  1. While the consensus is that Trudeau and Singh will be working together, in the next Parliament after this election, I am not so sure. After this election, I am quite seriously thinking the Liberals and Conservatives might choose to co-operate in Parliament, rather than Liberals form a formal coalition or long-term co-operation with the NDP and/or Bloc. I am thinking of the following points: The Liberals chose to have an election rather than to continue to make deals with the NDP and Bloc; Parliament is now not much changed The Liberals have continued to move more and more from the left to the centre throughout their previous mandate; examples are stance on pipelines, willingness to bail out and subsidize businesses during pandemic and unwillingness to adopt NDP-inspired tax reforms The Conservatives have continued to move more and more from the right to the centre throughout the election campaign; examples are stance on gun control, acknowledging the need to address climate change and encouraging vaccinations The Conservatives would not likely start moving further to the right as further-right voters such as those who voted Libertarian or Peoples' Party are too small of a voting bloc to be worth chasing after, as opposed to the more centre voters Conservatives need to win and would lose by moving right Trudeau might not be especially picky in terms of who he co-operates with in Parliament this mandate as he seems to imply another election in another 18 months or so is likely Trudeau is unlikely to co-operate on many issues long-term with the Bloc as they are his main rival in Quebec Trudeau is unlikely to co-operate on many issues long-term with the NDP as they are his main rival on the left The Green Party was no longer a political force in this election; Green voters are winnable by Liberals; Greens have no power in parliament; Conservative co-operation therefore may have become a negligible threat to Green-turned-Liberal voters, especially as the Conservatives have acknowledged the need to address climate change A Liberal-Conservative co-operation (most basically meaning no voting YES to any non-confidence motions) would ensure that Parliament lasts longer than it would under any other arrangement

  2. Freedom of speech means that if you criticize government, they don't fine you or imprison you. It also means the Government can't penalize you for anything you say or post, unless it is incitement to violence or hate speech. Private companies, like Global, have no obligation to accept what you, or anyone else, posts on their site. They have the right to reject what you say, just as you have to say it.

  3. it would simply require those who violate the law, to be punished accordingly and those who don't do that, are of course free to protest absolutely no change is required, that is the status quo there is no need to fix something that isn't broken

  4. 1. I agree, sending them back is nonsense, but I have heard it proposed by extremists. 2. Looks like we agree here, too, more or less. While most of us are born with either male or female characteristics, I don't think people are simply male or female. I think our gender is on a continuum, with hormones determining how male or female we look, think and behave. Hormones are pretty powerful so it doesn't really surprise me that sometimes the hormones we produce do not match the sexual characteristics we were born with. 3. Yeah, extremists on both sides are a problem. Amazing, a leftie and a rightie agreeing.

  6. We agree on a lot! Do you think it’s productive in a conversation to refer to blanket statements about “the left” (or right, or whatever), or do you think it’s better to talk, and disagree, about the ideas?

  7. 1. I hope this is not tied to down sizing our immigration numbers or restricting immigrants from certain places in the world. Sending them back is non sense... 2. Every Canadian is protected by the law, it does not have to single out any race or religion, or sex. as for the surgeries go let them have them the law already restricts everyone under 18... And everyone is born male or female , and in the rare case both sexes that is a medical and scientific fact. 3. that is happening look at Antifa, extreme right for instance or the left or right not many can sit down and have a conversation about anything... pretty soon everything will be canceled...

  9. My golden rule is that most people think they are more conservative than they really are. George Bush fancies himself one, but he is at best what Von Mises would call an interventionist. He pushed big government policies, spent like a drunken sailor, and sent sons to war over ridiculous democracy building.

  11. Der Krieg ist vorbei. The war is over. It appears that Madam Meng WanZhou will be released. If all goes well, the Canadians held hostage in China will be deported and relations with China can return to normal. It is naive to believe other nations don't try to influence elections to suit their own interests. In 1963, the CIA its rumoured to have assisted Mike Pearson to defeat Prime Minister Diefenbaker. Besides leaking information regarding the Conservative Governments's refusal to accept nuclear weapons in Canada. Pearson is alleged to have used classified information provided by the CIA in the 1963 campaign. Just as the CIA used Mafia proxies to attack, Castro, the Mafia also heavily contributed to the Liberals through such people as Lucien Rivard and George LaMay. China does it, Russia does it, the UK does it, the USA does it and, yes, Canada does it. Everybody does it. Fortunately, in most cases, nobody does it very well.

  12. Are you being hyperbolic, or do you actually believe that the Canadian government is communist? I ask, because I’m just wondering what reason I should use for not taking you seriously…. Does he exaggerate a lot, or is he just really, really stupid? That’s the question I’m trying to answer…

  13. It was not put on basic cable because the communists at the CRTC did not want the conservative Sun News Network on the air and basic cable and wanted them instead to fail. I am pretty sure that they would have done very well and may be still around if Sun News were allowed to go on basic cable. By all appearances you are living in a communist country right now and you better wake up fast to that fact. This covid hoax so called crisis has been a great gift and blessing to the new world order great reset globalists and covid is being used by the communist globalists with the help of our lackey gutless politicians and their corporate owned Canadian media to push communism in Canada today. The communist government in Ottawa is against we the people. Sadly, the many stupid sheeple out there keep supporting the communists in Ottawa and keep aiding them along to their eventual demise as a free people. By putting Castro Trudeau back in his comrade PM chair again they may have just sealed all Canadians fate. A fate that they are not going to enjoy and be happy with. Prove me wrong if you can? I doubt that anyone here can. Just saying.
