Trump: "It's an honor to have the prime minister of Canada, Mark Carney, who I have made very popular. He's an extremely popular prime minister and I'm very honored to do it because I like him."

That would be a portrayal, impersonation, personification etc.

Caricature is it not.

“Caricature is it not.”
We don’t phrase sentences in English like that. You might have tried “Caricature, is it not?” Or “It is not a caricature.”

Glad to help you guys out. It’s a tough language. You’ll never convince anyone you speak it properly by denying words mean what they mean though. lol

Not at all. Your illiteracy only adds to my point, which is that you guys are too stupid to even understand a basic dictionary definition in front of your face.

Nothing will top you guys trying to pretend a tariff isn’t a tax though. That was gold.

The title of the dictionary your using must be "The Lord of the Rings" as all your definitions originate from middle earth.

That's where Sauron created a caricature of a Tax and called it Tariff.

I cited it. Try to find one that doesn’t include that definition. You won’t.

You guys really pick the stupidest things to obsess about. Take it up with your ESL teacher.

Precisely. You’re a gross distortion of a conservative.

Which would mean i wasn't a real conservative.

So when you claimed he was a gross distortion of a person that means he's not a person :)  LOLOL

I think you're slowly realizing why you were wrong and sound stupid :)

Only two emojis! You must be getting over your embarrassment. Can you tell me how a tariff isn’t really a tax again, grandpa?.

Already proved that in that context I was right and you were wrong. Just as we proved again in this context you used the word  caricature Wrong. And I pointed out several other words you use incorrectly.

It's not that I don't think English is your first language. I just think you're horribly educated and not very smart. And when you try to sound smart you wind up looking like.... well.... like you do here :) A twat.

I want the one about how tariffs aren’t taxes. Tell the one about how you found a dictionary definition that defined a tariff as a levy, subsequently exploded with smug emojis in delight that this proved it’s not a tax, and then nearly killed yourself when you found out the same dictionary defined levy as a tax.

Here ya go:

Understanding the differences between tariffs and taxes helps clarify their roles in economic policy and the broader implications for trade and public finance.

Tariffs and taxes are both forms of revenue generation for governments, but they differ significantly in their purpose and application.

Tariffs are specific fees imposed on imported or exported goods to regulate trade and make foreign products more expensive, while taxes are broader financial charges on individuals and businesses to fund government activities.

Essentially, tariffs target international trade, whereas taxes apply to various transactions and income within a country.

If you’re going to post AI slop, ask your AI machine what a tariff is and see if it doesn’t tell you it’s a tax on imported goods.

There is a  difference whether you like it or not though and there are plenty of other examples... you may have earned your pension but your pension isn't earned income, investment income is a different critter too even though all of it goes into your pocket.

If you want to make the case that pension, investment and earned income are all the same (simply income without any other considerations attached), then the tax man will love you for it.

Apart from the financial implications, this is how sensible people communicate with each other without confusion. If strait line logic is your thing then because mice breathe air and people breathe air then mice should be considered people.

John Stienbeck (Of Mice and Men fame) might agree with you but I don't.

LOL  sounds like you're back to having weird fantasies that never happened :)

As i proved at the time, the tarrif was a levy. Obviously you've been so emotionally upset by that that you're STILL having nightmares about it and fantasizing about it being different than it was

That's pretty sad.  Like i said, i never really think about you :)

LOLOLOL  well at least you've realized you were wrong about characteurs,  at least until next week when you'll insist that god appeared and said you were actually right all along and the voices in your head agreed with you  :)   LOLOL

Hilarious. Trump despised Trudeau and to you that was proof Trudeau was a failure with USA. Trump, LIKE EVERY LEADER respects Carney and somehow you think that makes him Trump’s stooge. Trump says nice things about most if not all leaders including Xi. of China. Does that mean Xi is Trump’s stooge?

Trump respects Carney because Carney is highly respectable.  He likes him personally because he is personally likeable. Nowhere dod Trump say Carney is his stooge or he agrees with Carney’s policies or that Carney is doing what Trump wants

Trump despised trudeau because trudeau didn't do what he was told.

