More Of Carney's Great Negotiating talent - China slaps 75.8 percent tariff on canola

We should invoke massive counter tariffs and p1ss China off even more!

What more proof do the 1doits need that tariffs are counter productive. Like using a hammer to hit yourself in the nuts and pretend someone else feels the pain.

Oh FFS 6 year olds tell you when they have to p1ss, fix this BS excuse of a word filter.

Thanks goodness for him....  Carney probably had no idea there was canola trade from the Prairie provinces.

True, it's not like he's lived in canada for the last decade or two or cared about the prairies when he did :)

It's a bad look to have to be schooled by PP like that, but not a big deal in this case.  What will be a bigger deal is more debt, more borrowing, failure to address china same as the US, weakening economy and a fall budget that's going to look worse and worse

We already did that, that's how we got to this point. Trump told carney he had to put in a mass of tariff to protect us automakers from chinese EVS and he went ahead and did that

It's not clear if carney would be willing to increase tariffs again without trump giving him direction

Schooled....  Haircut tweets something out before Carney did because he's got nothing else to do all day while the other guy has a real job, and that's being schooled?  He's unemployed, has no qualifications for the real world, fighting for his political survival and desperate.  Most would be after losing a 24% poll lead, their own riding, and their seat in the house...

Yep. Schooled.

Carney has entire Departments of people whose sole job it is to make sure that communication happens in an appropriate fashion.

Carney blew it, pierre called them on it, now carney does it he looks like he's doing what he was corrected to do.

Carney's not very good at his job. And that's just beginning to start to catch up with him. As soon as the fall hits and a lot more people are paying attention he's going to be in real trouble if he doesn't improve his skill set radically. He's failing with the economy, he's failing with trump, he's failing with china, he's failing to build homes and his new plan won't work And somehow he's managed to look like he's both not supporting industries that he should and over supporting industries that he shouldn't have.

Turns out being prime minister really isn't an entry level position

Everyone has an opinion right, and wouldn't expect anything other of yours.  I'm in the 68% that think otherwise right now though.

Then again, it's been pretty straightforward right...  Trump's been straight up, easy to deal with and really hasn't tried to hurt any of our industries, and why would China have a problem with our EV tariff and recent steel tariff.  Couple quick conversations and those countries should have been resolved.  Throw in Smith's daily complaining about a pipeline that nobody has offered to pay for and the fact 500K new homes haven't been built yet, and it's getting hard to see why the other guy wasn't elected.

It's what we got though so hopefully he's learned some people and business skills along the way that will help him get up to speed quickly....

Trudeau did that. But seeing now the full intent of Donnie's intent to kill Canadian car production, we can use the threat to remove or reduce it at the negotiating table.

I can guarantee that was not the intent.

Canada is not a soverign nation, it is an incorporated territory of America. The intent was is to give Canada a taste of soverignty. So contrary to common misperception, Orange man is giving Canada exactly what it wanted.

Everyone has an opinon, only some are right.

I base mine on observable facts and reason.  You base yours on partisanship.  Which is why you call everyone a partisan hack out of the blue, you're projecting your own failings on others to cover yourself.

So far, Carney is objectively and demonstrably bad at his job.

As you were in trudeau's first 100 days i'm sure :)

There are all things carney knew about and said he could easily handle.  Are you saying he was lying?

nobody offered to pay for it because carney didn't eliminate the law the industry feels is death to any deal. His "Magic zone" bill was a complete flop. turns out carney is bad at his job.  And alberta's p*ssed about it.

He hasn't and he won't. If this was regular times and he had the usual two years grace then maybe.  But things are terrible for canada and getting worse and he's not going to get the time to learn to do things right.

Our economy will suffer damage that will leave people unable to afford things even worse than is the case now. Investment is fleeing.  we have to pay interest on that 100 billion a year he's borrowing, that makes trying to balance things awefully damn hard and he's promised MORE spending for nato and other things. So things get worse, with less revenue every year and bigger bills and no progress.

And he's promised fast action on a bunch of things he can't deliver on because he didn't understand the game. He won't elliminate interprovincial trade barriers, he will not get anywhere near 500 k homes (he' probably won't get 250 ), trump is going to eat him alive on trade and he won't get the deal he wants and he'll be forced to take a bad deal because with trump it turns out no deal IS worse than a bad deal. He'll see to it.

You can already see ALL of this happening and its' pretty obvious how it'll play out.

Right now they are scrambling behind the scenes to get ANY company to put up a deal on a major project because they hope that it'll showcase that c5 can work, but it's just not going to happen the way they want. They'll find something for an announcement but it won't be what the country needs, so the economy will still lag.

This is all as predictable as when harper laid out what it would be like under justin, and he was dead right. You ilk didn't beileve anyone then and look at us now.

Sigh. Blinded by hatred, anger, bigotry  That's the left these days.

Destroying a major part of our canola industry to try to help a small EV industry doesn't make a lot of sense.  On top of that, Canadians are being forced to pay far more for EVs made in Canada than they would were they imported from China for a fraction of the price.

You're honestly not worth the effort...   How or where you find any of the traits you note in my comment is mind boggling, but coming from you, perfectly consistent.

Your bias is beyond what most would consider normal and your inability to think critically is fact.

Yet you made the effort :)

So what you really meant is that your buthurt but you can't actually defend your position again.

You realize at this point we just kind of assume that's your default position you don't actually need to announce it anymore

Yeah it's been great, basically paid for our Healthcare System. Thanks for the free ride, I'm sure we'll get right back to it as soon as trump is gone. As long as you promise him you're going to do something in the future he gets all happy and goes away

15 years of LPOC misrule brought us:

  • vax-fascism
  • massive scandals and subsequent media coverups
  • gov't control of the media and social media
  • a damaged relationship with India
  • thousands of terrorists
  • hundreds of billions of dollars in lost energy sector investment
  • accusations of genocide against children by our own gov't which were parroted by winner-countries like Iran
  • the alienation of FN's people, making energy infrastructure projects next to impossible
  • huge trade wars with China and the US
  • oversight of our domestic affairs by the POTUS

Canada didn't get any "unluckier" than a naked guy who humped a hornets' nest. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
