You're once again arguing with people so stuck on their dogma the probably not even human. Bots can't vary from their programmng no matter what.

They treated these people like shit, the workers gave the USA a big FU and won't come back. If Hyundai has balls, they'll pull the plug on the plant or ship it north or south.

They were going to make hybrids there anyway, and nobody likes those down there. Just an automaking example of MAGAs let's feel good by legislating against other people's choices.

Am I understanding you? You think it's ok for foreign investors and businesses to break our law, so long as they have sufficient money?

So now you have an empty plant, no jobs and no money going into the economy, just because you wanted to put on a show and act the tough guy.

As well as a wealthy country seriously wondering whether it wants to establish manufacturing in the US at all.

Did they? Were they given an ultimatum? Was the  Korean government informed?

Did they what?

Immigration laws did not change overnight. Visa laws did not change overnight. These are the things people are informed of and understand when they obtain them or come here.

It may be fun to play the tough guy  but it will have consequences. All you have really done is royally p!ss off the most powerful ally you have in the Pacific.

Yeah, this is not going to destroy the overall relationship. You are overstating things because you love illegal immigration and defend this lawlessness.

Charlie Kirk said he didn't believe in empathy

Can you people ever stop being dishonest?

Kirk went on to explain what he meant, using words like sympathy.

If you read this article, then you have at least enough attention span to absorb that visas can be a complicated thing.

Doubtful to me that Hyundai intended to break the law.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

They don't want to hear that. They got their show and now they have an empty plant that was going to provide 8500 direct local jobs and all the support jobs that go with an operation that size.

Not only that, those batteries were likely going to be used to supply a Hyundai assembly plant in the US.

Trump says he wants manufacturing to come to the US. Well, you would never know it.

He did. He said he preferred sympathy. Except they are two very different things. Feeling sorry for someone is not the same as being able to put yourself in their shoes.

This was not illegal immigration, these were people in the US for the specific purpose of getting this plant up and running because there is no one in the US with the skills required to do it.

You've shot yourself it the foot big time but enjoy the power trip.

Are you saying yes, their money should allow them to buy an exemption to the law even though no such exemption exists?

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

If bothered to read Micheal's link, they repeatedly tried to get the right visas but only so many are issued and they can take a long time. At would also take years to train Americans to do these specialized jobs. So make up your mind, do you want foreign companies building manufacturing plants in the US or not.

Just so we are clear, you are ok with a large corporation using money and power to violate the law?

Go get the whole quote if you want to discuss this. You tried to dishonestly play it off as if all he said was that he did not support empathy.

Enough of your dishonesty.

No, but it is part of your whole schtick for supporting lawlessness like this, including illegal immigration.

I am enjoying the immigration laws being enforced.

I'm sure all the people planning on working at that plant share your joy.

People usually find fulfillment in being engaged in a productive job like this. Good for them.

No, our gain. Now they have to hire Americans to do the job. If you are doing business in America, we are going to benefit. There is a new sheriff in town.

I don't support crony capitalism, just capitalism.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

Except there are no Americans to do the job of setting up these plants and it would take five years to train them. That was explained at length. We have the same issues in Canada with foreign countries trying to start manufacturing. We don’t have the people with the specialized skills to get them going.

These are not permanent jobs, they are there to build a plant that will provide Americans  with permanent jobs.

Bullshit

Prove it. How many Americans are expert at  building a large scale Korean designed Li battery plant who already aren't working for a major auto manufacturer?

About ten years ago I was at an Engineering expo at the University of British Columbia. I was talking to some of the students in the electrical engineering class who doing things like building an electric VW bug to go drag racing. One of them told me half the graduating class had been hired by Tesla. These people don't grow on trees.

No construction job is permanent.

Now, prove there aren't any in America.

Here is one with just a quick googoo search. I bet you can find thousands.

I bet the building was constructed by Americans, it's what goes inside it that requires specialized skills to get up and running. When that's done, almost all of them will go home and Americans will be doing the actual manufacturing jobs.
