Where are you getting that from my post? Judges don't make laws they strike down laws when it violates the constitution.1 point

Booed off stage. Mob mentality. Screaming masses. Me I get booed a lot. I take it for what it is worth-often angry emotional reactions at things I have said, often misunderstood. We can all in hindsight look back at our communications and wish we had been clearer. What I can be clear on is that I find people who boo usually emotional and reacting to their anger not using their intellect. People with thought have no need to boo. They are actually quite quiet when people they do not agree with speak. I learned from the people who disagreed with me the ones that remained silent and spoke when I was done were a great role model for me to do the same in reverse. Those are the people that I understood were listening. People who boo do not want to listen so they make noises. What happened to Cherry is a sign of the times. It is a shining example of people who do not take the time to listen and jump at anything they think will give them a platform to feel better about themselves by booing or hating someone else. The people who boo Don Cherry haven't a clue what he said or believes. They are just another mob and this world has no shortage of mobs and the martyrs they create. Every two seconds someone chases the next Frankenstein with their pitchforks. Been there done that. Come from a long line of people chased by people who did not just boo but lit things on fire. Cherry's only mistake is he was on a media that sucks the titties of sponsors.1 point

Booing people off the stage. You see no contradiction with that and free speech. Right.1 point

All of the people I know of who transitioned were in their 20's to 60's. We are talking about a Prof I know who spent $120,000 on her SRS, a cop in the Vancouver Police Department, a number of members of the Canadian Forces, a US Navy seal. The youngest personal acquaintance of mine was a 23 year old electrical engineering student. I have heard of a case in the United States that is before the courts where a mother is allegedly wanting to transition a pre-adolescent child and, at the risk of pre-judging the court, that could be child abuse. She needs professional help. That is a rare case. I was our Department's liason with the Pride Centre and sat on the Provost's Advisory Committee on LGBTQA Affairs. I got to know a lot of people in the rainbow community both on our campus and U-Vic, Calgary, Edmonton, and UBC. They cross all party lines. Your image of the transgender community is clearly based on a lack of knowledge. You need to get out more. I hope you find what you are looking for. If the LGBT community has difficulty with the CPC, it is because there is a segment of our party that would persecute them. If someone was threatening you just because of who you are, would you not push back?1 point

Bush didn't endorse McCain until March 2008, didn't endorse Romney until May 2012. Nothing special about the way Obama is waiting to endorse candidates he clearly supports either, he just doesn't want to risk supporting a loser and diminishing the value of his endorsement, when he endorses the eventual winner. Doesn't want to be seen as interfering in the primary race either.1 point

The media wants to make a mountain out of molehill because they have nothing else to talk about. Biden not getting an endorsement from Obama yet is not a big deal, don't listen to media saying it is, they are just trolling for page clicks.1 point

Obama didn't endorse Clinton until it was obvious she couldn't lose either, in June of 2016 and she was his Secretary of State! She was an even bigger frontrunner than Biden ever was. So if Biden is clearly going to win, expect a June 2020, give or take a month or two, endorsement from Obama. Obama not endorsing Biden yet is to be expected.1 point

Obama is just waiting until he knows who the nominee is going to be, he's not going to risk endorsing a loser.1 point

Biden's time has passed...he had his chances...starting decades ago. He is owed nothing for time served except for his pension. A real estate huckster from Queens won the presidency on his first try...without any previous political office experience. Biden just doesn't have the juice...and he never did. Obama mocked him as VP after Biden insulted Obama as " the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean".1 point

We all have free speech. If I don't like what you say, I speak up. You may be drowned out ... or fired. Oh well. There is no contradiction in that. Free speech has consequences. I have noticed though that the far right think only they have free speech, and everybody else has to listen to them. Lol That's ridiculous. Nobody promised anybody an adoring audience. People get booed off the stage all the time.1 point

I was born in Vancouver and grew up in Toronto and I have no interest in either anymore, but I'm also getting old, I like it out in the country now, cities are for the young.1 point

Note I mostly criticized being sick and tired. I only cited one and his conservatism is clearly a strong part of what is motivating him to favour destruction.1 point

There isn't much point in celebrating Remembrance Day in our schools when the students aren't taught or properly taught about most of Canada's key historical events and wars. To not do so, which we don't, is in fact a huge disrespect to those that fought and were killed/injured/risked their lives for our country. You can't remember or honour what they sacrificed if you don't even know what they did in the first place. I shudder to think what % of Canadians born after ~1970 knows the name of our PM who was in office during WWII. And the Citizenship tests are a joke. They get you to try to read tons of facts but the actual test is a joke, a buffoon could pass it.1 point

America may be propping us up. But that is part of what makes Canada work. We have good relations with our powerful neighbour. This is good for us... and good for America. We are a reliable trading partner. We send America plenty of our skilled people and accept plenty of theirs up here. Nothing broken about it. America isn't about to fail... that's part of the fantasy as well.... They are just being Americans, as they have always been... rumbling about their differences.... brawling on the streets. Living liberty to a fault.1 point

These are the facts. Canada has the security of it's geographic location and geopolitical allies. Makes us soft and complacent.... And yet... nothing really broken about it.1 point

I mean I catch your drift. Certainly the left-speak gets tiresome... But Canada is solid. It holds up. Celebrate it whatever way you will.1 point

And Muslim Imams and Mullahs promote the sentiment that leads to tens of thousands of violent and murderous terrorist attacks. They should be held accountable for their bigoted hate mongering and dehumanizing discourse.1 point

Oh please... Post National Totalitarian regime... Give me a break.1 point

I spent some time in South Africa recently... That country is broken. Canada is among the least broken countries in existence right now. That's not to say it doesn't have flaws and problems... but the whining about our country being broken is about the only thing broken about our country.1 point

If we had real conservatives around here, they'd be championing a private sector solution to the punishment problem ! Why is the state getting involved in my quibbles with my neighbour ? What kind of bureaucrat wants to take away my private property (my machete) that I use to settle these manners ? Hangmen cost taxpayer dollars - get the government out of my space and let me handle my neighbour's blaring MC Hammer music on my own terms, in my own time with my own bazooka !1 point

Sanctions are a blunt instrument that tend to affect ordinary people far more than the government one is targeting, and encouraging the populace to rise up will get a lot of them killed. Like China, Iran is an ancient state that has known authoritarian rule for thousands of years. Those habits will not be changed by foreigners. Reform will probably take decades and the ruling elite will have to die off first.1 point
