  1. Just so we both aren't whistling in the dark, here are some facts which should explain why the media and the canadian public should take these 'chiefs' seriously. Population close to 300 One hundred years ago the Shoal Lake community was relocated so Winnipeg could receive safe water to serve their community. Prior to their relocation, they had lived there for a few hundred years. While water from the lake is piped 150 km to Winnipeg, the people of Shoal Lake must rely on bottled water because they don't have an adequate drinking water system of their own. Because of their isolation, many of the necessities of life, from jobs to groceries to medical care, are all on the other side of the water. The high cost of transporting equipment and supplies to the island is also one of the reasons that a new water treatment facility has not been built, even though for years the federal government said that drinking water for Shoal Lake #40 was a high priority. It has also meant tragic delays in getting patients to hospital and has delayed to police and emergency responders getting to the community. When people are denied safe drinking water, a way to get safely back and forth from their home and lack of access to health care facilities, this is why they are demonstrating. These are the human rights violations. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/thunder-bay/shoal-lake-40-human-rights-violations-museum-highlights-water-problems-1.2769067
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxVl264ZwIo One of the first punk bands from Toronto.
  3. When children are treated with violence, especially from parents, they begin to lose trust with their parents and grow up not trusting the motives of the many people around them. Spanking also increases aggression and there have been plenty of studies to prove this.
  4. I listened to an interview this morning on cbc radio but I don't recall his name, but he is an elder or chief protesting the museum's opening to bring awareness to their living conditions. His community lives on an island separated from the mainland near Winnipeg because of a channel that was built to allow water to flow to satisfy the needs of Winnipeg. The people living on the reservation have had to boil their water for the last 17 years. They take some barge over to the mainland when the water isn't frozen over. When it does freeze over, the only way to the mainland is by walking over the ice. Folks have lost their lives falling through the ice to reach the mainland.
  5. Interestingly enough, one of the ex-mps who wrote this letter is an advisor to the anti-abortion group Campaign Life Coalition and has publicly opposed same-sex marriage.
  6. So if a 1 to 3 year old gets violent, they deserve violence too. That doesn't make sense. That only reinforces their violent behaviour.
  7. Violence may get their attention, no doubt about that and it may correct behaviour in the short term, but long term, not so much.
  8. That trailer that BC posted is also available on porn sites. Yes, I did look it up.
  9. It's not really your place to tell me when not to and when I should respond to someone. I did report his behaviour and I simply didn't feel it was right to ignore and not draw attention to his antics. If I want to respond to someone's post, that is my perogative.
  10. Seriously, I was just about heading to sleep, when I saw this message and your message exemplifies everything I stand for. I have no attachment to this scene. I am absolutely horrified by the introduction of this video BC introduced. It had no place in this environment that I was proposing. As usual he was instigating some kind of warped thought. I do not need to PM anyone. But thank you for your kind response. I appreciate it. If only we can extend those thoughts to our male counterparts who are not so thoughtful.
  11. Of course you would say that. I am not surprised. And I am not surprised if many other men on this forum had no problem with BC's video. If you all agree that you have no problem with his video and I am overreacting, than I will leave.
  12. Did you look at his video?
  13. I am coming undone? Did you take a look at the video BC posted? Of course it is typical fashion to shoot the messenger.
  14. 'yes you do' they will be bloody broke', ok, that's a sound argument!. I have no suggestions as to why they would be better off. Let's let them decide!
  15. If you want to spank your teenage daughters, go for it BC.
  16. I did not introduce the hiked up skirt. WTF. I talked about children getting spanked.
  17. Are you kidding me? I did not mention the hiked up skirt. BC introduced his porn video. All I talked about was a strap across the hand. BC was totally responsible for his bizarre videos.
  18. I assure you, I have no hidden agenda. You are just a complete utter ass....ole.
  19. Sorry. You were the one who linked to that video. No one on this forum did except you!
  20. I missed that video. Link it to me.
  21. you are forgetting what I started this thread about. You proceeded to derail it into a porn thread of high school students being spanked with their bikini bottoms. I believe that canadian men would not stoop as low as you have.
  22. You denigrated this thread into spanking of female high school students with their skirts hiked up.
  23. You have no sound argument as to why they shoud not separate.
  24. I believe that Maple Leaf web should step up to the plate and do something to stop this disguisting behaviour. I have never seen a canadian man post anything disguisting like this.
