Do you really believe that a democratic government should get up and tell its citizens to prepare for death because stopping the attacks would be "too messy"? If you look at the numbers, there are no civilians being killed in Israel. They are all soldiers.

We need different approaches. I'm just suggesting something other than what is going on because it is obviously not working.

You are right. However, it did happen. It's very tragic that these teenagers were massacred. And it goes on and on and on. Netanyahu has the defence capabilities to show some leadership and end this. He can take the high road, much as most male aggressive leaders would not bow down to this kind of behaviour.

I am pretty sure that Hamas won't. Hence, the 'high road'. Netanyahu has the defence capabilities to do so.

Let's have a look at successfully defending yourself (with the iron dome): 800 Palestinians have lost their lives (most were families/innocent civilians). 36 Israels (34 were soldiers) lost their lives. Again, I think that Netanyahu can take a stand and rise above this bloodshed and do the right thing to stop innocent civilians from being killed.

No one here is supportive of the Hamas terrorist group. What some of us do find incredulous, is the bombing and killing of innocent Palestinian civilians, especially when you compare that to the very very low # of casualties in Israel. Perhaps Israel should take the high road and spare the lives of these families. Israel has their defense system (thanks to the U.S.) and Hamas knows it. The more Palestinians that get massacred, the more the violence and recruitment of terrorists will continue. Not all civilians support Hamas and for some reason, the majority of posters here think they do.

I believe that is what OGFT was saying and has been saying all alone, as many of us were saying. Why would a terrorist group admit to such an incredibly stupid mistake.

Really? And you must have spent your entire lifetime, boots on the ground traveling the world with the "facts" that you throw out here on this forum. There is a thing called the 'internet' where we can now do research. Maybe you have heard of it.

I was pointing out your ignorance of the history of women in Afghanistan. Of course, their literacy rate is terrible. I was certainly not arguing against that. But as I mentioned earlier, Afghanistan at one time had a very liberal attitude towards women and I don't think I need to repeat my cite that I mentioned above.

If I was thinking of Iraq or Iran I would have said so. Here is a bit of history on women and girls in Afghanistan: "Prior to the Soviet occupation and Taliban takeover, Afghanistan was a relatively liberal country with a progressive outlook on women’s rights. Afghan women comprised 50% of government workers, 70% of schoolteachers, and 40% of doctors in Kabul. However, the effects of war and the Taliban regime quickly effaced the rights of women in public life and relegated them solely to the domestic domain." And this is what I was referring to in my earlier post. Many organizations are at working helping to improve and educate the lives of women in Afghanistan. It's a shame to hear comments thrown about speaking about these women as was posted earlier. I guess I messed up that response. I was on my iphone! I was going to say: Your post reflects your lack of research and understanding of the women of Afghanistan. Many, many women in Afghanistan were educated, were able to practice their profession until the Taliban. Your comments are degrading towards the women in Afghanistan. Can you possibly think for just a minute about the women who were educated in Afghanistan until they were banned from their profession. They were not and are not illiterate and unsophisticated. Your comments disgust me and many women who you know nothing about.
