I don't think this is true.  There were multiple police departments who issued public statements that they would not be participating in Carney's gun grab.

Well they seem to be acting more like good old fashioned authoritarians on C-22.

Carney is deliberately scuttling trade talks with the US.

Mexico describes Canada as "absent" from discussions since at least last Oct.

I see a dumb twat who's repetatively admitting he's based his entire life on lies and feelings, Which is pretty much what every other intelligent person sees when they look at you and your writing :)

The challenges democracy faces under Carney’s leadership | Opinion | winnipegsun.com

Mark Carney is different from previous prime ministers in an important way. He seems intent on taking apart the checks that hold a prime minister accountable, one by one, and treating our democratic norms as obstacles to be overcome.

No prime minister in my lifetime has shown so little regard for how Parliament is supposed to work. The damage could well outlast his time in office.

Start with how he got his precious majority government.

You can agree or disagree with Carney’s policies. That’s all fair game in a democracy.

But you can’t stay neutral on a government that treats accountability itself as optional.

These choices weaken the institutions every future government will inherit. The bill for this will come due.

No prime minister in my lifetime has shown so little regard for how Parliament is supposed to work.

The process of strengthening a PMs power and control over Cabinet and Parliament, called presidentialization, has been happening for decades - in Canada and other Westminster Parliamentary systems around the world amongst others.

It less than surprising in a world where the number of humans living under autocratic  authoritarian thumbs has increased to over 70%. It's also entirely in line with the concentration of wealth.

We're talking roughly 46000 legislators around the planet.

It's no wonder we don't stand a chance right?

And yet while the liberals stay silent now and support this corruption they will be the first to jump up when someone they don't like gets in and starts doing the same thing. And they will be shocked and amazed when nobody has sympathy for their position.

Which is something I told the democrats about 4 years ago

You're correct.  It may never recover as long as people spend their waking hours complaining and b*ching about the past and their unhappiness with the state of the country.  Fortunately we have an angry little guy in Poilievre to remind us of this in case we'd want to do something crazy like trying to unite the country.

Does Alberta’s desire to break away from Canada have anything to do with the economy or the way the national government is running the country?  Please excuse an American’s ignorance of Canada’s politics.

This is one of the best takedowns of Mark Carney I’ve seen.

He’s not a businessman. He’s never run a company. He’s never met a payroll. He’s a lifelong bureaucrat who somehow convinced people he’s some kind of economic genius.

The guy actually went on TV in Atlantic Canada and downplayed steel tariffs because “we don’t use that much steel.” That’s not just tone-deaf — that’s fundamental ignorance of how manufacturing, auto, and resource sectors actually work in this country.

Carney keeps all the worst Trudeau-era policies in place — emissions caps, anti-oil and gas rules, the whole net-zero scam — but now he can personally override them whenever he wants. If those policies were good, why does he need an override button? He’s admitting they’re damaging Canada but refuses to scrap them.

He’s concentrating more power in the PMO than ever, acting like the King of Canada while surrounding himself with the same failed Trudeau retreads. His own caucus is still pushing the climate nonsense that’s been proven to waste billions and make life more expensive for regular people.

Meanwhile, oil and gas — our single biggest export earner — is still being deliberately held back. Provincial trade barriers are still choking the economy. And the same people who created this mess are still in charge, still pocketing money from the climate grift while average Canadians get squeezed.

This government was a failure under Trudeau. Under Carney it’s just a more polished version of the same failure.

Less government. Lower taxes. Cut the red tape. Develop our resources. Stop robbing the middle class to enrich insiders. That’s the only reset that actually works.
