When you aren't sending the money to political allies in exchange for campaign dollars, you can spend a little on the nice things.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

There's nothing wrong with beautifying a city, robomarx. True Americans are sick of your third-world bullshit.

Now, be a good little communist and set old glory on fire - you still have that right even though it makes you a f*cking disgrace. ;)

Nice whataboutism. Now do NYC, Baltimore, Chicago, LA, San Fran, Seattle, Portland, etc.

The difference is the the strait is a consequence of maintaining the safety of the world and is being dealt with. The cities above are the consequence of bad policies that do nothing and are not being dealt with.

I don't really care. But I do think if Trump put half that much effort into actual Governing, America would be better off. What a Clown show.

Washington, D.C. is facing a growing risk of water shortages due to severe drought and historically low Potomac River levels, prompting emergency planning and new water management initiatives.

Current Drought and Water Levels

The D.C. region is experiencing severe drought, with 31% of the area classified as severely dry and the remainder under moderate drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. The Potomac River at Little Falls is near its lowest recorded level for this time of year, based on over 130 years of data. Streamflow and groundwater levels are also below average, and rainfall over the past year has been slightly below normal, further stressing water supplies.

Ya, DC needs fountains. :)

Actual governing?

Like...closing the border? Ejecting illegal aliens? Reducing nonsensical regulations? Bringing manufacturing back? Reinvigorating the fossil fuel industry? Tax breaks?

It takes a real clown to say Trump isnt governing. He obviously is.

Juan cares, he cares a lot. He cares because DC is being beautified, people are actually enjoying it, and the area is starting to not look like a third world shithole - it's a f*cking crisis for the woke.

We got Fountains, but no healthcare, no housing, no food, no problem.

Go Diaper Donnie Go!

I'm so glad that people can go take a walk by working fountains without getting a whiff of sewage or rotting garbage and don't have to worry about stepping in a homeless man's feces or on a drug needle.

Woke is phasing out. Thank goodness. The Democrats now that their gerrymandering has been overturned means they'll soon be obsolete as well

Reinvigorating the fossil fuel industry?

Coal jobs:
January 2025: 39,100 employees
March 2026: 38,400 employees

And it only took a war to bring oil and your gas prices up.

Trump "Bringing manufacturing back" is just YOUR FANTASY LMAO

Quote
Overall manufacturing output and industrial production have seen growth, but the number of actual manufacturing jobs has declined. The metrics are mixed:
Rethink Trade +1
  • Production and Output: Industrial production and new orders for machinery have generally increased as manufacturers aim to maximize output from existing facilities. The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Manufacturing Index has returned to expansion territory in 2026, driven by an uptick in new orders.
    Rethink Trade +2
  • Jobs: Despite the growth in output, total U.S. manufacturing employment has decreased by tens of thousands of jobs, with especially notable losses in the auto and wood sectors.
    Rethink Trade +1
  • Investment:
While the administration has secured hundreds of billions in corporate investment pledges for new plants, private spending on actual factory construction has significantly slumped, and many promised large-scale facilities have yet to break ground.

No, your fantasy is Trump failing no matter what it costs the country.

"Bringing manufacturing back" is still in process.

Checkout AI Overview:

President Trump is seeking to revive American manufacturing through a combination of aggressive tariff enforcement, sweeping regulatory rollbacks, and significant corporate tax incentives. These policies aim to prompt major reshoring efforts and massive private sector investments in domestic production. [1, 2, 3]
1. Targeted Tariffs and Trade Policy
The administration has leaned heavily on Section 232 to impose and update tariffs on critical imports—ranging from steel and aluminum to copper, automobiles, and pharmaceuticals. By making foreign goods more expensive, the policy is designed to level the playing field and incentivize companies to build their factories on U.S. soil. [1, 2]
2. Tax Cuts and Corporate Incentives
Legislative measures, such as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) and subsequent tax bills, are aimed at lowering the tax burden on domestic producers. These laws include provisions that incentivize capital equipment purchases, research and development (R&D), and domestic factory job creation. [1]
3. Deregulation and Permitting Reform
The White House has actively reduced unnecessary regulatory burdens and streamlined federal permitting processes. The goal is to lower the operational costs for manufacturers and speed up the timeline for building new facilities and supply chain hubs in the U.S. [1, 2, 3]
4. Large-Scale Corporate Commitments
The administration points to trillions of dollars in both foreign and domestic investments from private companies as proof of its "Made in America" revolution. Major investments have been pledged across a variety of sectors, including: [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Tech and Semiconductors: Apple's $600 billion commitment and Nvidia's $500 billion pledge to produce AI chips and expand domestic supply chains.
  • Automotive: Massive expansions from companies like Stellantis and Toyota.
  • Healthcare: Expansions and onshoring of drug production facilities by companies like Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, and AbbVie. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
While the administration champions these announcements as a historic reshoring wave, economists and industry analysts note that the results have been complex. Critics warn that tariffs and shifting trade policies have sometimes resulted in economic uncertainty and higher operational costs for certain manufacturing sub-sectors. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
