees are unpopular and so consequently there will be an effort by the Harper government to make it obvious that's what's needed. It's not! It's only when it's put to the people in that form that it will be rejected as more unfair taxation. And that's the goal of all conservative governments. Hence, little money spent on the obvious need to maintain the infrastructure. Liken it to funding for our health care system. There's no doubt that the conservatives would like to destroy it. In order to do that the Harper gov needs to continually keep funding down to a minimum so as to damage the system to the point at which the people begin to question it's value. There are reasonable answers for the problem. We Canadians should get involved in discussing such and not be tricked into thinking like an American when it comes to these sort of questions.
  14. Yes, he is the police commissioner! Choose your side. You can be for racism or you can oppose it in all it's ugly forms. There are only two sides.
  15. In America, a woman needs to see a doctor and then wait three days before proceeding with her abortion. If she doesn't then she could be found guilty of murder and be executed for that crime. It's my opinion that no American has the credibility it requires to take part in a discussion on Canada's position on abortion. America has departed much too far from understanding human needs and reality.
  16. It's my understanding that airplanes have been referred to as WMD's. Can it ever become so patently obvious that weapons employed against the US that prove effective are only conveniently termed WMD's. And now we need to ask ourselves why? Is anyone under the illusion that nuclear weapons used on Iran would be termed as WMD's? And now American friends, what's wrong with this picture?
  17. No two super powers made any agreements on what the Ukraine could do with their own foreign policy. Nobody ever suggested that. What I'm suggesting is that the US/Nato was in the Ukraine causing the unrest for the express reason of encroaching further on Russia's borders. And so consequently, the people of the Crimea were allowed to express their free choice through a referendum. There was obviously never a need for them to even do that unless there was the threat of US/Nato aggression. It presented a problem for Russia for that reason alone. It didn't take a war, it was a bloodless expression of the people's resolve and it was never in doubt wich side they would choose. Now it's settled and there is little chance that the US/Nato is going to have the upper hand morally to change that. It's lost to Russia strictly because it's the people's free choice. Nothing more. I completely disagree with your idea that Saddam was the complete scum of the earth. In fact, I now know that he was on the side of right and the US was on the side of wrong. Saddam acted against factions within his country who were intent on power. The same factions that the US and it's propaganda victimized people would condemn. It's the very nature of some Arab ME countries that are in turmoil because of a power struggle. Syria. When the US doesn't meddle in the said country's internal affairs then peace is maintained, as Saddam had indeed succeeded in doing for the large part. Indeed, Saddam had succeeded in making his country the most prosperous and modern country of the ME Arab countries. All religious persuasions were tolerated if they acted peacefully. Women were acknowledged as equals and worked alongside of men in pre-US-war Iraq. I have little doubt that you would support a war with North Korea. I only have to question your humanitarian motives because your motives have been made visible to all through your comments on Iraq. On gassing people. Even if you are unable to rise above the demonization of some country's leaders because of their use or supposed use of gas, I can. I understand fully that the term WMD was only coined by the US for purposes of demonizing leaders in countries that didn't have access to the real WMD's. Those weapons being weapons that are truly capable of "MASS DESTRUCTION". A partial list of such would include, Nuclear weapons, huge US bombs of the type that were dropped on Iraq's people, Fuel/Air weapons, cluster bombs, etc. To illustrate my point, you need only look for mass destruction throughout the world today. Where has a gas attack caused such destruction or even such massive loss of human life? Where do the smoking ruins of US bombing from 30,000' provide such evidence? Now we're going to have to deal with reality and hopefully you won't start to accuse me of supporting the killing of people with WMD's. The only party that stands guilty of doing that in this 21st. century is the US.
  18. It's probable smart for any politician in Canada to just be quiet about being a Christian until challenged on it. Then he's wise to pretend to be a Chritian. To me it's pretty obvious that Justin Trudeau is far too intelligent to truly believe in sky fairies and so he needs to fake it. Christians are easily convinced and the rest of us surely won't hold it against him.
