CBC Ombudsman to do Internal Investigation

Mulroney's testimony in Parliament
Canuck E Stan replied to jazzer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ah, but I think it is working. The more that the media presents the Mulroney of the past into the present, and the more that the term "Conservative" is is thrown into the mix, the more the general public will associate "Conservative" with all this. And this will include Harper, even though he has nothing to do with what occured 15 years ago. It will seem just like yesterday to everyone with the constant bombardment by the media. -
Canada's Next Great Prime Minister
Canuck E Stan replied to Julienne's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why are these PM competitions always for people that don't have a chance in reality of becoming Prime Minister? Open these competitons to everyone of legal voting age and see some real ideas and competition. -

That's great news. It just shows they can make it on their own without taxpayers having to foot the bill. -

It's easy. Send me a cheque once a month and I'll forgive you for any greenhouse gases that are caused by you.

Muslim father chokes daughter to near death
Canuck E Stan replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Accidents don't happen.Accidents are caused. Striking someone, putting your hands around their neck, sticking the kitten's head in shit are all causes. You're inabliity to control yourself from doing this kind of response shows it is YOU that has a problem, and it is YOU that needs help. These actions are never justified, there are ways to resolve issues and being violent or committing violence of any kind is never ever one to even consider. -

Teenagers can drive you around the bend?.........to make you kill? I'm afraid you are making excuses, and probably need help yourself in dealing with teens. -

CBC reviewing claim This will be the third time CBC has had to do an internal investigation about anti-conservative reporting. In 2004 an email from Stephanie Matteis of CBC's The National exposed the CBC's search for Canadians that would not vote for the Conservatives because they were "scared, freaked out or worried about the Conservatives, the Conservative agenda or its leader." The CBC was also forced on August 21, 2006 to express "regret" over a story by CBC reporter Christina Lawand that misrepresented an answer given by Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

“We have to change the way things work in Ottawa.”-Paul Martin Speech to the National Convention Liberal Party of Canada November 15, 2003 “We will put an end to cronyism…. No longer will the key to Ottawa be who do you know. We are going to condemn to history the practice and the politics of cronyism.” -Paul Martin Speech to Quebec City Chamber of Commerce March 17, 2004 Open Patronage Appointments And Paul Martin was right, as was Stephan Harper. Liberal cronyism did end.

Making a shipload of this type of patronage appointments just before or just after an election call is a better time?

I thought "raft" meant a whole lot......is seven,a whole lot?.....or did the reporter mean enough to fill a raft? Why was the reference to her husband added? Was he the one who appointed the judges? How about the kids? What do they do? At least? Who were the others? Not being Tory then I guess they're not worth mentioning. Like the reporter, who's married to his wife, this story contains a raft of information for the reader to absorb,so much in fact, none of the other newspapers even mentioned the raft of appointments. Did I mention the reporter is married to his wife?

Big improvement over the first one offered,I also think it looks quite good.

Canada blocks Commonwealth climate-change deal
Canuck E Stan replied to trex's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Remind me again what the opposition plan for emissions was. I only recall generalities(Kyoto,Kyoto) and not any details of what they called for in the implementation. -
Canada blocks Commonwealth climate-change deal
Canuck E Stan replied to trex's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What was wrong with the Tory start on a plan to fight Air and Water pollution? Why couldn't the opposition accept this made in Canada for Canada plan, instead of insisting on Kyoto, that was far too late and far too expensive for Canadians to begin getting involved in, especially without any positive changes to the Canadian environment? -
Canada blocks Commonwealth climate-change deal
Canuck E Stan replied to trex's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Let's not talk about some people like Dion who think they know how things will be for the Canadian economy. He has proven he knows not enough to solve problems in the environment or the economy, especially when he had the power to do something about it. The last session involved Kyoto, which is dead in the water. The Tories are one up on the former Environment minister of the previous government, which did absolutely nothing, this government actually looked beyond Kyoto and had proposals to begin solving issues. How can being better than nothing be faulted? -
The NDP....The Official Party of We're So Sorry
Canuck E Stan replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Likewise, the media should have put a sock in the Liberal's Redman's mouth over the same issue.
