Fluffypants Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 (edited) HUGE BLOW to Democrats as this was how they snuck extra representives to red states. I forsee a lot of redistricting coming up to dismantle those unconstitutional districts. In other news it looks like the Virginia insane gerrymander plan is going to be smacked down by the Virginia Supreme Court. https://www.12onyourside.com/2026/04/28/virginia-supreme-court-upholds-block-redistricting-certification/ https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-limits-use-race-redistricting-win-republicans-rcna245856 Â Â Edited April 29 by Fluffypants 1 1 Quote
West Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 Race based redistricting is gonzo. The party of slavery and Jim Crowe howls loudly 1 Quote
gatomontes99 Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 (edited) What it said was that States cannot consider race in drawing the map. The previous use of the voter rights act disproportionately increased the influence of minorities. This ruling hopes to prevent that. It also guarantees that every redistricting will go to court for determination of intent. That will be ok IF the judge is nonpartisan. The ruling could have a serious effect on the house. Republicans might pick up 50 seats. I doubt it goes that high, but it will increase. In related news, the VA Supreme Court will reject the gerrymandering there in a unanimous (most likely) vote. Edited April 30 by gatomontes99 Quote Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?  Â

I saw the questions jidges were asking in Viriginia definately skewed in the favor of rejecting it. 1 Quote
