  1. Justin Trudeau announced the "death" of nationalism in his "post-national" Canada. Well guess what Trudeau is stoking today against Trump's tariffs ? Canadian nationalism.....

  3. I agree...Canada has imposed far more barriers and costs on itself than anything Trump can do. Why is Canada so unproductive compared to other nations ? Watching too much American media !!

  4. Toronto and Vancouver provide excellent examples of the trend noted in your post. The 'ethnoburbs' (as they're sometimes called) and extended ethnic areas that characterize vast swathes of suburban Toronto and Vancouver are examples of a new kind of Western urbanism that seems likely to thwart integration. Some analysts compare them to the 'receiving neighborhoods' of old, where continuous waves of immigrants from different places congregated in mainly poorer inner city neighborhoods until they became established and integrated into broader mainstream communities. But this doesn't appear to be the purpose of the ethnoburbs, which in many cases are now characterized by large and often expensive homes and are apparently intended as more or less permanent enclaves. It's interesting that in the Wikipedia entry on enthoburbs, the five cities cited as examples are all in mainly English-speaking countries and two of them are in Canada, with Vancouver ranking prominently at the top. One has to wonder what this says about Canadian "multiculturalism" and its emerging tribalist and anti-integrative tendencies? But we dare not raise concerns lest we be labeled as xenophobes, or worse.

  5. I don't "favour" it. It's just a fact that certain media are more biased - or "sectarian" - than others. I think it's fair to say that they are all biased to one extent or another - it's human nature. That said, The Star has consistently been a Liberal shill for decades - crafting their stories almost entirely around Liberal press releases and columnists slagging all things Conservative. They have vehemently been an anti-Ford crusader.....and as my previous post indicated, they are at it again - one day into Ford's premiership.

  6. Ummmm....no...plenty of dual-citizen Canadians already have a U.S. vote and a minority do vote Republican. Accordingly, in this fantasy scenario, some Canadians would vote Republican.

  7. The behaviour of Ayatollahs in Iran and 40 years of of theocracy rulings has created a place where Iranians are fed up with anything that comes from the horsemouth of their leader Khamenei and their supporters. It has created divisions and mistrust of who is pro and who is anti regime. One thing for certain no Iranian wants to see Maryam Rajavi (leader of terrorist organisations like MEK) who is is much admired and recognised by the US administration to reign over Iran after the ayatollahs.... It is regrettable that certain mindset is fixated that toppling this despicable regime can be done with the help from MEK! In her conference yesterday in France Maryam Rajavi leader of MEK already sees herself as the president of Iran....

  8. Yes, destroyed - compared with what we could be and should be today. Instead, we have become the leftist backwater that mostly lives by exploiting a rather finite quantity of resources. And, yes again. I should be free to serve busty white chicks or provide a safe haven for the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato community or whatever else I wish to do with on my own property. I should be free to hire and fire ANYONE I choose - it's my nickel, not yours. Public space, very different. Appropriately, the opposite of right is not just left, it is also wrong.
