  1. i did not receive any response from Charles or Greg. However, as a woman, I would like some kind of recognition that they are looking towards introoducing more topics related to women in politics. We do have thoughts towards progressive politics.
  2. Thank you. I did not receive any response from Greg or Charles and I assumed there would be hysterical overreaction from men on MLW. Thank you for that recognizance. I hope that this dated forum can introduce sections for women.
  3. I dare Charles to start a few new sections on women and politics.
  4. If we had a half dozen women here suggesting topics about canadian politics, do you think they would bring up ships, guns etc. Let's get real.
  5. i am overwhelmed by the ignorance of her talent. That just reaffirms my request for female categories.
  6. Right, you are an enlightened consumer of arts.
  7. I have contributed my suggestions to Maple Leaf. I have suggested categories for women - science and technology etc and for the most part they have been ignored. Trust me, I do not like the categories. They are targeted towards men and I would like to see some differences between the women and men categories. If you guys don't agree, then ok. You have spoken. I have given my suggestions.
  8. Are the men here threatened by women topics that may come up?
  9. Good grief. Can we not expand on the topics here that may relate to women. Come on guys. Give it up!
  10. Are you fucking kidding me!!!!
  11. How could another sub-forum on women's topics be successful when I am one of the few women contributing. If a sub-forum was created for women, who knows! I introduced a topic about Linda Griffith and as I surmised, no one here knew about her. This is why the importance of women forum topics. Do you get it?
  12. You chose to ignore artistic contributions to the history of canadian polictics. This is why you had no idea who she was.
  13. How did I derail my thread?
  14. She was a well recognized, and award winning artist and yet, she is still ignored by the male society of Canada. This is why we need female representation even on this forum.
  15. Right. This is exactly my point.
  16. I agree and I also believe that Rob Ford does not need our sympathy. He just needs to grow up.
  17. There are plenty of sections that can be for women as I have suggested but have received no response from Greg or Charles much as Michael Hardner would like to lead everyone to believe. I have suggested: science and technology for women health research for women I really don't know how it would be handled or addressed. I am just offering up suggestions. A forum that talks about ships and boats, and guns etc is not an enlightening topic for women. However, if this forum does not want women to participate, than carry on with the status quo.
  18. It is absolutely a slur!
  19. It just seems like I am contributing to male topics from a female perspective. It gets so incredibly boring. Why can I not contribute to topics from a female perspective on a canadian political forum based on female perspectives. I do believe we represent at least 50% of the canadian public. Except when I do come at a topic from a female perspective, I am beaten down by men. Where are the women? Where are the forums from a female perspective. Hello?
  20. I introduced a topic today about Linda Griffiths. If anyone knows about arts and culture and the Toronto scene, they would know about Linda. She died of breast cancer and I had no where to comment on her death except in the 'arts and culture' section, althought she deserves a topic in the federal section. I would really love to have sections for women, broken up into different sections. This forum is so male dominated with male subjects that it is incredibly boring for a canadian woman to engage in topics.
  21. It is for stories like these that I would like to have categories for women on this forum. I would like to recognize women like Linda but unfortunately, I have recommended categories and they have been ignored. It seems that this forum only rules for men.
  22. It is with sad news that Linda Griffiths has died after a long battle with breast cancer. I was tempted to post this in the federal forum as she was very well know for her one woman show as Pierre and Maggie, however, she is an artist and story teller. Depending on what you read, she was born in 56 or 53, although her birth year really doesn't matter. She was a prolific writer, actor and if anyone has not seen her one woman show, she portrayed Pierre and Margaret Trudeau in scenes taking place from 1974 to 1980. RIP Linda.
