Did you know that Dion is a French Citizen (we know the GG gave hers up after it hit the fan) so does this make him a French poodle - cos we know if Harper had U.S. citizenship he would be a U.S. poodle. LOL and Dion was born here, not in France.

How do you manage each day knowing you're just the funniest person alive? It must be a huge burden.

When he loses the next election he'll want to use his French citizenship passport.

Sorry, scriblett is much funnier than you. Keep trying though. Never give up.

Seriously, I knew nothing about Dion, but after listening to him over the last few days I'm totally liking the guy. The personable quotient is huge, and he's got it.

No doubt he'll become PM. Harper just barely won given everything he had in his favor (sponsorship, a meek media, Paul Martin). Any honest Conservative can see the writing on the wall here, and it ain't good for them.

My question is, when the next election is held, whenever that may be, do the Liberals go back to using Harper as a bogeyman because it seems, to me anyway, they've got nothing positive to give to voters? I,personally think that canadians as a whole aren't going to buy that line any more. I can only hope!

Hopefully not. And hopefully the Conservatives won't go negative like they did last time either. One can only hope....

Almost three thousand people died needlessly and tragically at the World Trade Center on September 11; ten thousand Africans die needlessly and tragically every single day-and have died every single day since September 11-of AIDS, TB, and malaria. We need to keep September 11 in perspective, especially because the ten thousand daily deaths are preventable.

Bob Rae was the cat's ass, you kept saying , he was going to lead the Liberals out of the darkness, now you've discovered Dion......sounds like you really did your homework when you looked at all the candidates.

All this jumping on and off the popularity bandwagon must make you tired.

Interesting how issues that were very important to you have become lost in all the hoopla.

Like you said keep trying, never give up,someday the Liberals will have a real leader......did I hear Justin knocking on your green door?

Gerry, you're such a pushover for any left-sounding intellectual who comes along.

Dion and his (French born) wife have existed their whole lives on the taxpayers dime. Both were university professors (she still is, at RMC) and he at University of Montreal.

There is something almost frightening about how Soviet this is. There is a fundamental difference between receiving money voluntarily given and receiving money that was taken by force. I don't mean to be libertarian but Dion during his entire life has obtained his salary through decisions of a committee spending other people's money.

I suppose one could say the same of Colin Powell in the US.

These people get their salary deposited every second Wednesday without fail. It changes one's perspective of life and risk.

Oh yeah, you just know me so well.

Don't be a fool. Listen/read what I'm telling you. It's the truth.

Consider it. I'm not being flippent, as you are.

Analogous questions: Do the Conservatives go back to using the sponsorship scandal as a bogeyman? Will they claim that Dion is somehow linked to it and knew or should have known? Will they do this so that the voters ignore the Conservative record, the Emerson appointment, the Fortier appointment, the Darrel Reid appointment, the "Clean Air Act", the income trust broken promise, the increase in the personal income tax rate on July 1, 2006?

I think harper will try to run a positive campaign and not do any direct attacks against Dion in that manner. Watching CPAC it almost seems that the house feels sorry for Dion.

Harper knows that he must get the Chinese/Asian vote if he wants power. Hence the headtax refund and appology, critisism of china, and all the other Chinese commerce functions he's attended.

I don't know why everyone over complicates things. The Liberals are going to take seats from the block and that will be that. Nothing will change.

It's the second election that should be interesting because immigrants will only stay faithful to the Liberal party for so long. They are not being well represented. If a sikh in Bampton wants to take up their issue with Ruby Dahla, she can't reallly do anythin for them anymore. However, there is someone who can:

Assuming the RMC you refer to is the Royal Military College in Kingston, August, what exactly is so scary about spending government money to make sure that our military officers have the best possible training in every area?

I think both of you have too high an opinion of the average voter's memory. It seems most people will forget politically what happened more than a few weeks ago, unless it personally involved them (like losing money on income trusts).