  19. The only reason Canada is involved in Afghanistan is because Harper feels he needs to support the US's wars. Canada never did have any other reason even though we were told some time way back that it was so the little girls could go to school. Now, most of the little girls are dead because of the US led war and the country is about to revert back to Taliban rule. When the Iraq war proved to us that it was all about US aggression in the ME, Canada should have pulled out and took it's licks the US would have handed out. It would have sped up our trade relations with other countries and provided the diversity that makes us more immune to blackmail attempts by the US.
  20. I'm not an apologist for Putin because that's not necessary. I side with Putin on the side of right. Because of the US going backon it's word to not encroach further on Russia, Putin understood that he needed to give the people of the Crimea their free choice of aligning with Russia. Had there been no interference by the US/Nato in the Ukriane's politics then the people of the Ukriane would have decided by free and fair election to keep or replace it's democratically elected government. No action would ever have been necessary to take in the Crimea. As it's patently obvious that no action is needed in the rest of the Ukraine to stop Russia. Russia doesn't need to be stopped from anything! If protesters were opposed to the Iraq war, the obvious conclusion I would form from that is that they knew that the other side was the side of right. In retrospect there is little doubt that was true. If you can't understand people taking the side of right against their own government then that's your problem to deal with. You are dead right that I sided with Iraq right from the beginning of the phony first Gulf war because I detected the lies that were being sold to the people by the ilk of Hill and Knowlton. And I have gained what I consider complete vincication because both wars were obviously for the same false reasons. You need to rethink your position on the Iraq wars, if only for the benefit of your own conscience.
  21. Maybe first of all we should consider who our possible future enemies will be. If it's going to be hand to hand combat with China then we should just make peace with them and give up. Likewise the US. If it's going to be a war of minds with the Chinese then we should recruit only super intelligent men and women because we may have a ghost of a chance in fighting back. As would the US maybe? More likely, China is in the process of making fighting wars a thing of the past. They know that the US pulling the nuclear trigger is all they will ever have to worry about. And that's of very minor concern as bully countries don't do nuclear war with nuclear armed opponents.
  22. What is it that keeps this nonsense alive? Could it be that it's on September 11th. and that resonates with the American lemmings who are pushing it along until it's leterally clattering along down the tracks and falling off the rails in pieces?
  23. First of all I'm going to have to ask you to not add to what I say and then quote it as mine. Thanks. I'll take Quebec as an example where there wasn't enough choice to separate voiced by the people. Had it been anything near the solidarity shown by the people of the Crimea then it would have undoubtedly happened. Would Canada send in the military to stop the people from exercising their rights? Probably not. When it's as clear cut as it was with the Crimean peninsula it's really quite pointless. This fact alone should convince the US/Nato to back off of their support of the illegitimate Ukraine government in it's quest to infringe further on Russia. There's really no other reason for this trouble is there.
  24. I think the biggest problem is that those who oppose green energy for reasons pertaining to their own wallets are able to convince people such as those on this forum who are like Tim and just don't understand how it all works. And the problem is just compounded when they are so thoroughly propagandized into not accepting the truths. They just don't want to know. Well, I do know because it's my area of expertise and I'm here to explain it. Those who maintain that 10% redundancy is necessary with solar/wind just don't understand that it's already necessary. Those that can't understand that every KWH of power produced by green sources doesn't count in replacing fossil fuel based energy are just plain ignorant of the math involved. So let's have at it then. And Tim, if you want in then don't start parroting old arguments in which you have already been defeated.
  25. Maybe we should also think a bit of the US relatively fundamentalist Christian attitudes that are propelling the problems in the world today with Muslims. After all, if there is a war of religions going on then it's only because of US presence and meddling in the ME. Some of the US's own politicians haven't been shy in stating it in clear terms either. Ron Paul understands that it's all about revenge and isn't afraid to state it. The rest of the world's majority of people are even more strongly convinced of that truth.
