I looked at the revenue Canada tax rates: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/individuals/faq/taxrates-e.html , and the highest I could come up with was if you were living in Newfoundland and you made more than $118k a year, then it seems like you would be paying 47% income tax, but not all of your income would be taxed at the same rate as there are different levels of taxation at different levels of income.

I suppose you could include the taxes on your purchases, and that could effectively increase the amount of taxes you pay to be more than 50% of your income, but thats all dependant on how much you spend, not how much you earn.

Here in Canada the 50% tax rate on income tax is just a little after $60,000.00 yearly income. For the person who makes $650,000.00 per year he dinfinitely would be paying way more in his total taxation of all things, and it would probably be around 65% of every dollar made would be for taxes of some sort or another. Most people with that kind of income though do have tax shelters to make this much less.

While I appreciate the sentiment of remembering those who died when the Twin Towers collapsed, I wonder where the lists of people (whose names are forgotten) who have died as a result of the poverty perpetuated by those financiers and stockbrokers who worked at the World Trade Centre?

And where are the names of people who died as a result of malfunctioning equipment, flawed vehicles and poisonous pharmaceuticals to which the manufacturers tried to hide their culpability?

The people who died are not heros they were unfortunate victims in a rebellion against the western interference in mid-eastern politics. I abhor the treatment these people have received in their deaths as the reluctant advertisers of illegal war, and as money makers for grubby advertisers sponsoring everything 911 in order to make a buck. If we were truly sorry for the deaths of these people, then there would be no war and any commentary, documentary and news on the rememberance days would have come without profit or gain.
