Like what? I know what supply management is, I live in dairy country. Supply management is to discourage overproduction and maintain a price that reflects the cost of production, instead of subsidizing farmers to overproduce like in the US.

The point is there's very clearly reasons for these policies. Would be insanely easy for accusations to be made that it was sold to somebody at a below fair price because they were friends with someone in the government or the like. So to be fair you have to do an auction. And you have to pay for that up front and there's no guarantee you'll get the money back

Dimension anytime you wanted to get a bunch of stuff for free if you work for the government you make arrangements for it to be sent and then canceled and then tip off a buddy to go bid on it

You can't answer why you're okay with this with every other type of government program that does the same thing and yet you're bitterly upset about this. Personally I would tend to be more upset about the milk if I was upset about either, but I understand that there's reasons the government does this and they're at least consistent. Which is more than we can say for you

If they give it away for free, who will reimburse the farmers for producing it?