To all the typing experts and grammatical arseholes posting here, wake up. First of all, when you put an opinion on here, it is to discuss the point of view, not if you missed the shift key (english, as opposed to English), or if you like a phrase (crap english, or crappy english), or if the person who is putting forward a point of view is taking the time to check over everything word for word. As to my english abilities, I'm not running for Prime Minister you useless figleaf, and friends. I don't answer to the Canadian public. And if you truly want to battle over English qualifications, then why don't you present your marks in english in your academic career, and I will present mine. And it was not the strenght of Dions typing or skill in writing English that was under discussion, it was his speech, you absolute @!.

As to the whine comment, well, I hear alot of crying about Alberta's wealth. And the NEP is not just a crap reason to hate the east, who elected Trudeau, it is a reason to go on a killing spree. When we said let the eastern bastards freeze to death in the dark, it was a goal, not hyperbole. And everyday we get one step closer to that goal. As for brainwashing people who move to Alberta, bull. We just point out a few things said about us by people in the east, and they start catching on fast. Then they see it for themselves. As to how my opinions are close to radical Islam, you are completly correct. That is why we should fight in the south, to keep them in check. Who better to understand hateful terrorists, that hateful right wing Albertans. And I like hate, it keeps you sharp, so there you go.

Wow someone pissed in someones cherrios didn't they. I too have been the brunt of some posters who wnat grammarically perfect posts, because they say they can not understand them otherwise. Well That is because they are stupid and would not understand them either way. They do not understand communications is all about making a point, and that point can be made in many ways. Most all of which people understand the implied intent of the post. I will brush off the grammar lesson as well you know that there are certain types who believe that we mere peasants do not have anything to contribute.

We just sit and watch and last weekend was so very informing about this board as to who are the paid hacks that the Liberals have here. Remember who was missing last weekend and who was here? It may not be a smoking gun, but it was informative for us creteins that were here watching.

As to how I express my opinions, I just type fast and let the points I'm making stand. I don't care if I formed the sentance correctly, or used proper form. It's an opinion forum, not a university circle jerk. I'll just have to start ignoring the useless crap and concentrate on the useful points. It is very easy to defend my opinion that Alberta is being screwed by eastern Canada. We pay you turkeys billions over what we get out of this second rate country. Your media insults Alberta weekly, and the people who live here, not just the government, and the opinions they express. We also do not have proper representation in the House of Commons or the Senate. The East has used its numbers, and lies, to control the country for the 100 years Alberta has existed. Look it up on the internet, the actions speak for themselves. You may think I blame the East for playing it that way, but I don't. Kudos on screwing us. But be aware that as an Albertan, my view is, paybacks a bitch, and revenge is a dish best served cold. And it can be very cold in Canada with no power, and no money, and not being the cock of the walk as you once were. The time when the West has its say is almost at hand. And then we get to screw you like you screwed us. Thats life, and Conservatives accept reality, while liberals talk about vision, and useless dreams and commie programs that will help make the world a utopia. Never gonna happen. Life is nasty and dirty, and that is the way I like it. You had your time to rule unopposed, and that is coming to and end, good for the West, bad for the East, thats all. You call it whining, but I call it a heads up to you about what we have in store for the bastards in Toronto and Montreal. If you disagree, fine, say so. But keep your English lessons to yourself, you ................................................................................

I have no problem understanding the point of your posts; however, perception is everything. When you make grammatical errors in your posting its a sure sign of being uneducated. If you are educated, you do understand grammar and you choose to disregard it, then you're simply being disrespectful to the reader. Grammar creates order in your message thereby making it easier for others to read it. It is quite arrogant to say, "you get the intent, that's all that matters", and that's assuming the person does understand the intent. Consider the proper use of the semicolon in the following:

Fares were offered to Corfu, the Greek island, Morocco, Elba, in the Mediterranean, and Paris. Margaret thought about it. She had been to Elba once and had found it dull, to Morocco, and found it too colourful.

Now with semicolons to assist the reader:

Fares were offered to Corfu, the Greek island; Morocco; Elba, in the Mediterranean; and Paris. Margaret thought about it. She had been to Elba once and found it dull; to Morocco, and found it too colourful.

So, although people may get your point, it is much more respectful to the reader to use proper grammar.

