BubberMiley Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 My my my , Little Mosque ratings are still above 1million for the fourth week. Sounds like it's by far the most successful CBC series ever. That was unexpected, but the grassroots buzz campaign worked wonders. kimmy Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 To update the Everybody Loves Allah ratings story... Previous week: Meanwhile, CBC's Little Mosque On The Prairie (8 p.m. on Wednesday) posted a significant audience of 1.2 million. That's an important number on two fronts: First, it maintains Little Mosque's streak of attracting a million-plus viewers through four new episodes; and second, it halts the downward trend that had seen the numbers go from 2.1 million for the debut, to 1.2 million, to 1.085 million. This week... No one can deny any more that CBC's Little Mosque On The Prairie is a hit. A new episode on Wednesday attracted another 1.2 million viewers. The numbers for all five first-run episodes thus far have not dipped below a million. So, that puts the Mosquetracker line at: #1: 2.1 million #2: 1.2 million #3: 1.085 million #4: 1.2 million #5: 1.2 million After the initial interest for the first episode died off, the ratings have actually been very steady. They have actually dropped off by much less than I expected. I believe this proves that the sort of people who watch sit-coms are easily amused. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

Moonlight Graham Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 never watched the show yet, but i hope it does well & is written well. it has a great opportunity to help muslims & other canadians understand each other more. get rid of all these terrorist stereotypes. Saw an article in the newspaper about the controversy over the show & how some muslims didn't like the way the characters were portrayed on the show. I hope the writers help fix this & the show keeps on its success. Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.

geoffrey Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I watched a bit of an episode. The acting is poor, the script is poor... it's really not funny at all. But I was impressed with some of the taboo's that writers touch on in Muslim society. They show the fundamentalist elements, it's not a big let's celebrate Islam for an hour broadcast. They show the marginalisation of women in the religion, all that sort of stuff. Very interesting. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --

Then during the week it seems the Canucks are playing Minnesota twice or Phoenix. The Leafs or Montreal didnt play in Vancouver once this season nor will they next season either. Best in the NHL since Xmas. Third in the conference. 17-2-1 against eastern conference teams over the past two seasons. Just whipped Tampa 5-1 the other night. Minnesota whipped Buffalo 5-1 last night. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC

Has late night news run its course? I watched Global News almost my entire life. From Peter C. Trueman on until Kevin Neuman. I stopped watching about 1.5 years ago, because the writing appeared stilted, and the language appeared like he was talking one step above baby talk when covering the news. I can't bring myself to watch their newscasts and ever since have been moving between CTV and CBC in the last 1.5 years. I just found that the scripting and commentary are nothing near the level that continued up until Peter Kent. So, I recall writing to them, explaining my lifelong viewership and Global recognised my concerns. But that was nice, and they continued doing the same, all the way up to #1. Shows you want I know. But, I still won't watch it. Quote

They didn't run a national broadcast. It was pretty much limited to Ontario. I watch Global News locally as it is the most to the point. I watch CBC nationally at 10 because the CTV News at 11 is just too late. Quote

stignasty Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Little Mosque screened for Hollywood audience Last Updated: Thursday, April 5, 2007 | 11:42 AM ET CBC Arts Hollywood got a taste of new Canadian TV hit Little Mosque on the Prairie Wednesday night, amid potential deals to bring the Muslim-themed sitcom to U.S. audiences. Some of the cast, crew and creative minds behind the new CBC-TV show took part in a screening of the Little Mosque pilot and a moderated panel discussion in Los Angeles Wednesday at the Museum of Television and Radio. http://www.cbc.ca/arts/tv/story/2007/04/05...-mosque-us.html Quote "It may not be true, but it's legendary that if you're like all Americans, you know almost nothing except for your own country.