Trump does not respect carney.  Trump finds carney biddable. He 'respects' him in the way a person might respect a housetrained puppy.

Circular logic much? :) Trump treats carney the way he used to treat 'Little rocket man".   Hell he didn't even invite him to israel, carney had to call and ask.

Sure he did.  He said he got him elected, he said he's easier to deal with than PP would be, etc etc.

And he HAS done eveyrthin trump asks him to do. He dropped the counter tariffs, he forced ford to drop counter tariffs, he delivered on the border not just troops but new policy, he did what he was supposed to for NATO, he killed the dST tax moments after being told to by trump despite moments before having said he never would, and even now he says it's time to talk not time to fight when literally every other voice in Canada is saying it's probably time to fight.

The guy couldn't be more of a stooge for trump. As one british newspaper put it "Canadian leader transformed into 'shrieking teen at a Taylor Swift concert' to butter up Trump"

What?  But before you were trying to say Trump prefers  Liberals to conservatives because the Liberals do what they’re told. Funny how you just reinvent the narrative.

Trump respects Carney and so does his senior cabinet. Carney has an impeccable international reputation with political and business leaders around the world. Trump is also easily charmed and Carney can allegedly be quite charming and funny when he wants to be.

He never said he’s easier to deal with than PP. There you go again with lies. And he acknowledged that Carney was elected as an Anti-Trump candidate as a backlash to Trump’s policies. Don’t pull your usual BS and try to say Trump endorsed Carney as a pro-Trump candidate and that’s why Canadians chose him.

51 minutes ago, CdnFox said:

I can’t find any evidence of whether that’s true or not, if you have a link post it.

But you’ll recall when Carney recognized the state of Palestine Trump was very angry and threatened Canada so first of all there goes your theory about Carney being Trump’s obedient puppet and second of all that would explain why Trump wouldn’t proactively invite Canada (if your claim is even true)….not that Canada is a significant player in Israel-Palestine anyway.

51 minutes ago, CdnFox said:

No not everything. He recognized Palestine which made Trump mad, he’s kept the strategic sector counter-tariffs which Trump doesn’t like, he’s kept dairy supply management which Trump doesn’t like.

Not all of them, and you’ll notice that the latest economic data shows that doing so actually improved the Canadian economy and economic outlook   And I quote, from the right-wing financial post no less:

“The federal government’s removal of retaliatory tariffs on many U.S. goods will provide another lift to the economy. Desjardins estimates that GDP could be as much as 0.2 per cent higher due to lower inflation and lower interest rates.

The central provinces, whose manufacturing industries are dependent on U.S. trade, will benefit most from this. Because construction was one of the sectors hit hardest by retaliatory tariffs, relief will be a boon to Ontario and British Columbia, where residential building is a big part of the economy.

The removal of the counter tariffs will also lighten inflation, leading Desjardins to cut its forecast for 2026 from 2.1 per cent to 1.7 per cent.  As these pressures ease, the economists expect the Bank of Canada to cut its interest rate in October and then once more before pausing.”

51 minutes ago, CdnFox said:

False. Ford did that on his own when he got an invite to the White House. He was probably bluffing to begin with, Ontario had already been investing billions in power generating capacity specifically to export more electricity to USA he’s not likely going to jeopardize the contracts he has with US states and utilities.

51 minutes ago, CdnFox said:

he delivered on the border not just troops but new policy, he did what he was supposed

Most of the border changes were made as a Trudeau olive branch but needed anyway to curb new border threats created BY Trump, ie illegal immigration OUT of USA into Canada. And much of it was just symbolic gesture “border security theatre” as one prominent critic called it.

51 minutes ago, CdnFox said:

Sort-of. USA wants us buying American not joining European defence production pacts. And if we’re going to decouple from USA and start treating them like a threat to our sovereignty we of course need our own capable military.

Sorry kid. You failed on all counts.

Carney is trump's man. Which is no surprise, when carney moved his business to the states he rented the offices there from Kushner.  HE arranged elon musk's loan to buy twitter.  He's been dealing with trump's family and friends for ages now.
