  1. The problem is companies still encourage retirement at 65 and when those people do retire at 65 it's because they can no longer work physically and mentally.
  2. So really, the majority are living to 85 with some living longer. And you have a problem with seniors collecting about 500 a month? And mostly they aren't living into their 90s and 100's.
  3. Do you have stats to indicate the longevity in Canada?
  4. Can you state your point here? Think of me as the LCD. I don't have a problem with that.
  5. A great post CC. I wrote a long reply but it got lost when I posted it. I don't feel like retyping it. But that was an awesome post. I will summarize that my mom was able to collect at 65 after raising 8 children and working full-time in her later years. She was ready to retire and deserved to qualify for the OAS which she enjoyed for her last 15 years in retirement. And she contributed to adding productive folks to our society and future grandchildren.
  6. Our PM is being addressed as 'Junior' in a derogatory manner. Why would that be permissable?
  7. Question: if someone addressed our PM as 'Junior', would they take offense? The answer is 'Yes' as you can see by the responses to this thread. What is there to argue about? This term should simply not be used. Plain and simple.
  8. You are making a presumption that folks only want to complain about the poster using the term Jr. That's not true. People get offended because our PM is being addressed as Junior in a derogatory manner. That's it, plain and simple.
  9. e This explains your adoration of Anne Murray.
  10. Are you sure you're not talking about a brothel instead of a restaurant? This is quite the spin.
  11. Yea. Tits for tips. We are a progressive society for our young women.
  12. WTF is your problem? Of course they provide coverage. You are a tiresome mosquito that hides behind your anonymous signin.
  13. Hillary is on her way to the Democratic nomination. No denying this after tonight's results.
  14. I think that perhaps you are copping out on a direct response to this thread.
  15. A BC Server actually took her case to court and won: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/restaurant-dress-codes-open-to-sexual-discrimination-complaints-1.3012522
  16. Hooters shouldn't get an exemption. And if a server ever took them to court over this, they would probably win. (at least in Ontario)
  17. No, because it is directing women that they HAVE to dress in a sexualized outfit which is discriminating because male servers don't have to dress like that.
  18. Male servers at a restaurant in Ottawa wanted to get a test of the workplace discrimination that women face so they dressed in heels and short dresses. Some of their comments: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/workplace-sexual-discrimination-men-heels-union-613-1.3483305 http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/union-local-613-women-dress-code-protest-1.3481576
  19. You are clearly missing the point.
  20. A petition has been started to urge the Manitoba Human Rights Commission to also take a stand on sexualized dress codes in the workplace. This could have a ripple effect across Canada. And it's about time. What I don't understand is why anyone would not want to be on board to ensure that women deserve to have a work environment that's free from sexual advances, discrimination and sexist dress codes. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/sexualized-dress-codes-1.3481836
  21. Strip clubs are difficult to open mainly because of zoning bylaws (in other words, citizens don't want them). http://www.metronews.ca/news/saskatoon/2013/12/03/industry-members-say-strip-club-bylaw-bad-for-business.html http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/strip-club-denied-regina-council-gets-standing-ovation-1.2931466 http://www.whistlerquestion.com/news/local-news/whistler-council-votes-to-ban-exotic-dancing-1.1290373
  22. It's not thread drift. However, I'm on my iPhone. Not easy to paste links. I will certainly do shortly. This wasn't meant to be a pissing contest.
  23. Really? One article? There are many municipalities who have rejected these licenses. Just google them.
