  1. Now that we've established that no political party has any credibility on the environment -- the Liberals missed the targets and the Tories with this (presumably shows loss of credibility) -- what do we do? Vote NDP? Vote Green? God love us...how do we save the environment? We could talk about it...some more and go and see AliGore's "nightmare on earth" again. Or we can start with doing something, at least the clean air act and build from there.
  2. Better send in the Health Department, 14 months without cleaning out the office....phew!
  3. And the Queen is the boss of England.
  4. I know you want to make some fictitious distinction between being "Formally Investigated" and simply investigated, but the conflict of interest is the same in either way. I'm going to accuse you of doing harm to the MLF by preventing debating on relevant topics, so until Greg decides to investigate those accusation,it's in your best interest that you stop posting here until there is or is not an investigation. Whether there is or is not an investigation on your harming the MLF, your returning will be based on Greg. Next week, another poster may make another accusation towards your persistance on this topic and therefore you will have to stop posting again until there is an investigation by Greg. The week after, a poster who thinks your rambling on Stockwell is getting stupid ,will lodges a complaint to Gregg, again you will have to stop posting until Gregg decides wheither it should be investigated. Seems fair, yes?
  5. If you agree to the idea of an investigation, I can't see how you would think one of the Investigees can be in charge of the force carrying out the investigation. What would you think of having Mark Holland in charge of investigating Mark Holland?Honestly, it's kind of troubling that Conservatives seem to see this as 'just politics'. It's much more than that. It's an important point of transparency and good government. And it's a time-honoured principle of parliament ... when a minister has a potential conflict of interest with his or her portfolio, they step aside. Examples old and new, which were much less clear-cut than this one, have all done the same thing. The most recent is from Ontario where Minister Sorbara left his portfolio until cleared in a securities investigation. Sorbara never admited wrongdoing and he was eventually vindicated, but he understood that parliamentary tradition had to be respected in the mean time. Sorbara stepped aside BEFORE they decided to investigate?
  6. Ah, come on. You know what the fax says ... you can't seriously pretend it's not an issue. Again, ah, come on. You know as well as I do that I simply meant that I have no specific objection to Stockwell as a minister apart from this particular challenge. I personaly don't really give a shit about the fax or if or if not, he is guilty, with your badgering on and on, the issue does gets lost. I do resent the fact that you seem to be judge and jury over this issue, demanding he step aside before a decision is made, and DO NOT for some reason, think the RCMP should be the ones making the FINAL decision about whether this issue should or should not be investigated. What is your problem with not letting THEM decide if it is worthy of investigating? And.....if it is investigated.....why you can't let THEM decide the outcome? And wait until it happens. Somehow I feel if they decide to NOT investigate and if they do investigate, and DO NOT find him at fault we will not hear the end from you.
  7. ...and you as well.
  8. Maybe in your great wisdom you should contact the RCMP and give them all this advice about investigating Day. This forum has heard you run circles on your opinion of this issue that has not even been decided to be investigated. Nice of you to allow Stock to continue as minister if he's found innocent of anything that might or might not be invesigated. How Liberal of you
  9. Me either, let's wait and see what the RCMP say......oh!.....can't do that here on the forum, some posters here can't wait and want to natter on about it indefinately.
  10. when? Too much computer
  11. With your MLA only working 30 days a year, here's something for them to do the rest of the time.
  12. Same old, same old. Keep repeating the same "story" over and over, again and again. Doesn't change anything one way or the other. It's still the same. Who are you trying to convince? Go ahead start another thread about Stockwell. It won't change a thing. Give us something new to go on,or give it up until there is something.
  13. Really getting a bang for your buck in Manitoba. And everyone thinks car stealing is a major issue?
  14. If it was a real story, you wouldn't keep going back to a news article that in one day will be a month old. As a wanna be news hound you're living in the past......get a real story and a life.
  15. Much like Dion is doing,eh?
  16. Yes, they did leave the Liberal party...........in shambles.
  17. ............and Martin and Chretien were the best of pals.
  18. Liberal platform I now understand why the provincial Liberals have only 2 seats.
  19. Even Canada's green guru is saying that the economy has to pay the price for the green dream. Suzuki All this pretending by the opposition parties that Kyoto won't effect the economy is just stupid political game playing. For all the time it takes to reduce greenhouse emissions in Canada, that will be when the economic benefits will only start to begin. 'Everything takes longer than it takes"
  20. Dion was about the same in popularity just after he got his leadership nod. Quite the pair. Committing to nothing because Williams knows Doin will never be a PM.
  21. same picture, cropped to the right top corner, above the words and right of the smoke stacks. Which by the way are no longer in existance .....if you had read the whole thing you would have found out, which you obvoiusly didn't take the time to do. Demolished In Mississauga Monday June 12, 2006
  22. No oil companies,no oil production. No oil production,no jobs. No jobs,no prosperity. No prosperity,no popularity. No popularity,no Williams.
  23. Your first point about the present job loses in manufacturing in the last few years, that is precisely how fast the job loses can occur in the next few years. Have you asked yourself why these manufacturing jobs have gone in the last few years? What industry employed these people? Think about it? The report is not irresponsible but tells it like it is. Listen to Baird: this wolf may be real And how was the opposition going to achieve these immediate results starting in 2008 without the economy being effected drastically? It can't be done.
  24. It is old style politics, and the very fact that Chretian is endorsing the idea, reminds me of the reasons why the Liberals are in opposition. Dan Baril's blog Former strategist for May,Dan Baril, gives advice on his blog to Lizzy and Stephie. Dan has a lot of other things to say.
  25. Don't be so cynical,The Liberals could be non-existant this election. But 8 times more Tories than Liberals? Woah.
