The problem for him is those chickens are going to come home to roost. He's already struggling to deliver on his prophecy and it looks like it's going to get worse. He promised free trade amongst the provinces by July 1st and that failed to happen entirely. He had to walk it back to getting rid of a couple minor laws that aren't going to make any difference.

He's worried could handle trump and that's going badly to say the least. Other well-known liberals are calling him a boot licker. And that's a former minister of trade and international relations, someone who kind of knows what he's talking about

Is pipeline thing is probably going to go sideways pretty quickly as well.

And with trump actually beating on us the economy is going to go into the tank. Unemployment will creep up, wages will stay repressed, people still won't be able to afford food and lodging properly, they're going to get a look at his budget and it's going to be absolutely horrific

You're getting almost as worked up as poor X flyer, and his mother has had to change his diapies several times already.

He didn't win, but as far as losses go it wasn't much of a loss. He held the liberals to a minority and he did very well increasing seat count and popular vote. So it was hardly a disaster.

But the funny thing is you cannot answer a simple question, if he's so disliked and terrible why did so much of the vote? It isn't true no, Trudeau was gone. It wasn't some sort of flash in the pan he's been pulling around those numbers for over a year. So how is that possible?

Simply put, they talked tough publicly then quietly caved on first contact, not because of unanticipated situational changes that required a new approach, but because they cynically planned to do it all along. I think the gym goers in elbows up t-shirts saw that for what it was and that's why there hasn't been a single sighting in weeks.... they're embarrassed to wear them. Regardless of political differences in the gym, these folks are disciplined, committed, they walk the walk and expect the same of others... liberal stock prices plummeted somewhere between the treadmill and squat rack. 

Sadly, it was the election itself which provided the incentive, when Trump's tariff threats became a hot sovereignty and economy issue they deliberately fanned the flames of patriotism whilst knowing full well they had no intention of walking the walk. I work outside with the radio on pretty much all the time, the elbows up ads, buy Canadian and support local merchant ads all evaporated with the same POOF sound the t-shirts did... and it took the brief flare of patriotism (which actually warmed my heart) with it. All we got back was a return to the Herb like polarization and nastiness I've long hoped we could shake off.

So ya, total hypocrisy (pretending to be tough when you are not, and pretending to believe what you clearly do not),

It's the very definition of hypocrisy, made worse by premeditated execution and media compliance. Then again, that's just me and a handful of gym rats, I'm not even suggesting that full on retaliation was the best policy, I just don't like being lied to with the malice of forethought... I bet he even asked Trump's permission to proceed with this election strategy, a sign of weakness Trump immediately recognized as valuable to his own agenda, an easily manipulated weasel that leaped into the reticle of its own accord.

not only was it a liberal tactic, but now we know that they were actually using taxpayer money to have the privy council test that message in focus groups and fine-tune it months before the election. In other words it was a tactic Justin intended to use if he went and passed it on to Carney.
