  1. I posed a non-confusing question a few hours back no one has chosen to answer. No one would find an issue with me disliking Communism or Fascism. Why, then, do so many seem to feel strong disapproval, even dislike of Islam is a moral failing? As I have pointed out before, Islam is not merely a religion. It is a political ideology complete with clear instructions on how government is to operate, the values which must be enforced and both criminal and family law. Why is disliking such an ideology condemned by so many on the Left? Why do left wing politicians rush to embrace this ideology to demonstrate their 'inclusiveness' and 'openness'?

  2. I agree that Canadian Muslims are behind the times when it comes to accepting homosexuality. This is a problem and an opportunity for improvement via education.

  3. Or it could figuratively mean half a billion. I get that. What I can't put to rest (hence my question about dinosaurs) is the timing written in the book (allowing for the representative lengths). I've read Genesis and "the beasts" were made before man - okay cool. But then Noah puts everything that is to survive on a boat and the big guy floods the planet. 1) There is no scientific evidence that the planet was completely flooded AFTER the existence of mankind. 2) How the frick do you explain the evidence of huge land based mammals showing up after Noah when there is absolutely no way he could have fit them on a boat? 3) In order to populate the earth to known levels, the small handful of people that were apparently on the ark would have needed thousands and thousands of years of inbreeding to reach the population levels that were recorded soon after "the flood". This re population is genetically impossible...not improbable...impossible. I have no idea how even the loosest of translations of the book can address these issues but I'm curious as to your take on it. And please actually answer the questions - don't respond like hot enough in a 9/11 thread. Thanks,

  4. Look if you are going to hold the Harper government to the standards of the law then we should also expect the liberals to do the same. The old well "they did it first" or they did that does not fly, or should not fly we should be holding our governments whom ever they are to higher standards.....there are no teams, only a government who's prime concern should be the country, and it's people.... If you think that the quoted price is the end result your crazy.....they have not been costed out over 42 years as the F-35 program was, from a 9 bil price tag to a 46 bil over their life time....The Costing that the F-35 was forced to submit included much of what was already accounted for in DND O&M budget, so it was costed twice.....your 4 to 5 bil price tag could grow as high as 10 to 15 over 42 years.....but none of that was discussed, nor has it been made open to the public..... Trust me I did not like what the Cons did to our military , despite their claims of being military friendly.....the facts show another tale.....I had placed all my hopes on the liberal government to fix all of that or at least start the ball rolling.....The liberals have been another disappointment , with broken promises littering the landscape as far as the eye can see....and after 25 years DND has really not pushed ahead in equipment purchases.....but rather declined....Today our military is in the later stages of rusting out, and it rarely gets a mention.....soon Canada will have to decide to face a huge bill or close its DND forever....

  5. Is saying that all non-Christians should be tortured in hell for the crime of not being Christian not creating ill-feeling towards non-Christians? Is saying that all non-Muslims deserve to be tortured for eternity by Allah for the crime of not being Muslim not creating ill-feeling towards non-Muslims? Is saying that gay people deserve to be tortured for eternity in hellfire for the crime of being gay not creating ill-feeling towards gay people? If we were to make it illegal to create ill-feeling towards another group, then we we would have to ban Islam and Christianity, which would mean that we wouldn't have freedom of religion as a society.

  7. The hand wringing I can stand, it's the bitching and moaning that gets tedious! What would make it all worth it though, is a fired up economy, North Korea muzzled and a resulting win in 2020. I think I would actually laugh my ass completely off, which is quite hard for a shark to do.

  8. Someone attacked a local church the other day, and smashed the Jesus on the wall. It made the local news but I doubt it was on the national news coast to coast. A similar attack on a mosque would have been. http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/police-investigate-vandalism-at-st-patricks-basilica-on-kent

  10. The animosity is mostly towards the political ideology they embrace. Is it wrong of me to dislike Communism? How about Fascism? That's okay, right? Why is it immoral for me to dislike Islam?

  11. You're way off in left field. The Quran orders Muslims to fight the unbeliever until ALL RELIGION (that includes atheism) is FOR ALLAH. They advocate violence. Not moi. But sure...blame Islamophobia for the Quran's own predilection for violence
