  1. American liberals often glorify western Europe. They say these countries are better to live in in many respects. I don't doubt that they are, in some certain ways, but what gets ridiculous is that American liberals will praise western Europe for everything---and then quietly ignore the dark side. Take Denmark. After welcoming thousands of immigrants in with open arms--and being critical of the United States for OUR treatment of immigrants--they change their mind and decide to do things like this: https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/05/europe/denmark-immigrant-island-scli-intl/index.html If America did this--which it couldn't--Amnesty International would be up our butts faster than a rat through an aqueduct. We already take flack from liberals in the U.S. for our treatment of immigrants, and for tear gassing people who tried to storm the U.S. border checkpoint south of San Diego. But it's OK to do this sort of thing, because it's western Europe. It never fails to amaze me how the Left in America conveniently ignores the dark side of the continent it puts up on a pedestal. Now I realize many of the Brussels-mandated refugees haven't turned out to be model guests. But even I, a foreign policy hawk, think something like this goes too far. But trying telling that to far left Democrats.

  2. I'm surprised there isn't a discussion on this or maybe I missed it. Either way even though most western countries are not signing on, Canada is and IMO, we should not. What is very alarming is the intent to define criticism of migration as 'hate speech' so would become a criminal offense. “Media outlets that give room for criticism of migration, can be shut down.“ https://www.spectator.co.uk/2018/09/the-war-of-the-world/?fbclid=IwAR3CYLDBEhqxZ_cghgQX_WA_KR3jKvNNdtPJnC8lcqpQHofxHFv9lvO2Ooc To properly understand the trend of world political events in recent years, it is essential to appreciate that a titanic struggle for supremacy between two implacably opposed ideologies is raging right across the Western world. It is an undeclared war waged largely behind the scenes. The attackers are powerful globalist and multi-national interests such as the EU and the UN, supported by many leftist groups funded, paradoxically, by mega-rich financiers. Their ultimate aim is the abolition of borders, migration between countries at will, the dismantling of national identity, the transfer of power to supra-national bodies, and eventually the imposition of a post-democratic unitary world government. The defenders are those who believe that Western-style democracy based on the nation-state remains the least-worst way yet devised of safe-guarding the life, liberty and prosperity of its citizens. Public awareness of the struggle is almost non-existent because, with very few exceptions, the free world’s mainstream media long ago aligned themselves with the globalists and have shamefully failed to Dutch politician and European Parliament member Marcel de Graaff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lORLGL2no_U

  3. Fact is: Islam (individual Muslims aside) has come to Canada to eventually dominate and eliminate all other forms of faith...including atheism. Not to make friends or to be part of a mosaic of diversity. It's right in the Quran for those who bother to read the battle plan. Here's one of the quotes from the Quran describing this plan for humanity... And fight them until there is no fitnah* and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah . And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do. https://quran.com/8/39 * Fitnah: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitna_(word)

  4. Briefly....."Humans cause Climate Change" is simply not true....or a lie - take your pick. The term "Climate Change is Real" spouted by the alarmist community is an ignorant remark - and those who spew it need to give themselves a big shake.

  5. Humans are responsible for pollution and other problems which we are gradually eliminating, but generally they are not responsible for earth's changing climate, nor can they do anything to stop it. We can clean up pollution as we are but earth has cycled and come in and out of ice ages before humans had any impact at all. Instead of hysterics and policies damaging to our economy and standard of living, we should be building and preparing the future.

  6. Jonathan Haidt suggests there are two kinds of people (roughly). Type A is eager to see and experience new things, feels quite at home around strangeness and wildly different people and languages, has little real respect for traditions or respect for institutions and the state. They live for the here and now, for the experience and love diversity and novelty. Type B has a more stolid, grounded view of life, values traditions and respects the state and its institutions, family and familiarity. These are people who feel a sense of kinship and belonging to the place they grew up in and the people they grew up with. And by extension, with the people of the nation they grew up and live in. It's not a sense of family, exactly, but certainly a sense of tribal affiliation, perhaps, or patriotism. The first kind of people are overwhelmingly urban, and not just urban but live in large cities with universities. The second kind tend to live all over, but in urban areas and smaller cities have a much, much higher prevalence simply because type A tends to move away from those areas looking for novelty and newness. The problem is that our national media is completely focused on those large urban centres and draws almost their entire stable of reporters and staff from Type A. And by and large they have declared that Type A is the only righteous type to be, and the views of Type B are illegitimate and unCanadian. And since they largely live in bubbles centred on those large urban aras they rarely wind up meeting or dealing with Type B, so have little idea how numerous they are. This was best evidenced by the declaration of repugnance at the idea of values testing for immigrants, where several declared the idea 'UnCanadian". Yet polls showed 75% of Canadians actually liked the idea. The Type A types who are in charge of the mainstream media and arts have few cares or concerns with however many migrants and immigrants come into Canada, and even fewer about what that might do to Canadian traditions and values since they don't really value either. Type B, of course, has far more concerns, and the longer they are ignored and sneered at the angrier some of them are going to get.

  7. Discussion of Obama is pure deflection. I am more interested in the 30 plus indictments of Trump's colleagues.

  8. Russia is a vast shithole of poverty, where getting drunk is the national sport. Putin and his fellow organized crime figures own everything worth owning while everyone else lives in Stalin era concrete apartments or run down shacks. Using their military to threaten and intimidate others makes Russians puff out their chests in pride, to be a part of such a 'great' country.

  10. I think you could include almost every western country in that statement, Scandinavian women are not the only retards to go hiking in a hostile Muslim country, Not sure what convinces them that it would be a great idea....but we in the west are way to trusting overall, just look at the all the liberal government platforms and you'll get what I mean...

  11. I wrote to Scheer during the leadership campaign. Well, actually, I responded to one of the emails he sent out. Anyway, he would not say anything about his position on immigration. He's a politician, not a leader. And I agree, they will govern, should they get elected, by poll, targeting this and that group through specific policy initiatives designed to win that group's support. He is against the migration pact, yes, strongly against! He is very much against all the people walking across the border! Very much against! What would he do? <crickets> He's not going to say he's going to cut immigration, because that might offend someone. Besides, it was his party which tripled immigration in the 1980s because they figured the new immigrants would vote for the PC party when they got their quicky citizenship card. Similarly, any ideas about illegal migration or refugees would leave him open to criticism for this and that. So he simply finds it better to be the stern finger wagger who wants all this stuff stopped, but without saying how. Neither bravery nor vision have been qualities any Canadian party leader has had for decades.

  12. Exactly. I don't trust the U.N. one iota and all of those words are designed to appear benign but are not which is why most countries are now backing out of it.

  14. It probably starts with knowing yourself first. The absence of superstitious influences and inappropriate thinking i.e. a poor understanding of cause and effect. Critical thinking, a mainstream cliche if there ever was one. I think the character of the people who quote them is a good first clue. Take Trump and Faux News for example.
