  1. Hmmm, I'm not surprised she said that. If I had 6 children to protect, I'd say the same thing!
  2. Another issue with this is that this company employs (well, not any longer) hundreds of people in the Likely area. These employees were hesitant to blow the whistle on their employer for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, when everyone turns a blind eye, and this happens, it affects thousands of people both in the fishing and tourism industry. And not to mention property values in that area.
  3. Test results should be back tomorrow, the initial ones anyway. It could have a major impact on the salmon heading this way for their spawning. They travel directly through that area.
  4. Oh Shady, don't pretend to be so naive.
  5. Bennett is lying. There was a breach back in May of this year. He was well aware of it and did not enforce further inspections to test the integrity of the dam. A former employee (foreman) went on record to confirm he saw the breach and so did Bennett. All they did was lower the water level. Bennett is well aware of the history of this company. Like I say, they are morally corrupt.
  6. And you know this because you were over there chatting with them?
  7. And we should trust the govt to enforce these regulations? Meanwhile, a potentially catastrophic event is happening right now in BC, affecting the fishing industry, tourism industry and a way of life for many people in that region. Sure, we should trust our politicians and resource companies because it's in their best interest to not let this happen.
  8. It is, is it? Imperial Mines was given 5 government warnings in the last few years: "The ministry gave the company its latest of five warnings in May, this time for exceeding the permitted height of wastewater within its tailings pond. Brian Olding, the environmental consultant who carried out the 2009 assessment for the company and local First Nations groups, says the pond levels were already getting too high five years ago. It means the water is rising, so you have to build the walls of the tailings lagoon higher as you go," Olding said." I just don't understand why the government didn't shut them down. Bennett and this mining company are morally corrupt. And of course, we keep being told that an oil leak from one of those double hulled tankers won't happen either if Northern Gateway ever happens. Sure, it won't.
  9. Honestly, are we talking about Canada and Mexico?
  10. They knew: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/aug/02/tunnels-hamas-israel-struggle-gaza-war
  11. Israel knew what was going on. There were political and international reasons they did not do anything. They were not blind to these tunnels.
  12. I don't think Obama apologizing has been discussed.
  13. Yes, that is absolutely true. I see it happening in my industry. I encourage my boss to hire more women in the IT industry. Funny enough, he is hiring older women.
  14. Heh, that's funny. Good for him. Maybe he had some groupies just like Plant! Hey, I could have easily been a groupie of Plant!
  15. Perhaps you should use that saying in the proper context.
  16. Oh man, that's tough. I love all their tunes. My favourite is 'whole lotta love', then I think Kashmir and 'Heartbreaker'. However, the last two songs could change next week. But for sure, my all time fav is 'whole lotta love'.
  17. Yea, I saw that post. I chose to ignore it.
  18. Ahh, Prince, the artist formerly known as Prince! Yes, he would be incredible to see. I have not seen him live.
  19. I hope this wasn't thread drift. I can start another thread on this one if anyone thinks it is thread drift.
  20. Was Obama wrong to publicly apologize for their brutal interrogation tactics after the Sept 11 attack? I don't think so, yet others condemn his apologies as being a weak leader.
  21. This is a tough question. I have seen many bands over the years so I'm going to suggest my 3 band list: Led Zepplin SuperTramp David Bowie (Annie Lennox opened for him!) It doesn't get any better than that. For Canadian musicians, I'll go with ( I added another): Bruce Cockburn (Hamilton Folk Festival) Blue Rodeo (London, Ontario, their living room set on stage, couches and lamps, very cool) Gordon Lightfoot (Massey Hall, of course!) Joni Mitchell (she opened for Bob Dylan in Toronto)
  22. There really is one. And you are not a woman.
  23. Quite necessary supplies, fuel, food. Anything that Israel is blocking that any other community needs to survive. Hamas has taken advantage of these tunnels. No one is arguing against that.
  24. Right now, they are struggling just to survive, stay under cover, prepare meals for their families, and keep their children safe. How do you propose they take up arms against Hamas? Especially when they will most likely be shot on sight if they show any type of resistance. Let's get real here. We are talking about thousands upon thousands of people looking for safe refuge against these brazen attacks (war crimes).
  25. Google makes very smart business decisions with the intention of increasing profits. One major reason they scan emails is to deliver targeted ads. Advertisers pay big bucks for a targeted audience.
