  1. Your asking whether a country like Philippines should be added to the list, proves that you don't understand the reason why those 7 countries are on the list.
  2. It doesn't take much for the thin veneer to fall away. Then its time to break out the armbands, boys.
  3. At first glance this graph appears to be `weighted``incorrectly. Assume that the democrat and republican bars cancel out, since they cover about the same area but in reverse. If they were compared exclusively the ``All`` would be at 50%. Independents are tilted towards embarrassed, hence the ``All`` essentially looks like the independent data. But the number of independents must be quite small compared to the total of Democrats and Republicans. IE Fake data.
  4. I always suspected that terror groups like ISIS are getting people to join them who are desperate, people who feel they have no future. Criminals certainly fall into that category.
  5. Or he was just speaking figuratively, using colourful language. But it's not important enough to carry on discussing. There must be an important problem to discuss about Trump out there, somewhere.
  6. It's great that we have you here, because you are a muslim female living in a middle eastern country. You give a voice to normal, moderate muslims who have moved beyond the most dogmatic application of Islam. Your mission (should you choose to accept it...) is to provide perspective on how Islam can be integrated into the western world.
  7. Someone said "Why aren't the Swedes reporting terror related crimes in their country? Because, they are become Jihadists. How Sweden became an exporter of jihad Swedish leftists are traveling to Syria in large numbers, to help ISIS.
  8. Aside from the inconvenience of not eating sushi for a few days, Japanese are fine. No one died from radiation exposure. Predictions for future deaths caused by cancer induction are in the range of a few hundred. This number would be arrived at by considering the population, radiation dose and corresponding increase in risk of cancer. Even then, not all cancers are fatal. A number as low as this shows how safe nuclear power is. Even in a serious accident, immediate deaths are low and the long term impact is smaller than the number at risk of death from living near coal fired thermal generators. In some cases, not even that near. It demonstrates that nuclear power is safe as well as clean. It is the only viable option to provide reliable, high levels of power with low environmental impact.
  9. You rats are funny. Meanwhile the admins are watching. "You see, Charles, it's always the same pattern every time..."
  10. Without a US-backed NATO, Russians will piss you.
  11. I'll point out a motion for you.
  12. I didn't say Quran. I try to be careful in my words. It was the "supplications" (means prayers) that were given. The Mosque apologized, but only after they were found out. http://www.masjidtoronto.com/masjid-toronto-condemns-all-forms-of-hate/ Was it only one guy doing this, or did they all know? It's only words of course. But this topic is about free speech vs hate speech, started by a government motion to silence condemnation of certain barbaric cultural practices. Not people praying privately and minding their own business. For example people may come to Canada from a country where women are not allowed to go to school, are forced into marriage while still children. Even forced to be circumcised. Those are what I would call barbaric practices. It is a culture that should not be allowed in Canada, and has to be eliminated.
  13. This is not a court of law...
  14. I see. Perhaps you prefer a better country, like Russia then?
  15. Yup. Reminds me of one time when I was a kid, had an argument with another kid who had a baseball bat. I had a big rock. The kid said, "put down your rock, and I'll put down my bat". So I did. And then...
  16. There is no emoticon to describe how I feel right now...
  17. True, it makes little sense the way they implemented it. Then you get the mysterious message "This is an experiment and might change in the future". My guess we are being used as lab rats for somebodies research paper. By the way, who the hell firebombed me with reputation points since I entered the thread? A few minutes ago I had like 7, now I have 21. That's strange because I thought you can only give out a few points per day. Maybe the admin did it... see what happens to the lab rat when you give it lots of treats...
  18. I dish em out to anyone who makes me laugh. Sometimes I give a minus... also for laughs!
  19. I get the World Nuclear News Weekly. Today it said the latest robot which had a geiger counter on it got stuck when the treads were caught on a section of pipe. The device was disconnected and left inside the pipe. This was a mechanical problem. However it had not yet reached the area they wanted it to go, where the dose rate is very high. These devices are made with radiation hardened circuitry and electromechanical parts, like relays etc. as much as possible. They are designed to resist ionizing radiation. There's a whole squad of nuclear physicists and engineers working day and night at the facility. They also don't intend to die from being there.
  20. Nice sarcasm, glad to see you're feeling better!
  21. Sorry, not the whole story. The article you linked closes with - "Shortly after New Year's Eve 2015, rumors of alleged sexual assaults by large groups of men began to circulate on social media but attracted little attention in the German press and from officials. It was only half a year later that the full extent of the situation became known, with a leaked police report suggesting that there were over 1,200 women assaulted by more than 2,000 men in a number of cities." Let the excuses for barbaric cultural practices now ensue...
  22. I think the laws we have are already broad enough to cover any serious situation re: hate speech. Whether such laws are right or needed at all is another topic. But to me the thing that comes out of this story is what these people are preaching to their congregation. This sort of hateful condemnation and call for death to infidels, esp. Jews, is disturbing and yet it seems to be an inherent part of the islamic text and daily prayer. You have a section of the population praying daily for the death of Jews and Christians, beginning as young children. It doesn't take a behavioural psychologist to explain the most likely outcome. I expect this is happening in mosques everywhere, more common than not. These people need to undergo a big, big culture change. There needs to be an inquiry.
  23. You mean like they did in Soviet Russia?
  24. There's lots of old, stupid books. Important question is who believes in them and how far do they go.
  25. Yes, you nailed it. There are numerous dose rate "maps" of the region around the reactor and the numbers I see are higher than what we call normal, but far from life threatening. Authorities are now primarily concerned with stabilizing the reactor site.