What the hell does that have to do with whether English has a capital E or not. Maybe you missed the shift key and don't think exressing an opinion on a silly fun little forum about politics calls for handwringing about stupid garbage. And explain how it matters if you say crap english, or crappy english, of crappy English. The point is it makes no difference, and the only people who comment on it are those who can't respond to the meat of the post, so they pretend they are smart by bringing this stupid junk up, time after time. This is about politics, and to even say that how you type on a forum connects at all with how the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada speaks English on television just shows no class and no brains.

As to the garbage of reporting simple exaggeration to the Admin. when clearly the text of the post in no way advocates illegal action is just foolishness. Using a phrase like "go on a killing spree" in the context of political action, in one part of the post, and then having all the context of what is being discussed left out, is crap. Pedophiles deserve to have the balls chopped off, but saying that doesn't in any way lead to saying that I advocate people going out and chopping balls off. Saying they deserve that, or that for stealing from Alberta, the people have a reason for a killing spree, doesn't advocate it, it merely describes a perfectly normal sentiment. To advocte violence, I would have to say that it should be done, not that the thing that is causing it is a reason why it could happen, or would be understandable.

As to "calm down" "do not promote violence", let me put this in point form to help clear you up on a few things.

1. Never tell me to calm down, if you want me off the site, then make it happen, don't you ever dare believe one word you say matters to me, and don't you dare believe you can tell me what to do.

You have no proof that I am not calm, so keep your editorial comments on my state of mind to yourself, and report what you want to report.

2. That you reported this incident is amusing to me, so obviously I am calm. And as to before, my disgust at fools who don't respond to the fullness of a post, and concentrate on trivial matters, means I think they should get there heads on straight, and I should tell them so in no uncertain terms. My delight in commenting on their absolute uselessness to this forum is enjoyable, so yet again, you are wrong, that makes me calm in that case.

3. Being grumpy, nasty, mean, and conservative means that I don't care about anything trivial that these leftist bring up, so I respond in my way. You assume that leads to me not being calm, but we all know that to assume makes a (well, you know).

4. The most important point "promote violence", needs to be addressed. If you thought it was out of bounds, you should have said so, and reported it, but I have not received a ruling, so it is not fact yet my friend. And I know it was not promotion in the context it was used, so even if the ruling was against me, I'm Conservative, I agree with courts when I think they are right, not if I think they are wrong, in law terms.

ex.(in the U.S. abortion was made legal by the courts, while I think reasonable choice is acceptable, I do not agree with the ruling, as it is in no way in the U.S. constitution, and a peice of paper is not a living document, its dead, and you could wipe your arse with it anyway, I follow the letter of the law, not your interpretation of it.) I used fiery rhetoric to illustrate a point, saying that stealing billinons is a reason to go on a "killing spree", I did not promote said spree, of even comment on if it would be right under those conditions. It was also in a province vs. province context, and dealing with political power, wealth and well being. I do advocte destroying Ontarion legally, and would be happy to discuss that and how it could be done, and why it should happen, and also if I see it as very possible in the near future. Also when I say east, I mean Toronto and Montreal, with some help from certain ridings in WelfareAtlantica.

I am college educated and yes I have a degree in Biochemistry. I also have a Mechanic's license from when I was young and I am also a cerified electronic technologist. But I will admit that my tech report writing days are long past and yes now I an on a disability pension for the rest of my life. I can if and when I want take the time and be picture perfect in my posts, but one of my disailities is rheumatoid artitis and some times the keys and key boards are not like when I was younger. I do see some errors that take away from my point and correct them, but when I swithch and ie for an ei I just can not waste the effort to correct them. I guess I could use the spell checker but I do not really bother much.

My posts will come from a vastly different experience as I was raised in times many hear have only heard of but they do make up the fabric that you call todays society. Rightly or wrongly you can not disregard the posts completely, and when you take it to mean un-educated well, I can assure you I am better educated then many of the posters here, and I am most definitely more experienced then many. I had no problem reading your post even with out the ; in place, but that comes from experience. I also will tell you straight out that the MP's that you elected are so bad in grammar and writing as a whole, that I know of several proof readers who made their living correcting most of what they have ever written. I can says this from all parties as well. I do not wish to make an issue of this and I really am not mad as others have gone. But I do wonder when we see a poster going off the deep end that maybe a post with some humour and guidence may be in order, rather then watching them implode to getting banned.
