I agree. My position is that the Republicans are in name only. They are the Party of Trump, regardless what they call themselves. Mr. Groot cannot see that PP lost of his own volition. PP lost because his platform of incessant complaining and victimhood does not square with Canadian thinking...

Trump is a nationalist.

He defends America.

How is he different from the NDP, the Liberals or the PQ?

Every political scientist and observer says the same thing. Trump saved the Liberals.

Can you cite all these " political scientist and observers". Poilievre lost because Canadians rejected him and his polls continued to go down after the election.

He lost because your good friend Trump interfered with the election.

Trump said "You should vote for Carney", and CBC said "Trump was 100% correct and told the absolute truth, this one time only".

But CBC also said "EVERYBODY LOVES CARNEY! LOOK AT THE MOMENTUM IN THE POLLS!"

What the CBC never really explained is how Poilievre was up to 70% at one point, but all of a sudden "No Canadians even like him." 🤔

Disagree strongly.

Trump is a typical nationalist.

Like Quebec Solidaire, the PQ, NDP: Trump wants to make his society best by only buying at home.

Canada has done nothing but support and be there for America and this is how we are being treated after we lost many men in Afghanistan and other American wars. Trump and America have done nothing but insult and punch us in the face. We will never forget. Ever.

"As long as Trump remains the central character in Canadian politics, Carney can run record deficits, watch youth unemployment climb, and lose healthcare workers without any of it registering as a political cost."

And the media makes sure that Trump & Poilievre remain front and center as the cause of all the failure.

"The danger here is not partisan. It is structural. A government insulated from accountability by external threat has no incentive to fix the problems that are making life worse for the people it governs. The deficit will continue to grow. Food prices will continue to climb. Young Canadians will continue to struggle for employment. Doctors and nurses will continue to leave. And none of it will matter politically, because the conversation never shifts to domestic performance."

It's sad.  Canada is lost.  The die-hard Liberal cheerleaders will never hold that party responsible or accountable.  They hate Trump and Conservatives more than they love their country, or even their own children.

How so, by not living up to it's NATO commitments, as many different US presidents ask Canada to step up, Justin signed on to the new NATO agreement agreeing to spend 2 % of GDP and then flew home and publicly told the world he had no intention of living up to that agreement, now that is statesmanship right there, he did not have the balls just not to sign it............Liberals refused to enter the gulf war, and slapped the Americans in the face with it........and used Afghanistan as way to save face....Thinking it was going to be a cake walk...we have sat back and watched the world go by as the US stood up and took on the role as the worlds policemen....For the most part Canadians took advantage of all that....How is that supporting our closet allied...

The American people have done nothing towards Canada, you want to point a finger it is all at trump....when did Canadians become so soft as to let one man words destroy our pride, and influence everything about our country....Carney took advantage of all that and still doing it, how gullible are the left ...All of this is just one man and his lack of a filter....and now Canadians are hiding underneath their beds, and drinking Carneys kool aid...when it was Canadians ( liberals/ NDP) that responsible for our position in life....and now it true Canadian fashion we point our fingers at someone else...Squirl....Trump bad man, it is all his fault....

Your golden boy spent the least amount by GDP on the military than any PM we've had. Even fancy Justin Trudeau spent more on the military than Harper did.  That's fact...

Saying 'Trump is bad man' has become part of your right wing slogans now, but tell me...  How do you believe his tariffs have benefited our economy?

Try using your head every now and then...  All you have is 'Liberals are bad' and never use common sense.  Try it sometime, if possible.

Nice facts, but what does it exactly have to do with my point....No where did i mention who spent more on defense...

You tell me how it has benefited our economy, The liberal action plans and liberal opinion on this forum has been has been this they are in no hurry to fix this tariff war, Liberals are willing to wait it out to get a better deal....So tariffs can't be all that bad if they are in no rush to sign a deal with the US...

Try unsticking your head from your A$$....Liberal policies are bad, everything about the liberals are bad..... they continue to print money like a drunken sailor, adding to our massive the debt....what is so good about that....putting climate change first over economy is another liberal failure. the list is just to big to go over, one thing for sure it all lacks common sense...........One could only wish that liberals would use common sense...if only they had some....

Maybe you can explain how Canada has been a good allied to our southern neighbors, when we have been free loaders most of a 1/2 century....

We've been through your 'point' countless times. You continually blame everything on the liberals, and think we should give Trump what he wants.  And I could resist when I saw your defence spend comment... 🤷‍♂️

I asked you... you have trouble getting your head around why our economy is struggling that you blame on liberal inaction. What is it about the US tariffs to auto, steel, aluminum and lumber and how they're affecting those industries that you don't understand?  Sign a deal....why. Trump's got his own problems with these tariffs and more inflation coming his way. Agree to something when it's win/win, not win/lose

You're still talking about Trudeau. He's gone, get over it.  It doesn't appear to me that this government is putting the climate ahead of the economy. Are they? I see some ambitious plans right now that have a long way to come to fruition but oil and gas are part of that.  Don't worry, you'll get the satisfaction of us contributing to all the good fossil fuels do for our climate.

So, in your mind we've been 'freeloaders'.  I'll disagree with that, but so what?  Say we're sorry and move on rather than yours, and I'd almost bet Poilievres, of agreeing to a deal for the sake of politics rather than long term benefits for the country.

That article (from a right wing organization) just shows that Canadians know large-scale changes take time (years) and we're wise enough to give the government that time. Also no one is falling for Poilievre's empty rhetoric that he could magically fix every problem.

Large-scale change does take a while. But we need to start to get anywhere. And we're not starting. We're regressing.

Nothing he's done is going to make any large-scale changes other than driving more business out of Canada through high taxes and high energy costs.

Here is how you get something built fast to respond to a crisis:

FEB. 2022 – Germany decides it needs to break its dependence on Russia for gas.

APR. 2022 – 60 days later, the German gov't permits a brand-new import terminal and pipeline.

DEC. 2022 – Project complete. Gas flowing.

UAE just announced a pipeline to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, will be full complete and functional in 2027.

Other countries are doing it.  Why can't Canada?

Because the Liberals.  When are you going to wake up?
